  1. Thing is you don't really want shiny boots anywhere else but doing guard duty at a base or something similar, making you the units face to the outside world (look good for the civies). Think about it, everything you are wearing is nice and camouflaged, even patches on your uniform are of the subdued type...and you'r matching that with spit shined boots! Talk about something that could potentially give you away to the enemy, especially during night time operations.
  2. Pretty sweet save indeed. Watching it doesn't really make me think of how realistic flightsims are though but it does make me think of how stupid it is to build a single engine fighterjet Also makes me think of an old joke on the subject. An F16 and an F15 is up doing a routine training flight, the young hothead in the F16 reacons that he ought to see if the old grizzled veteran in the F15 still has the right stuff and radios a suggestion to play alittle "Follow the leader". Ofcource the Veteran is in for it and replies with "Sure thing kiddo....you have a go first and then it's my t
  3. Thought I recogniced it Seems there is no rest for the wicked in the modding buissness! Nice work so far guys, can't wait to give this a spin once it gets released! Btw, you get that problem sorted that you asked me about Streinger?
  4. I just might have a few shots of this little toy collecting dust on the harddrive somewhere. God knows how they made it to little ole me Edit: pics like this. Very much down sized from my originals though as they are about 2000x500 for each side.

    M25

Civilian version M25 but ought to give you a fair few good shots of the barrel and reciever parts. Vollmer M25 Snow
  6. About the character with his hands in the air, I've only made one of them as a test to see if the concept worked and as you have seen it wasn't using one of the ghosts. I guess if I knew what perticular character models (of the standard operatives originally in the game) that would be needed I could create models of them with their hands up, would take me some time though as I have other projects that need my attention more. If anyone else wants to have a shot at it though I'd be happy to help with tips and the already created "hostage" characters .3ds file. Snow
  7. Depending on what the judges and ofcource Dekela says about it I wouldn't see any harm in keeping this round open for a week or 2 longer, hopefully we'd get some more entries in to spice up the competition. I just figure that easter probably got in the way for ppl as real life tends to get pretty hectic around holidays, I know it did for me!
  8. That puppy has been around for quite a while now mate Earlier thread bout it According to sources of mine its still got a few gremlins to contend with though, mainly the camera connections that tend to rattle loose when firing.
  9. Thanks mate It's been a long time in the making already and will unfortunately take just that bit longer to complete. Right now we are busy re-compiling all the stuff into another Alpha as we have changed quite abit in the naming convention, unfortunately real life is kicking mostly everyone in the team at the moment and we are at abit of a standstill. Good news is that just about every weapon model is complete and ingame plus most of the character models are also done and ingame. Once we get everything re-compiled we'll start the mission scripting phase properly, some missions are already
  10. A student version is identical to the full version of 3DS Max just that you buy it on a student licenece with a considderable discount. Guess they can't charge a poor student an arm and a leg for a program that might just be required for his cource.
  11. Them things are without a doubt the most dangerous things you can come across! *looks over shoulder hoping his wife won't se ehim typing this!* And if its an infidel skin reccon just remember to keep your head up and camera on the ready at all times Stay safe mate!
  12. Thanks mate And if I remember right from round one we can submit changes to our models all up untill the cut off date. If that's correct then you can pretty much make any changes you want untill the 13th, if it isn't correct then I'll swap the old display pics back ASAP. Any call on this from the judges?? Snow
  13. Sorry bout this guys but I had another look at my model today and found some flaws that had to be corrected. I've updated the old display picture with a new one, just that little bit larger this time, and hope the old one could be swapped for this one in the entries thread. Snow
  14. Don't know exactly what it's doing in this thread but I'm pretty darn sure that's a FN Minimi (M249) SPW with the standard 200 round ammo bag mate. Huge difference between that and an M60. Snow
  15. Nice one Dekela! Here's my entry, shame I suck at creating a proper display of it! Snow
  16. Just thought I'd post some interesting reading about "hired guns". It's an article worth readin through guys. Hired Guns..by Tucker Carlson
  17. It's always fun to be playing around with CS gas, we used it on a few occations during my army service to make sure our gasmasks were sealing properly. I'll never forget the first time we did that, being shoved into a room filled with CS gas and then having to do some pushups, situps and a few jumps to make sure the masks were fitted properly. One of the guys ofcource managed to bump into another one and had his mask half ripped off, the result was pretty obvious! First he tried to adjust the mask but as that failed he went running for the door, got outside and was just about to grab a first
  18. If you are thinking about ZM weapons LR300 then there is a heap of good pics to be found on their website! I've got about 25 of them in my reference library and they are easily good enough to make a model and texture it with. and speaking of Eotech holo sights, if you need high res pics of one just let me know mate Snow
  19. It always depends on what instructor and weapon system you are using in determining what cqb teqnique you are taught. With a weapon based on the AR design collapsing the stock might be suggested to make it shorter and easier to handle, as for the AK5 I used during my service it was pretty common to fold the stock totally and go to FA mode when in cqb conditions. Worked pretty well for me although I trained in how to do it with the stock extended too, just makes it alittle harder to navigate tight corners that's all. btw, model looks good mate!
  20. Sounds great to me with so many ppl interested and working on it! The more the merrier!
  21. Ought to be pretty obvious that I'm working on one Got the texturing about 80% done so I should be able to fix up an entry in a few days.
  22. I think I spoke to soon here Just found some major smoothing problems in that model and had to redo some areas, meant the polygon count grew by another 3 polys. Now weighs in at 599.
  23. Already knew those tips mate, got anything better? Just finished off the model and managed to park it on 596 polys, time to texture this little beauty! A light tracer render of the untextured model looks like this. Snow
  24. Sorry guys but its going to take a while before I can release any of those weapons, apart from the USP Tactical that will come along with Swebat. All my available modding time is being sucked up to the last minute by swebat and having put 10 months of modding into it it has to take priority. Unfortunately I don't have Chem's skill in keeping several projects afloat at the same time
