  1. Hi Folks! I noticed the fan letter I was a part of on the GR 20th year anniversary page so I thought I'd make a quick post. Very cool! I look back fondly on those days at RSE! Though I left Ubisoft on good terms back in 2015, I do check in on the GR.net site from time to time. It's amazing that after all these years the fan base is still here, enjoying OGR on PC. I always felt there is a unique sense of authenticity and tension in the early iterations of the series that you don't see anymore. That makes me yearn to get back into creating maps! Thanks Rocky and all the fans for keeping the site going. Best of luck to you all! p.s. For those curious, I started at RSE back in 2002 on island thunder xbox as an environment artist (visually upgrading maps, developing new ones for DLC) and worked on GR2, GR2:SS, GRAW1 and 2 xbox.

  2. Making new thread for resource pack I'm working on now that I'm officially releasing it. Currently only characters, but planning to add weapons to it. Feel free to use the resources here as you wish, just make sure you give proper credits. Possible future plans: New weapon models (currently messing with M4 SOPMOD, looking to enhance it and maybe get into Block II accessories) Another set of models ~2010 gear

  3. Decided to mess around with the GR2 model pack Zee made a few years ago, and actually learning some stuff like how rigging sucks. This project is to address my complaints with the currently available models: Gear is early 2000s at the latest (these models will push it to mid 2000s) Overuse of drop leg stuff Most of them don't make sense for short duration direct action missions (I know ballcaps and stuff are cool, but they don't make sense when you know combat is coming) Lack of more modern comms Bloused pants everywhere Not many winter options out there No dual tube NVGs What I plan on releasing: Character models for various classes Customization via just using the reskinner tool and selecting different texture. Will be able to change upper body, lower body, helmet, gloves, and boots separately without needing to go into photoshop Probably throw in the blender and 3ds max files for people to play with Classes I've prototyped Assaulter Breacher/Demolition Support Gunner (light, 5.56mm) Support Gunner (heavy, 7.62mm) Marksman Grenadier Element Leader Some pics below of me prototyping/testing things, so not final.

  5. Its Amazing to announce Ghost Recon League will be starting again that too in 2025. I did have chat with old clans they seem to be interested. Ghost Recon League will be held in Vanilla i.e no mods just expansions Desert Siege & Island Thunder. Team =LT= is making relaunching their anticheat for the league & even website for registration of clans. Their Anti Cheat was popular in 2006. Thanks to @WNxvitoto he & myself would be League Admins. We also need some of your assistance & guidance to make this League running. Each team can have a maximum of 10 players per match and a minimum of 4 to participate in the ladder. We Ghost Recon Hideout are also recruiting both new & old players to form more teams for more participation.   6. I looked at the "date modified" for the .atr files and apparently I mistakenly overwrote them with the other guy's GR1 mod files that were meant to take the GR1 names. That's what I get for moving files without coffee!!! Did a fresh reinstall and got the *original* origmiss files. And yes, you're right about the weapon kit displays, I guess I overlooked that one. Thank you Eisenhauer!!!!!!! All fixed!

  8. 1) finally made that all the properties for all objects put it from all the invested collections too. Previously, it gave only objects that in the selected collections but did not work from invested. The same group is now working with invested objects. The grouping of all invested collections and objects in them does not immediately work in separate collections. That is, you need to highlight each invested collection and press the group then groups are grouped by everything that is in the selected collection. 2) The transfer operators are now divided into 2 and not in a heap as it was before. 1 transfers only selected objects and properties of the 2nd only for collections. If you highlight the object and click the objects of the collection will give a warning. 3) Added some descriptions to the operators. 4) Added 2 operators to set the type of linear controller for position and turn. For animations.

