Yep you got the same exact error as me, Read from location 00000188 caused an access violation.
I got it again last night about 4 games into hosting,the night before I hosted for 4 hours and no problem,wich led me to believe it was fixed but I guess not
is there a way to track these down? there is the number,it gives you the location ,they must have done that for a reason.

Check that map!!! Keep youre eyes open,Listen for where those shots are coming from when ya hear Man Down!,watch that AI and if you come up on a enemy

I did what ya said ,I DL'ed Ubi from the site and didnt install it from the Original GR disk, no problems so far. Thanks WhiteKnight77

You might just have alot of programs running in the background. I have 768 megs of ram PIII1gig, this game takes a lil while to load,go to youre start up menue and diable the stuff you can activate on youre desktop- if you need it you can allways click on it.

I had the same problem,I had to keep switching PCI slots till it found the one it liked,
"wow that card was particular""also you need to install the Audigy drivers that came on youre install disk first before you can update to the new drivers. -
I was using the Ubi from the Original GR CD I have since switched and got Ubi from the Ubi.com Site will give that a shot and report back.

I reinstalled Gr again,same problem same access violation,is there anyway to track these down? Ive been trying forever no dice- "Read from location 00000188 caused an access violation", Installed all patches,ran with no mods,Ive only noticed it when I serve.

set my motherboard to 256apeture size/primary to AGP/
basically updated everything and DIRX is working fine,how can I track this down? PS:started ever since I changed to xp"clean install XP home ver not the upgrade",nvr had this prob with Win 98 also between each GR install I compleatly removed GR from my system via jv16pt. hmm trying not to leave anything out,I have Norton 02 installed,Gainward ExperTool /nothing really running in the background.

It happens when im hosting,can be any game,map, situation,heres the latest dump back to UBI about 6 games in,same message

Hello all,Im having a problem with Ghost Recon crashing back to the Ubi lobby. it comes and goes,can happen anytime Heres the Ike Crash log,I reinstalled GR several times,Grm4.8 is only mod I reinstalled, had this prob a few weeks before reinstall, still got it now. need a lil help=)Pls.
1000mhz P3,WinXP Home ver. DX9.0, GeForce3TI200 128meg /40.72Nvidia drivers ,SBD Audigy,pc133 768meg Ram,Cable connection,1.4 Gr patch only.
Same Message every time.

ARG!! the problem is back
,was fine for a week or so"thought it went away 
I have done everything mentioned in the posts ,lemme know if you others are still seeing this problem
