  1. We got a sequel, it just evolved. Much like Gameplay evolved from R6 to Rogue spear to Covert Ops... Maps got smaller and smaller and they got more focused on CQC. I personally was unhappy with that change, not everyone was though. As a matter of fact I found that most people liked the change, which was amazing to me.

GR1 was suposed to be an alternative to R6, since R6 started forcusing more on CQC. It worked too I thought, to a degree. It still naver matched the fun I had when rogue spear was released, and as I always say Urban Ops as the best expansion to any game ever released IMO.

I am just trying to say that we did get a sequal, it just evolved, like everything has to and does. The original GR game was what it was... But thats sort of "done" now you know? A company can't keep making the same game over and over.

God, I remember back when compaines started making games in 3D instead of 2D. For soooo long people screamed and yelled about 2D being better. The industry moves forward and evolves. I actually give credit to GRIN for trying to combine the two games. GRAW was designed to be more linear than the previous games with all of its scripted sequences.

This thing about the "base" not wanting GRAW is sort of silly because I am in the base and I wanted it and like it. I don't even believe that "most" didnt want it. Personally from sort of staying on the outside of the situation and looking in, it seems like the thing "most" people had issues with were the monsterous system requirments of the game. Thats a problem that every leap in generation has it seems.

Ok... Jumping back to the peek thing in R6:Vegas... I can understand how people who havent played the game could have issue with the way it is set up in the game. However, when you are actually playing the game it is a cool feature. I was in the same boat before I got to play the demo, but all in all I REALLY like the demo a lot and am very excited for the game. I find that on the realistic setting that it is actually quite a bit HARDER than previous R6 games. Even the normal setting is fairly difficult.

They didn't evolve thats the point, they took whole gameplay concept and changed it completely. When you evolve something, you take the main things and try to make them even better, that was not the case whit GRAW and it doesnt seem to be the case whit Rainbow Six: Vegas.

It's like making Splinter Cell and selling it as a Rainbow Six game, sure it's one heck of a game but it isnt Rainbow Six.

Don't know how to explain it better really, so I hope you get the picture.

  2. The reason GRAW pc is doing so poorly is because of how similar it is the Ghost Recon 1, unfortunately.

I don't see how you can compare GR whit GRAW despite it share the same name. GR was very close to a combat simulator as the technology at that time could allow, GRAW is more a story driven ACTION shooter. The damage system in GRAW is very weak and the maps/missions are highly scripted and linear. Plus that GRAW has a very big part of Hollywood in its game-play especially when it comes to the story, characters and the futuristic touch.

GRAW could have been looked at differently if they had just named it Advanced Warfighter only, then there would not have been the same high expectations and I actually think that many would have bought it (even the fans) and enjoyed it for what it really is. (I know I would).

  3. Only way to make big PC sales is not to appeal to a niche market. Kids don't want tactical they want run 'n gun which this franchaise isn't about.

All these statements about kids not wanting tactical games is nonsense really, remember many of us actually started as kids, in fact I started playing tactical games when i was about 16 year old (I'm 22 today). We can't put people in boxes like that, because it is basically not true. I'm in a SWAT4 and Raven Shield co-op clan called SAS Elite Virtual Regiment, we also get a lot of applications from kids who are from the age 13 and up (unfortunately we only recruit people from the age 16, due the maturity). People are simply different, some like to use there brain and some don't when playing videogames, thats all.

BTW I hope the PC community will not get a GRAW 2 but a Ghost Recon 2 ! :D

... but we all know it won't happen :wall:

  4. EA makes crap games,

UBI has been making crap games.

    That isn't true.

EA makes games both of us don't personally like, and Ubisoft makes games you don't like, but they both deliver quality products that sell very well.

OK name one quality game that UBI have made in 2-3 years, hehe ok i can name one "Splinter Cell" so name two :P But the rest is crap, stunning graphics and a simple, linear gameplay is what they are delivering now, my opinion of cuase.

  5. Yes what we wanted was a similar game to the [Ghost Recon], not a complete diffrent game.

But seriosly man you are more than a month late whit this stuff, in the first two weeks when GRAW was released there was nothing but complains. Now the good old GR community has either moved on or is now working closely whit GRIN on possible adjustments and improvements.

And some has actually already been made, Co-op is still lacking though.

    Welcome to the forum BTW.

  6. This was only a conclusion on the whole thing. It just proves again that UBI/GRIN doesnt give a damn about the co-op community.

I didnt expect a whole new game whit the patch.. either you love it or you hate it.. I had just wished that they would have made some good Co-op changes.

  7. I can see that all of us "whiners" and our daily posts whit GRAW critizism has disapeared from the forums :P

I have just recently reinstalled GRAW because of the Juni patch released.. remember the one you tried to calm us all down whit.. but no I'm still not impressed its still a crappy game, that has nothing in comen whit the [GR].

But I'm extremely sorry to see that Co-op is still as crappy as it where before the patch, no game options or anything has been added. Its a shame especially for my fellow Co-op brothers who actually did like the game.

Well bye bye.. hopefully we will get A LOT more lucky on the next GR game.

    Take care.

  8. I remember I read a couple of months ago that you could completely disable the 'POST' effects, I would like to know how, because I can only set it on low.

I can't find the topic on it, so maybe one of you guys can help me out.

    Anyways.. thanks in advance.

  9. It seems like a lot of people here really get it, but theres enough people who are still going to scream and moan regardless of what happens that I give up. Maybe I'll check back in a few months and see if the moaners have either given up, or finally seen reality.

that was my "give up" speech.

  10. I think its only cool for those old fans of the [Ghost Recon] game who like or have learned to love GRAW, I only wish I had bin so lucky.

Its plain simple not my cup of tea.

I don't see much hope for the fans of realistic and tactical shooters anymore. (sorry I mean ULTRA realistic and tactical shooters, since GRAW is called that).

  11. What I BASACLY would have wanted in a new Ghost Recon, is Ghost Recon whit a new graphic engine, first person weapon view and even further expanded realism.

I'm think that's pretty much what I got :) I got first person weapon view, a new engine and expanded realism. The setting is far more urban than GR1, but I can live with that.

Once the MP side of things is fixed up, and mod tools are available this game will be even better.

Hmm no it doenst feel or look like Ghost Recon, it has that console feeling over it.

As for the "expanded realism", I only have to say three things.. no injury effect (no gimp or worser aim), no "oneshot, one kill" (you can take three hits! even one in the face whit out dying) and no blood at all (only a little splash when a bullet hit a body).

Have you played GRAW on the 360 and PC? I have. PC's version of GRAW and the word "console" do not belong in the same sentence. What makes it feel like you're on a console?

No I haven't tried it on the sandbox.

But here are some of the thinks that I think makes it console like..

    Maps and missions are linear.

There is always some kind of invisible space between you and a wall or any other object. (Can't descibe it any better, feels very strange).

Tangos can't hit a damn thing, I did the "bullet boogie" for 30 seconds whitout getting hit.

Target markers. (ok you can turn it of, but its there).

    health bar.

    ......