  14. We know the newer update didnt happen nor we saw apex mods online again in the forum. Wish that hard drive didnt break we would have seen probably best work of apex mods. Regardless Heroes Unleashed will always be forever best mod in all the games i played or will play hands down🙌. Do have to mention with recent ghost recon league that happened 2 months ago there were more than 70+ former GR players coming back again it was good tournament with 50+ matches over 7 teams. For the next tournament if it happens again i do actually have plans of tournament with smaller HU version fingers crossed. Do have to tell as long as our discord is going well for sure ghost recon will be alive and kicking as always, we will probably play for another 2 decades haha what a classic!! Apex mods just didn't make a mod its about perseverance of continuing to make a mod to respect all the great GR modders and serving the GR community. In our discord i see once in a while people asking is everthing ok with apex mods. Thanks to rocky for letting us know he is doing well. Over the years when i saw many people's astonishing reaction to one man behind development of HU for decades its insane. You are truly an inspiration for many apexmods and ofc my idol . So much bad news about Ubi recently, with employee court cases, financial mis-management etc etc. It's hard to believe they could fall from such great heights as they have some incredible IPs that gamers flock to every new instalment. I get the games industry is tough, but they had a very strong position and a huge market of loyal fans.

  16. Operations menu and campaign mission demo When you first launch V1035, you might notice the new Operations option on the main menu — right below Training. This option will take you to our new interface for viewing and selecting campaign missions (to be included and expanded in the future) via hotspots around the globe. This is also where you'll find our first campaign mission demo — "Silent Reach" — set on map Depot. This new demo represents a first pass on campaign missions — it is meant as a "vertical slice" of our projected gameplay experience, featuring AI teammates (admittedly very basic ones at this point) that can receive various types of orders, as well as multiple objectives (including demolitions, scouting/searching and high-value target assassination) and even a simple cutscene at the end (which can be skipped in single player or by the online host). This mission demo can be played with 3 AI team mates or 3 Steam friends. Controlling your AI team Although the friendly AI and its control interface are still rudimentary, your teammates can be ordered to: Fall In — Orders your team to regroup with and/or follow you. This is their default movement setting. Hold — Crouch and hold position. Move & Clear — Move to where you're currently pointing and take out any threats. Take Cover — Find nearby cover and crouch next to it. Go Loud — Take out any hostile contacts on sight. This is their default fire discipline setting. Go Silent — Do not engage unless spotted or shot at. The team will call out any contacts. Breach — Not functional yet. These were always the missing elements for me despite the tactical realism of GB. Now we are seeing the first iteration towards a full-blown GR experience and it's incredibly exciting. Congratulations to JSonedecker and the team - the years of work are coming together - wow! And the maps are looking fantastic too.

  17. So far Ghost Recon League is going smooth. Till now 7 clans have joined. Still they need to play more matches. Soon they will be one small mini one day round robin tournament. We have even made a public team called Ghost Brigade [GB] Where people even with busy schedule too can participate when they are available its ok if they fail to respond too. We kept it as easy so more people participate. Right now its 4 Spanish clans they are very much active & 3 english clans with just 1 being more active. So Hopefully we get few older clans or OG players can join again. So even a small favour by letting ur old GR friends or welcome if promoted. Its great how a small idea of organising league turned out to be amazing.   20. I'm excited about this game after reading the interview. I went to Steam and put it on my wishlist. I enjoy SP and co-op so I was happy to read there will be an SP aspect to it as well as PVP. With all the experience they have had in the gaming industry and military service hopefully it will be a huge success for them. Thanks for interviewing them Rocky.

