I've got a little question about the display of entries, read through the thread containing the info but it doesn't mention this anywhere there. Here's the question, what type of lighting and render engine are we allowed to use when we render our weapons? Might seem a pretty OT question but for example using the "light tracer" lighting in Max 5.1 the model ends up looking alot smoother than with the default lighting, it also seems to "cover up" slight texture flaws.

With the quality in Cobra's textures he's likely to make a small fortune if he was to do that! Thank got I already have my own 1500*1000 texture made

Just check if you have put in that file in your mod folder, should be in the Shell folder. If its there just rename it to something else (reticle_misc.bak or similar) and fire up the game. If it was that file then it shoulnd't impact on the way the sniper ret looks any more and you should have the original look back.

now this is going to be interesting, I've always wanted to try my hand on the Steyr but never really had a reason to untill now Already have just about all the reference material I'll need for this one, all apart from that sight rail, time to get busy! 600 polys sounds abit on the low side though, but that might just be me being used to working with the 5000 poly limit I used for my last project..lol.

Sounds like you have an edited "reticle_misc.rsb" file there mate. There is a simple way to remove the crosshairs by editing out parts of that file. Any idea if you have added in this file from a downloaded mod? The original file looks like that, if the file in your personal mod is missing the circled part then you won't have any crosshairs on any sniper rifle. Snow

Question is what dat file you are using with McAfee? If you are using the 4339 dat file then you might want to take a look at what it says underneath the info on that site you linked to.

Well, I've had Op Stabilise installed for weeks now without my Norton Antivirus picking up anything suspicious. Doubt there is anything there or it wouldn't even of let me install it!

Sure was, good spotting. Wolfsong has been kind enough to grant us permission to use the reticles from Swedish Force: For King and Country, we have also made a few new ones following Wolfsong's concept. And not to worry all of you that don't really like those rets, we will also include an option to revert back to the original rets if so desired.

Here's a hint, you can pretty easily swap the .env file a perticular mission uses by simply opening up the .mis file in notepad and change the line that states the environment used. Here's the line from IT's d01_Beach Snow

As I've posted over at UE's forum it turned into a FX5600 128Mb card and I also tossed in another 512Mb of Ram. It ought to boost up gaming performance quite a bit compared to my old GF4 MX440 card and should also make 3DS Max run alittle better on my machine. Still haven't installed the stuff though so I'll get back to you with the results later. Anyone know of a smallish 3D benchmark program that I could compare with? Smallish as I'd have to download it and I'm on K56

Heya guys I know there are several threads covering this already but I figured I might just start another one as all requirements are different from user to user. I've just come into alittle bit of money and I'm looking to upgrade my old GF 4 MX440 64Mb AGP4X card. After looking through the local computer stores prices, feel safer buying over the counter than ordering one online, I've come up with this list of cars that are in my price range. Thanks guys! I'm just more or less amazed that I got that thing ingame and running on the first attempt, was sitting here expecting a massive CTD as I loaded it up the first time! All thanks to El Oso's great vehicle tutorials I might add, without them I wouldn't of had a chance! Might just be an idea to try and make the turret land on the hull, as the animation plays now it flies up and to the right doing a 180 degree flip maing the barrel point back and also doing a 180 degree roll so it lands upside down. Shouldn't take me long to adjust that animation and make the turret land on the h

Found one big downside with an animation like that, since the turret doesn't have a origin point it simply sinks through the ground instead of landing on it

Unfortunately we can't pinpoint a set release date yet as we still have quite a bit of work left, most weapons and such are made but there are no telling how long it will take us to complete the remaining tasks And to SC and Mamon, I beg to differ guys....I could make the turret go balistic if that CV is destroyed All it takes is a damage animation and as it so happends that's what's next on my agenda! Doubt I'll make the turret really come off though as there are downsides involved in that, things like if the CV is standing next to buildings the turret might end up inside the building

I guess in one way I shouldn't post in this thread but emotions and memories have gotten the better of me so here goes. You can't really say one side was right or wrong in this conflict as both sides committed atrocities, and that is a fact no one can deny nowadays. On both sides of the conflict there were irregular units that did things breaking the geneva convention, among them genocide, the proof of this is beyond any doubt. @Dekela: no worries about being on par, that you surely are mate! Pretty quick too I might add. and about contributing stuff, ever since the earlier attempt at a community mod I've been slightly against contributing stuff for mods like this but I guess I can chip in somewhat too. I'm not going to donate the bulk of my work though but the odd AK5 model, pistol, Shrike models (got some here done specificly for the earlier community mod), XM8 or 2 and maybe (if I know it will be used well) a vanilla version of my CV9040C could be donated. After alot of cursing the CV9040C is finally working ingame I do have some issues to adress before I'm fully happy with it though, as the roadwheels on one side spinning in the right direction but in the wrong direction on the other side Should be easily fixed though I hope. Sorry bout the big images again but..... And just because I felt like testing it out, hope not to see all to much of this during our missions Might just add on some flames to go with the smoke. Snow

Did you move from slide zero on the animation bar to slide one? That's usually when the offshoots gets visible. And anything that allows you to deleate the text above the model will be ok, I usually use either subobject-faces or subobject-polygons to highlight the whole text and then deleate it.

Thanks guys! It's comments like that that makes modding worth it! I've been tearing my hear out over texturing problems on that thing but in the end I managed to solve most of them. @Gordo: the Autocannon and Mag58 will work ingame as soon a I can get it exported. Never exported any vehicle before so it will be a new experience. @Streinger: guess I could always make a Lt Gruber character And of cource we know that show! Anyone seen the painting of the madonna with the big boobies anywhere? @Lancer: a beer will do mate! I'm not really into getting kisses from blokes

Well, lets see if we can ruin some keyboards here. The CV 9040C model is finally completed and it turned out pretty good if I may say it myself. Sorry bout the big images that follow but cutting down on size would really kill the resolution. After adding on a few things to the earlier model this one ended not all to far over 5000 polys so it should run sweet as ingame. Snow

Dogs isn't always a help though, we have had a few incidents in Sweden with ppl out in the woods with their dogs get mauled by bears. What appears o have happened in those incidents is that a free walking dog has picked up fresh bear tracks and taken off after the bear, finds it and starts barking at it. This seems to ###### the bear off though and it goes hunting for the dog that almost always goes running back to their owner, with the bear in tow ofcourse!

Looking good as usual Ogre! And I'd say the problem with the straps not lining up properly is my fault, I must of sqrewed up slightly when I remapped that character Sometimes it can be a pain to add things to a model since it usually changes the way things line up too.
