  2. Visual acuity Just how good is the camo? see for yourself @ 1920x1200 the 3 members of my team are hard to spot on first look. Yes there are 3 USMC guys in the picture less than 300m away.   3. These are untouched images grabbed from ingame on HARDCORE, they were grabbed using a registered copy of FRAPS on my PC. The graphics card is a BFG Nvidia 8800GTX 768MB which is driving 2 24" 1920x1200 LCD panels, so the memory on the 8800 is split to drive two displays. The PC specs are intel Core i7 975 CPU, 12GB DDR3 RAM, SSD Drives, Gigabyte X58 UD5 MD, Nvidia 8800GTX 768MB GPU, 2x 24" 1920x1200 monitors LP2475w. Captured by Fraps @1920x1200 bitmap (BMP) approx 6.0-6.6MB per picture and compressed to jpg because of file size (1.4-1.9MB / picture) I'll continue my adventures around Skira just to show that the graphics on a user PC can look stunning even when I'm just picking up screen grabs while playing. From the user handbook: 275m max between each player... x---225---x----225----x-----225----x total around 775m max before anyone gets a warning box. @ 275m you will terminate, so there is a 50m warning zone to each. They are looking at extending this in the future. For game engine restrictions in the L.O.D. dept. Now I agree before you shoot me, the tether is crazy but overall most will not notice it when working in the fire-team. Not an excuse but a philosophical view. RSE GR has no tether but maps were not so open/ big. Load outs, in missions pre made for campaign are set by the mission maker. In other words Cm, no user loadout at the launch screen. Once in the mission (at the spawn/ drop zone) the mission maker could spawn several weapons crates. Again, don't ask, crazy world. From the same manual CH:6 here is a couple of std mission loadouts, these are made from the mission maker, if you made the mission you can set it yourself. Now the only way to loadout different is via weapons crates that the mission maker could drop at the Insertion point or along the way. Again I did not make the rules.... Why have fixed kits? pre launch I have no idea, except if the mission maker wants there to be a min of x,y,z in mission to complete objectives... either way I agree, crazy world. viii Have a piece of island... click for full size Personally I think the problem lies with Quazal the hosting engine (3rd party) it's the system used for lobby:http://www.quazal.com/ re: the loadout pre select, same with J.I.P.
  6. It's not there only on easy level setting (low) flick to level 3 and you get no help, host controls the setting on launch.

I can answer you but I'm not allowed to give you the exact degrees, but I will say it's above 70 but as you may know if your on PC the FOV is a variable in a file The reason for the FOV angle default is the console resolution which is set to 1280x720 The PC of course is not stuck to the console resolution I play 1920x1200. p.s. the closed topic at Cm (as per your link) was because he was misleading with his calc. he was well out with his 65 degrees more than ... Hmmm lets say more than 15% out p.p.s. Please don't go quoting that at Cm forums... I don't want to be shot by the staff there.. plz.

Correct 2Kmx2Km max boarder size of playable area (no tether) MP (at the time of this post) Co-op Tether (275m) Before you say it, I agree, it defies belief why these limits are there, logically speaking if Co-op has a 275m tether how come a MP game with 32 players has no tether & gets 4Km^2 area? 2000m x 2000m I will have a good go at breaking apart this title...... If the LOD is drawn on a modular system and there is a restriction from the engine for the amount of land drawn at High LOD then some clever ###### (more clever than Cm) might just see a way past it... all speculation.

It's nothing like OFP1 in looks or scale it's like I said, more Ghost recon styled, CQB with command and immersion. All those wanting OFP1 again try ARMA2, so easy, All those wanting Ghost recon original part two, take a look, it is not the same but it's got the feeling. Wait for the PC demo and try for free. OFP1 =/= [OFP: DR]

Seriously you missed alot, I went to Cm HQ for the day, had full hands on no holds barred everything & spoke with lead designers and devs. At the end of the day it all depends what your looking for, if you want Arma2 then forget it, see BIS, if you want COD forget it see infinity ward, if you want a ghost recon styled clone then check it out. http://community.codemasters.com/forum/sho...ght=viiiper%27s But like I said, who really cares, I'm just playing it because it suits me......

I don't know if anything will capture the feeling of >Ghost Recon< not even Groundbranch or >[OFP: DR]<, what I've found with so many developers is that they get 60-80% right and then loose 20% of the magic. To top things off they then always throw in a couple of curve balls that no one see's coming and really screws up the the title so that any chance of bringing back memories of yesteryear are made very very hard. I remember the problems with hosting >Ghost Recon< and for all it's faults there was a piece of magic, will it come again? will it need some super modders & mission scriptwriters? I have so much hope and so much despair.....
