  1. I love a bit of good news especially when its about people who are normally put in a bad light there was a report on yesterday in my local area that 3 teenagers saved a woman and her dog from her burning house. Nobody was hurt thanks to those three. considering that our area's news programs are very "anti youth" it was good to see news like that. This report gets me every time though, and then this report came some time after, and this one. if you live a life exposed to bad news then you're not living a life exposed to the truth. But the permanent decline of CoD, it's about freaking t

  2. Might be a repost, but I came across this old gem again today, and it still managed to brighten my day...

  3. Today I'll provide you all with another glimpse into the Heroes Unleashed development process... and my obvious insanity. I'm now in the process of replacing every single original actor and vehicle file including their models and textures (literally thousands of files in total), as well as adjusting all their references in missions, game types, etc., just to adhere to the new systematic (and hopefully more logical and helpful) naming convention I want to implement. Please wish me luck (and some mental strength), as this is far from trivial and may easily end up a complete mess if I los

  4. It's brought back the start menu, which is fully customizable and scalable, and the operating system now adapts to certain systems, rather than being one interface that works well tablets, but not so well on desktops or laptops. They've named it windows 10 as apparently windows 9 wouldn't do justice. still no word as to whether the rumours of it being a free OS are true or not, but it certainly looks promising... for now. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/09/30/microsoft_windows_10/ http://www.techradar.com/news/software/operating-systems/10-great-new-features-in-windows-10-1267365

  6. Many thanks for posting those links, Zee! I'm aware that we're moving off-topic here, but it's for a good cause, so here's an amazing imgur photo gallery that should manage to restore one's faith in humanity. Some samples: And for a daily dose of positive news, may I suggest visiting http://www.reddit.com/r/UpliftingNews/

  7. it's worth noting they are currently very close to putting a vaccine into testing, as far as I'm aware. it's amazing how the world is always overshadowed by bad news, and never good news, it's no wonder that depression will be the number 1 cause of death and severe disability by 2020. anyway, that's my 2 pennies worth, I don't think ebola is anything to really get our knickers in a twist about. at risk of going perhaps too political, I'll stop here

  8. Wow, they went from 8 straight to 10?!? I have no doubt this means the new Windows is 2(!) better than the old one!!!

  9. I was just about to make a Windows 10 Revealed topic, I guess you're faster Seems like it won't come out any time soon and I'd still have to put 80 euros on a new OS.

  10. Nice find, Wombat! And yes, Ubisoft sure know how to target their key audience with exquisite panache and impeccable taste. So what could possibly go wrong on their search for immersive gameplay? Seriously, by now it feels like beating a dead horse to make fun of Ubisoft's abysmal development philosophy, but I simply cannot seem to get over just how incomprehensibly moronic they keep acting. I mean, they are one of the largest and most successful (in business terms) development outfits out there, they're swimming in money from all those cash-grabbing pay-2-win

  11. wait, I just noticed something he says in the "last generation" presumably meaning before xbox one and PS4 were released, "we only had static lights..." what a bloody load of ######! we've had dynamic lighting systems since at least 2003! they talk about "immersion" but really watch the video, it's not immersion at all, it's "look at our pretty graphics! aren't they cool! our "volumetric lighting" is so freaking awesome that it looks flat and dull, because we overdid it!" if you want to truly immerse a player, you need more than just the pretty graphics and the in your face UI; it's the

  12. My excitement for this game went out the window when Ubisoft let slip that they have no intention of making the PC version outshine console versions.

  13. I laughed so hard I cried... it's just going to be another watchdogs only with a more dull storyline and worse optimization for PC because apparently, "next gen" is an excuse to port the game so sloppily, it makes grandma's kisses look dry!

  14. every once in a while, there's a GTA pack sale, where you can get GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas and GTA4 (with DLC's) for 5 euros I think. I bought it and really I only bought it for the GTA4, but I haven't had any time to play it
