  1. The point is tho that onboard sound uses existing CPU bandwidth (wich is bad). Sound cards do all the work instead and ontop make sounds clear and crisp, plus give you options like EAX etc. What about 6.1 /cry
  2. Post effects (aka Post-processing effects) is HDR/Bloom, and since the screencap shows it at "low", I assume there will be a "medium, high, and off" setting as well. ← No post effects are what you see above a fire in-game, wich would be image distortion. That has nothing to do with HDR. HDR is what Bo discribed it as. Unfortunatly if not done right, it makes things look blurred and Washed out. Look at the screen shots and see how everything has is either a pale-blue or a washed out-orange tint to it, that's HDR.
  3. The screen below shows that you can turn the dynamic lights and dynamic shadows off. No need to panic. http://www.fpsforces.co.uk/images/g5.jpg silent_op ← Dynamic lighting and Shadow are fine. HDR is a totally different thing. Not being able to turn it off is about as bad as those games that force you to play with Overbright.. At that point I sell the game on E-bay.
  4. Sound cards For the win. Had my Audigy 2 zs for years now and probably the best investment I ever made.
  5. OR "drumroll" the light. You guys need to get away from the old static light. If the sun is orange the HDR will make stuff orange - if it is bleak yellow/white it will make stuff pale. The Church map is very orange and so is two other CO-OP / SP missions. Others not. Each mission and MP level got different settings. Forget about coloring the texture much - when modding think of how the material will react with the sun setting it is used in. IF you put a guy in direct sun light - he will shine. If he is in a shadow he will be colored say bluish from the radiosity bounce. Mexicans are green/black with vests in MP - and their kit don't reflect light as much as the Ghosts. There is actually a MP Mex in one of the videos from the UK event. Cool you liked the game! I'll see you on the net. ← Yeah sounds good but IMO it makes the game look bad and unrealistic. I'm hoping I can turn all that crap off and just have normal colors and hue's right? ← You mean like a PS2? ← No, like in real life where poeple are not turning a bright orange. HDR sucks... So can I turn it off?
