  1. I`d be over the Moon, with some Intel on a Demo!

    Tinker

    :D

Hell, I'd be over the moon with ANY Intel!

I am wondering how close the x360 version will be of GRAW 2 versus the pc version. I played the demo for x360 and I thought highly of it.

I probably wont buy the console version straight up, but I will for the pc. The pc is still my primary gaming platform, but for sports and racing I use the 360.

I just hope it looks as good as the 360 version, although It is not being made from GRIN, I wondering if the storyline and weaponry are the same or close.

    I guess we will see,

  2. I don't see why they wouldn't at least include the current SADS that is already available for GRAW.

Now if they are completely re-writing the SADS for things like remote admin, better handling of maps, multi-homing, IP specification, etc. I MIGHT consider giving them a little slack. But after the uproar of GRAW, I really doubt they would release it without SADS. They wouldn't be so dumb to make the same mistake twice I hope.

No offense to GRiN but they are under ubi's thumb. Yes ubi is that dumb

Give them a chance, you never know. Grin?

  3. I see some GRAW2 screenshots with those wooden fences in odd places again, GRIN can you please remove them, maybe ad some bushes or so, if gameplaywise the sight should be blocked, but putting fences in the middle of nowhere........was one of the things I disliked in GRAW1.... I know sniping thrugh fences, or blowing them is fun, but please use the fences only in the proper places (around buildings and such) but not in the middle of nowhere

It's the ghetto man, they can only afford half or quarter of a fence. When they cross the border and come back to the US and work at a landscaping company, they might be able to afford another 10' of fence.

    Give'em time.

  4. actually nutlink hit the nail on the head. aside from the gaming, it appears that the only copies of vista that are really selling are those that come with PC's.

Roco has a point to,,Vista DOES look cool. But then on the other hand, every article I've read, the forum posts I've seen and read all say the same thing, Why should I upgrade when I'm perfectly happy with XP?

I'll use my case as an example. MS released that upgrade tool to determine whether ones PC can run Windows Vista? you know what I'm talking about right? well that exact tool, which was the latest version told me there would be no issues. but excuse me when I call bulls****! I installed my free Vista business and it runs for sure but I look at my task manager and my CPU (AMD64 3700+ San Diego core) is running at a staggering 70 - 100% usage. So beung the investigative kinda guy I am, I checked my processes by user. nothing in there tells me what's causing the high usage.

So all in all, this tells me Vista is pure crap. at first i liked it, but now I don't. every previous version of Windows installed and ran straight out of the box, drivers support was there upon release and the only reason I upgraded my PC was to be able to game better. but now? I need to upgrade just to run the damn OS? This is a joke!

Microsoft is playing RIGHT into the hands of PC makers. Wanna run vista? gotta buy a new PC! aside from the drivers issue, Everything that Vista offers, we have already with XP. But that's not all. The next version aptly named Vienna is currently being worked on. but MS says NOTHING about it so it won't hurt sales of Vista.

So, while Vista does look good, it is worthless in terms of use. It reminds me of the days of Windows Me. A real let down. >_< plus WinXP has SP3 coming out this year or the next.

My Vote: Stick with XP!

Yes I am sticking with XP right now, I would like to have a test copy of Vista but right now I consider Vista virus like software, untested by public and risky.

Although I do repect Roco's review.

  5. ...just tell us in Swedish, no one here understands that language......lol

Yep, I like that idea :P Welcome to the forums Mast

Yes welcome and enjoy your stay. We're even availble to talk about GRAW 2 with you. :rocky:

Dont worry about secrets  and keeping information under wraps, we will protect that info :snipe: in this forum we all know.

And you should tell us all , because really we all know :seehearspeak: .

In the end everyone knows everything.

  6. I just got the X360, I have GRAW for pc but I was thinking about picking up GRAW for 360. I read down through the topics that the pc version is alot different from the 360 version, which is great.

But are there still alot of players playing the game on Live for GRAW?

Like something specific not "Tons of players"

    Thanks

  7. As DD stated above, this "no more support for Vegas" discussion on the Ubi board is based on unsunstantiated rumour, add to that the fact you cannot compare patch support for one game against another, and it would seem there's much speculation going on here and not much to support it at all.

If GRAW had recieved the same shocking lack of support that R6:LD and R6:Vegas had, there would be justification for getting worried about GRAW2 support, but looking back at the number of patches we got for GRAW, it kind of kicks that premise into touch.

    Have faith :)

    Well spoken,

    Death

  8. Ur right, but now they(Not necessarily Ubi) are started to more and more release demo's for xbox360 games.

U would think they would just wanna release it and swim in the money.

Perhaps game and magazine reviewers are starting to be less biased these days.

In the sense of not giving every console game a thumbs up. This happened to Star Trek Legacy released by Bethesda Softworks, IGN gave it a bad review and sales were terrible.

    But who knows,

  9. I don't care what weapons we get to field in GRAW 2 - as long as I get my plasma gun, flamethrower, particle beam weapon and electro-magnetic railgun.

    WytchDokta, tu prend la tête?

LOL Plasma Gun. Quake can give you the plasma gun, or Unreal.

For Graw 2 how about the M16 family.

Just a decent selection will do.

    Death

  10. There will definatly be a demo for sure. They have to!

They have to know everyone wants to try before they buy. Especially all who got GRAW1, and suffered from the bugs and unfinished multiplayer.

