While my current 19" ViewSonic CRT works fine, I am considering a new LCD. What 20-22" monitors do y'all recommend?
TIA

As per topic title: Your Impressions of BF:BC2
BFBC2 is not COD/ CODMW1/2 GRAW/GRAW2 or RSE GR, as soon as you understand that your going to come with an open mind. BFBC2 is an average game when it comes to single player with a less than average campaign duration (around 6-8hrs max).
Where BFBC2 does shine & excell is in MP, alass if you missed out on the launch day +2 shenanigans of the host list server etc then you will be rewarded with a very stable connection in general. There are alot of servers listed and many full, why? in my personal opinion it's the structure of the game, it is like COD/ MW1/2 fast but with a stronger emphasis on tactics, where you will find that working together is the only way to rack up regular wins.
The game has fixed two main classes for me which many games get wrong, note I say games because this is a game & not a simulator. The first is the Medic class which for the first time is really a useful class, meaning you can actually fight & be helpful to assist & earn credit in game for it. You have (once earned) revive pads, medic kits & fire power all making the medic a truly important person in the team.
The second class is the so called Sniper class which for good reason EA/Dice call the Recon class. The term Recon is so much better as a description because sniping is only one element, The recon class brings Sharp shooter, Spotting, Info Recon, Sensors & Artillery strikes to the table, I think DICE made a good call.
Overall With the badges & pins to collect, length of service, personal stats & comparison stats of you & your friends list, this title will entertain for a long time........
9/10 For Multiplayer 7/10 for Single player.
Key words: Addictive, moreish, teamwork, voice comms, Action, fast paced....
P.S. Not to forget the sweet 'DOG TAGS' you collect from the victims of every mother F. you stab in game, they come in various colours/ metals & hang in your personal showcase as trophies...
P.P.S.
Sparta has a growing list of players that are friends & members.

1st, simply the most realistic, in RL we see 1st person & 3rd person on a computer game is a strategic/ tactical advantage view, nuff said.

Customized PC controls, dedicated servers with an integrated browser, wow, it's almost like he was trying to talk about all the things Modern Warfare 2 removed.
Dedicated servers are not for general release use, meaning EA will run them with partners, you can rent them and have a dummy terminal on a rented server but not on your machine or your own private server.
The game as far as I know will not come with dedicated server files.....

you know, for a game like this I totally agree.. a game like original GR prone is a must, slow & tight, in this one it seems wide & fast, plenty of cover and plenty of destructible objects to keep the terrain varied.
I think I will be a contender on the 5th march (UK release) something to fill in the year and I hope to see Rocky there too.... FTW.
-
I'm pleasantly surprised (especially with the SUP APPROVAL) I will be giving this a go especially the SP/COOP. thx for the posting.
Release date PC 2nd March 2010.

I wonder if we could convince Ubi to put the presenters in GR:FS.
I don't know if that's a poke at how deranged GR:FS is looking (in my opinion) or how sexist presenters are being used to cover up (there's the joke) weak products.... either way, it's just a reflection of how companies fail at advanced thinking and make everything fit the lowest common denominator.
Either way, UBi adding presenters to GR:FS might be on their plans, video intro, newscaster scenario... typical UBi paper thin storyline.....
-
Yeh it does seem to me that Ubi are making an awful big assumption about the percentage of the potential consumer base that it internet connected.
Can't you just imagine all the "I can't get this to run" returns at Game?
When your ISP goes down you loose all ability to play the game in Multiplayer or single player, if Ubi verification servers are down (like others have said) you loose the ability to play the game & if you go on holiday with your laptop & the game you have to dial ? international connections via 3G !! to play.....
It gets better & better... Codematers make big mistakes like NOT INC. a CD key & Ubi go the other way & basically nurf the game unless you connect to the net....
Pray you always have access to the net......
Nice to see development companies working on new tech. Wait for the return of the 'lenslokx'
All the rage in 1983 (never was hacked or cracked)
(because even if you owned the game you nearly always failed the verification).....
pray I'm not the only one that remembers this copy protection system.... ??
p.s. for the young un's

No fear, they already have if you own a 'Dolby Volume' enabled TV.

October 30, 2007 The issue of TV audio variation across channels and during commercial breaks is one which affects most of us – in fact, rushing for the remote to dampen the sound when an ad breaks in at uncomfortable volume has become the modern day equivalent of the quick-draw. Solutions to this problem have been sought for years with varying degrees of success, but now a new technology unveiled by Dolby promises to provide “set and forget†volume-leveling while preserving the full listening experience at any volume level.

I am and so are a few others but because of hostility to Cm & people praising this game I've decided to keep myself to myself and do it on the quite. Sad really when you get so many die-hards attacking a good game but I just got fed up of the Mr. negatives.....
All the best, lua is really easy......

I don't play it but i can see the PC community for this game disappearing and moving to another game.
Note to viiper: it's 1h 41' 15'', ' is for minutes and '' for seconds. U must recheck what u have learned at school if ever
Thanks Big

I must be lucky, I don't feel sick or notice it really, I look forward into the horizon and don't stare at the zero meters anim. I know about travel sickness having a medical problem with one ear after an incident .... I agree with Roco (for the second time) (j/k) when I loaded up with Cobol in a woods game of paintball carrying some 25Kg wet boots (from the streams) and tiered muscles, it's dam hard not to weave or bob, dam hard to run.
Back to topic, the bob value can be adjusted server side it effects all clients as it's the master.... I'll try to find out the value/ line.
-
Don't steal my ideas ! lol j/k ing... sounds good and it can be done too....

Nice to see you remembered the ATM...... unlike that forum thread.

The audio in Dragon Rising & Arma Series differ in one point, OFP Dragon Rising uses a smoother notation method, Arma Series used short words virtually glued together.
The result is Arma series has a robotic sound as disjointed words are bonded together into a sentence with little to no inflections.
Dragon rising uses larger structured phrases along with single words to produce smoother formed sentence with inflections. DR uses 3 states, whisper, normal and loud, all can be intermixed and sentences can be formed in a more rounded manner. Also Speech can be scripted to be directly changed with battlefield action, moving from whisper to loud in a simple lua function block.

Keeping things in perspective, this game is no super model but she has alot of good points and with a bit of cosmetic surgery it can only get better, remember it's early into the relationship and putting her up against games like GR is kind of hard as that title alone has many years of development from devs/ modders & mission makers.
Personally I find it good, I have my likes and dislikes like most people but I find the base game ok.
Graphics don't make a game but they can break it, I find OFP DR graphics ok and if Cm tone down the colourization from the global light then that small aspect would be easily improved.
Sound is top notch I am impressed, sound field definition and execution is solid.
Game mechanics could be improved but generally it plays well.
Longevity, remains to be seen but with good people probing the in's and out's it's only a matter of time before some talent is spotted and patches add to the depth.
At least there is another good title on the block........
