	For someone who first cut their teeth on Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear, this gives me hope. For those who played or know the evolution, the series eventually switched to Urban Operations where the environment became a little more outdoorsy. A year or two later saw the dawn of the original ghost recon...

</p>

<p>
	Just found out Origin is no longer available
</p>

<p>
	Installed EA
</p>

<p>
	Now, want to install my retail copy/ DVD-ROM of Medal of Honor Warfighter.  Unfortunately, it keeps installing Origin first.  Since Origin is no more, I can't install the DVD-ROM now.
</p>

<p>
	If I install thru EA, there is no Menu...it just launched into one of the Missions.  Can't get into the Options to change Resolution or Audio,  Interaction is very limited and cannot pick up ammo or weapon
</p>

<p>
	Is there a work around?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks

<p>
	A pretty obscure title, G.B.R is interesting because it clearly wants to copy G.R.A.W, it came out in 2008 and checking some screenshots (Such as IMFDB's page for the game or other places like moby games.) shows how the HUD is pretty heavily based on the FPS versions of GRAW's hud. (As well as the graphics looking inferior to the original G.R.A.W)
</p>

<p>
	I've only gotten to mission 2 because the game has 12 missions and it badly tries to copy G.R.A.W's "Tactical-Lite" gameplay but does so poorly.
</p>

<p>
	The game was so obscure that it was only a month ago that someone actually did a full walkthrough of it:
</p>

<div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo">
	<div>
		<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="113" width="200" data-embed-src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/64HmzphaNTk?list=PLCzdCj0vC-69dHX2RAfsfRP5JjP0_zbzy"></iframe>
	</div>
</div>

<p>
	(The LP is from a German creator but it's based on the english version.)
</p>

<p>
	Simply put, G.B.R makes some truly awful design choices that are baffling.
</p>

<p>
	For starters, no checkpoints, or saving, yep, every mission is like Rainbow Six 1, you die (and you only control yourself so it's not even like Rainbow Six where you could play another opperative if you die.) and it's back to the start.
</p>

<p>
	Secondly, when you buy equipment for a mission, only your loadout is "saved",extra ammo, teammates and armor all have to be bought again, this means if the game crashes on starting a mission, you just wasted money and will have to grind more money, (Thankfully you can quit missions mid-game and earn money that way.) worse still, even the very first level basically requires extra ammo and armor to be purchased, you only have *two* spare magazines for an AK and Glock if you don't buy extra ammo, in stark contrast to the old Clancy games, where you got alot of ammo and extra ammo was more for doubling down/lone wolfing.
</p>

<p>
	So essentially if you quit a mission after dying (or if the game crashes), congrats, you have wasted a ton of in-game money, thankfully the first level can be done with only a small amount of equipment but it's really bad. (And I couldn't find where the game stores your playthrough's money so my only option was to grind it back up instead of cheating myself more money if I crashed.)
</p>

<p>
	As you can see in the video, audio quality for guns is terrible. (The AKS-74U for instance uses one of the worst silenced gun shot noises I've heard, even if it's not equipped with a suppressor.)
</p>

<p>
	You can also buy every gun from the start and while you have two weapon slots, you can equip any gun, there's actually nothing stopping you equipping the best weapons together. (Why take a Glock and a AKS-74U when you can literally take a PKM and SVD together from the start.)
</p>

<p>
	I doubt anyone has, but has anyone here also played this pretty bad G.R.A.W Clone? I am kinda dissapointed it turned out badly, if only because I like the idea of Tactical Shooters with other nations instead of just the USA over and over. (it's why I liked ARMA 2 since they had the British Army, Mercenaries and the Czech Army as DLC factions with their own campaigns and why in GR1 I really like how the Specialist wear their old uniforms/use weapons from their country.)
</p>

<p>
	Still, to give this game (that apparently uses alot of stock animations from the FPS creator it's from), some credit compared to modern games, you have basic squad commands and they work, so that's more than your average FPS game, still, it's poorly balanced and ultimately not very good, I grabbed it while it was on Gamersgate digitally and it's now gone from there.

	My squad has picked up the pre-alpha version of Ground Branch and are playing it in co-op. IMHO, BlackFoot has done a really good job on this. So far, it seems like a game where you can absolutely play it in a very tactical fashion. There a many little touches that add to the realism of the combat. And there is no HUD or player tags whatsoever. We've chalked up a lot of TKs. <span><img alt=":D" data-emoticon="true" height="20" loading="lazy" src="https://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/uploads/emoticons/default_biggrin.png" srcset="https://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/uploads/emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x" title=":D" width="20"> The loadouts are very detailed and the various options definitely affect gameplay. I know there are plenty of games where projectiles are objects with volume and ballistic physics of some sort (Skyrim, for example) but I was wondering if any FPS engine games actually generate or at least calculate bullets as having a volume, a velocity, and an arc? The last (bullet drop/windage) I have seen in games, but travel-time and bullet dimensions are unknown in any FPS that I am aware of. Obviously it would be a lot of extra stuff for the engine to calculate, but for long range shots travel-time really <em>does</em> matter; and having bullets with real diameter would also prevent silly pixel peeking (nothing wrong with shooting through a crack, but a 1mm crack no).