If they can release a Demo with SP and MP, and plays like how we are being told, and has the things we have been told. Then I can see GRAW2 being successful.

But if no demo, then honestly, who is gonna wanna risk payin the AU$90 for the same old stuff. I know this wouldn't be everyone, but majority will hold off ftom buying until they can get their hands on a demo.

I think GRIN will give us one. But is it their choice or Ubi's?

    Can someone answer that?

    Death

  11. you....

So they are going to abandon support of Vegas PC, no more patches.....

This will undoubtedly ###### off alot of gamers that arent already ###### at Ubi and force people like myself never to buy another ubisoft game again. Rainbow six caters to alot of the same gamers as Ghost Recon.

Its unfortunate too, because Grin could be developing the best GR ever but there will still be an ubisoft logo on the box.

Shame on ubisoft for releasing such a mess in Vegas then abandon it?

    http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3...24/m/2751011535

That is a rumor and nothing else, this has been stated by UbiRickas.

But it would not surprise me that they would go in that direction.

Ubi has the "Give me ur money, thanks for buying our junk, sorry no support).

    Death

Whats also funny is that I so hated consoles and console players for a long time, I actually just bought a X360 with Vegas last night.

I hated the fact that there games are all $60 dollars now. What a RIP but hey ppl are buying the product and they are making $$$$.

So far I am pleasantly surprised with Vegas and the console.

But now my PC is screaming come back come back.

Alot of my adult PC gaming friends have gone to the 360 because Vegas is decent and fun and has good tactic's.

I am not sure how long I will own this. Games like HL2 ep.2 will bring me back, and GRAW 2.

    Well we shall see,

  13. So it works great for you huh? Good then I am definitly buying it. How is the light bleeding? I heard that only in real dark or blacked out areas of a game will you see light bleeding.

Thanks for your opinion though, it is appreciated. :g_withgrin::D

    Death

Unfortunately there is some slight light bleeding at the top and bottom which you will notice when/if the screen is black, but I can't say that it has bothered me.

Two of us at GRiN ordered the 225BW as soon as it hit the market and none of us have any complaints. At least, I've never heard anyone of us complain, and I hear myself all the time.

Thats great, I appreciate your opinion. I thought so about the bleeding, but I am buying it anyways.

  14. The Frecnch are already in the Building.

    Ohhh noes ! :o

    -> LINK <-

Nice Link very funny, spot on.

LOL I think GRIN is privately held so they would have sell their company away.

    At least me thinks so?

    Death

    French, LOL.

If the PC GRAW series continues to be successful and/or becomes more successful, would UBI consider buying GRIN as they did with RSE? :wall: Cause RSE put out the original Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon then UBI bought them out and well both series took a nosedive holding onto a nuclear bomb (Lockdown, Vegas and Ghost Recon 2). I think the GR series has been resurected by GRIN but if UBI were to "acquire" GRIN....then what?

The series died when that happened.

  15. A few weeks ago I walked away from GRAW2 because I saw it as a $50 bug fix / expansion pack for GRAW, a game many of you know I'm not terribly happy with.

Now some of the PC-centric previews have caught my attention (yes, I was just lurking the past few weeks... but that's another topic...). But what I am not seeing is much info specific to SP. I know some of the material covered in the previews touches both SP and MP (and that's good), but I mostly play SP and I'm hoping for a less scripted feel from GRAW2 than I got with GRAW in SP mode. I hate to bring up the [GR] comparison, but I want the freedom in SP to do a mission any way I see fit (I guess I want both the "single mission" AND "campaign" options, like [GR] has).

Anyone have any material you can link to, or heck, start a discussion on? I know MP is where the money is for sales of retail boxes but there has to be SOME of us SP people left, right? Please? :)

    Thanks!

    Callsign 3Point

I totally hear you and I sorta agree with you, BUT, In comparison to Vegas, which has MEGA problems, I give thumbs up to GRIN and GRAW 2. :g_withgrin:

I have the feeling from them that our patience will be well worth it.

And I hope you feel the same way. Wonder over to the Vegas forums and you will see, it's a Bubi disaster.

  16. Just to clarify the part about what is considered a basic rig. It is actually a miss quote on behalf of IGN. The question Mr Bonde answered is what computer he was demoing the game on. Not a comment on the requirements for GRAW2.

What Nouredine Abboud is saying is the answer to IGN's question.

Yes thanks for clearing that up. But no doubt you will need a mid to high end system to play games almost from here on out.

Games are becoming more and more demanding and system hogs, although it is funny it seems that we have technology that is coming and soon to come on the market that will require some heavy cash to aquire these products.

Most ppl with agp cards and low end AMD Cpu's like the XP series will be forced to upgrade sooner rather then later. Graphics cards are becoming so fast that now the cpu/fsb is becoming the bottle neck of systems.

But is is although intersting in reference to the Steams stats, that still close to 50% of players still have a AGP Mobo and agp card. I believe right now you cannot aquire no higher than a x1950pro or 7800gs in agp form card.

Games at least for the next few years "should" be optimised enough to allow these player's with older systems to play with at least 30fps minimal.

But a new game should always be started with a highly optimised engine that supports Shader models 2.0/3.0 and 4.0, and DX9c and 10, to me that makes sense because you can sell to a wider market of ppl.

To end my book I believe games like HL2 acheived this, because I can play the game with a low end system, and yet get the eye candy with the high end systems.

    Well just my thoughts, :D