It currently includes... <Finished attachments (more or less)> - 6b7 Russian infantry composite helmet (not kevler) - 6b7 with goggles up - 6b28 airborne/paratrooper VDV helmet (squarely one) - 6b28 with goggles up - Buttpack (in three different height position) - Rucksack - MG ammo box (worn on belt) - Buttpack and MG ammo boxes <Unfinished attachments (unfinished but usable)> - Kaska-1M Ukrainian composite helmet - Kaska-1M with goggles up - ZSH-1 type Special Force helmet These attachments are mainly designed around and positioned to work best on RS ("Russian") and GR (rebel) type models in Origmiss (as part of my WIP OPFOR modernization mod). Headgears are made with high-compatibility in mind for these models with helmet, beanie, or bandana modeled as part of their mesh, without too much compromise in the shape. As such there should be minimum amount of their headgear clipping though them. <Textures> - Modified RS faces with modern 3-point helmet straps (all 34 of them + some more) - Custom balaclava/masks and helmet strap templates As well as a mission that lets you view each of these attachments, and some more. I've also made a pack of custom gorka suit texture templates (partly inspired by a character from Ingeloop's Udmurtia Spetsnaz mod. My version is created anew from Wildcat's plain BDU texture). There's a kinda major design inaccuracy around the crotch, so I'll be working on improved versions when I have time. Kaska-1m helmet (model's shaping needs some improvement) 6b7 infantry helmet (we can say good bye to the old Soviet-era steel helmets, at last!) 6b28 paratrooper helmet (as famously worn by certain unmarked invaders) Satchel (texture as MG ammobox-pouch) Buttpack and satchel ZSH-1 helmet/Gorka suit

  27. Update - 2024 Dec 09 I have since added more stuff to the attachment pack, you can download the latest version from my MEGA folder link above. You can check the new attachments in the included mission "-Attachment QOB". Simply drop the file to your GR mods folder and activate it like any other mod. Mission has a "secret" enemy invasion phase where you can see the attachments in action. Just wait around for enemy to spawn (in about 3 minutes) and kill one of them. Here's a list of some of the new things: -FAST type high-cut helmet (plain, w headset, w goggles up, w battery box at the back. NVG is planned for later date, but no promises!) -Headset/headphones in two positions: high and low. -Baseball cap w/without headset -Altyn type helmet with/without shield 8up and down) -Improved 6b7 -Improved older Kaska 1m helmet (UVW mapping needs some improvement) -Newer Kaska (helmet) -Neck armor/guard attachments (I might create a version with higher poly-counter later, no promises) -Groin armor (early IOTV type), made as right-thigh attachment -Smersh type AK pouches -MG pouches with updated texture -VOG pouches for GP grenade launchers (waist sides (horizontal and vertical), thighs (needs improvement), and waist back -New, modernized Russian infantry skins wearing 6b23 body armor -6b23 armor texture -Updated gorka suit texture

  29. Addon changes and edits continue. Finally created dynamic lists that can be filled out of text files and not from code. Now sounds, destruction files are filled out of the text file and not from the file as it was before. It looks like a little 5 max. There, too, this is spelled out in the files. Ways set in the adjustments of the addon. debris.txt None,None,None,0 debris1.qob,box test,box test,1 debris2.qob,sphere test,sphere test,2 debris3.qob,pyramid test,pyramid test,3 debris_wooddoor1.qob,wood_door1,wood_door1,4 debris_wooddoor2.qob,wood_door2,wood_door2,5 debris_metaldoor1.qob,metal_door1,metal_door1,6 debris_metaldoor2.qob,metal_door2,metal_door2,7 debris_metaldoor3.qob,metal_door3,metal_door3,8 format. 1 What will be transferred to max, sound name or model file. 2 name in the list in the blender. 3 text for a clue. 4 Index in the order in the list. In my opinion, it somehow works. The operator of the group was converted. Now groups are created immediately for all collections and objects. But if the collection of invested, it is also created as a group. For example, if you create collections _1, _11, _111, _121 and create bags in them and insert into Max, when the operator is performed, grouping in Max will be created immediately as _1, _11, _111, _121 Each separately does not need to be grouped, but if in _11 there is another collection of the mountain, it will be created separately and from _11.

  30. 1) Added operator of properties from an object to a group. That is, as I understand it, when in 3DS Max created geometry and an assistant point and all this is grouped, for example 01_<n><door>door1, then the properties are as if set into this group. And when exporting, they go to the map file. 2)An operator has been added to create points of assistants from the collection. In fact, this creates a record for creating a Code script through Max to create these points, but it inserts a name and position from the packages into a blender. On how much from fbx the file these points do not work and 3ds Max hangs when importing had to make such a trick and when you press the operator, all dummies are hidden for the correct import of bags.
