  1. So no reply from GRIN on this yet eh... wonder if they plan on addressing this or not? I hope so, cuz otherwise there's no point in them even putting these great environmental effects into the game because everyone will just need to turn them off to be on an even playing field with those that decide they want to be able to see everyone for easy kills.
  2. I think it should be a server side option. Thus giving the host the choice on what type of cover/foliage everyone in the room will see. This puts everyone on the same playing field without any advantages/disadvantages towards anyone in the room. If someone can't join the room because their system does not meet the requirements, well then they always have the option of hosting their own game or finding another room that they are capable of playing in.   3. ya... change the names... then edit the map to make it TDM or any other game type and export as that type...

  5. I think he meant 58,316 x 58,316 cm. rather than 58,316 cm2. That should make a 583x583 meters landscape. umm 58,316 centimeters is 0,58315 meters... about a half meter... WOW... that's some good math you got... LOL... if there are 100cm in one metre.. that would make 58,316cm exactly 583 metre's with 16cm left over... so Digitaly TC was correct... sorry GRIN...
  6. one way is... copy the folder in the work folder that refers to your current map... rename it to say... AW01 Urban Rsistance TDM and so on... but then ... once you've renamed the folder.... go into the xml files within the folder and change all references to the old name to the new name.... you may also need to do this in the work temp folder as well.. if you go far enough into that folder you will find a folder with the map name on it as well.. hope this helps..

  11. Hey guys... I've found that lots of guys making the maps are putting them up for download without raring them... this is no problem... just that they are around 3mb... still not a problem... but if you rar/ace/zip em they go down to around 500-700kb.... just makes for a quicker dl for everyone... thought I'd let you know.
  12. you change light levels by going to sky environment and choosing which level from the game you want the sky to be.... there is only one that is dusk... it's the one I used for RED SQUARE (which is available for DL in my post about it).. once you choose the sky type... move the sun left and right using the left and right keys.... this way you can kinda choose how dramatic yer shadows and stuff will be...
  13. you can also turn off planar move... that will allow you to place stuff pretty much anywhere... just be careful you can find somethin after you've placed it... I've lost a couple helicopters that way....