<p>
	 <strong>Anyone here played it?</strong>
</p>

<p>
	It can be more frustrating than the Battlefield series, it's got something in common with OGR though I can't quite put my finger on it, nevertheless, I thought I'd try cause I can't stop playing it...
</p>

<p>
	PUBG is a battle royal that's as much about desition making as it is about shooting or accuracy as you must always remain aware of the shrinking player area that can be difficult to predict, not to mention navigate, all the while scavenging for weapons, attachments, armor, health packs and yes, transport for when you need to move a long distance to remain within the player zone. It's absolutely riveting stuff when the key to being the last one standing, or lying, as the case often is at the end of a round, is not how fast you can aim your gun, not how accurate you are at throwing grenades, but how well you match your tactics with the loadout that you previously looted earlier on in the game. I won my first "chicken dinner" (round) using only a red dot sight! I kept low and chose my time to engage at close range to achieve the highest chance of success as I only had a very  basic loadout, I did have a silencer and that sealed the fate of others who chose to engage me at distance with a 15x PM scope, I simply through smoke and positioned myself inside the zone waiting for him to be forced to move, it didn't turn out well for the sniper facing my fully optioned Tommy gun on auto at under twenty yards and no one heard a thing, in fact, I doubt anyone saw me apart from the lone sniper who wished he didn't.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="pubg3.0.jpg" class="ipsImage" height="666" src="https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/aqLmOJ1qQLBEtymLRazHvQLwkCo=/0x0:2560x1442/1200x800/filters:focal(1049x307:1457x715)/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/56143795/pubg3.0.jpg" width="1000" /></p>

<p>
	There are no two rounds that will turn out the same, you can go lone wolf or in teams of two, four or even in squads of eight with the total number of players on the map at approximately 100, however, that number drops fast because even though size of the map is huge, players tend to go to the same places where loot is known to be plentiful and shoot it out early. Others spread out purposelessly to avoid engagement, others just load up a shotgun with a chock and lay and wait for an unsuspecting looter to arrive and become the looted lol. There really is no end to the tactics you can devise in this early access game that's taking the world by storm.
</p>

<p>
	As far as graphics are concerned it looks somewhat like an updated version of OGR, or rather, more what I would have preferred for the GR series to have turned out, I'm not much for level up systems like BF including players lighting up all over the map and giving away  positions from UAV's &amp; drones, whatever. In PUBG you give your position away by engaging your enemy inappropriately or making mistakes, timing is everything; when to set a trap &amp; ambush, when to loot or when to hunt, when to move and when to camp, or perhaps you'll drive? That always turns out interesting lol
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="02-pubg.w710.h473.2x.jpg" class="ipsImage" height="666" src="http://pixel.nymag.com/imgs/daily/selectall/2017/05/02/02-pubg.w710.h473.2x.jpg" width="1000" /></p>

<p>
	Anyway I rate it 9 out of ten chickens and I'm not alone, it's about to overtake CSGO as the most popular online game selling almost five million copies in five months since it's release and a hundred million in revenue. In fact, <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2017/07/19/microsoft-rides-playerunknowns-battlegrounds-popularity.html" rel="external nofollow">Microsoft just secured a deal with Bluehole</a> releasing it on Xbox in an effort to kick the sh!# out of sony.
</p>

<p>
	Well, I'm off to play another round of PUBG, please add me on steam and team up to share in a "chicken dinner!" together.

		<p>
			This is an In-depth analysis/review of the original Doom, and by extension the examination of the design aesthetic that is quite unique to this game and the genre it helped define… or should I say “subgenre”, since, as the FPS games evolved, they’ve distanced themselves from this specific quality. And no, I’m not just talking about how in Doom there is a skillful gameplay with no cutscenes, dialogues or story (although it is certainly a part of it) – it actually goes slightly deeper than that.
		</p>

		<p>
			In the “theory” segment of the video I describe this game as a “mindless game of pure gameplay” but it’s important to understand that I put a special significance into this particular wording, specifically the word “mindless”. Someone might justifiably call Super Mario World or Half-life as mindless games of pure gameplay, since their stories lack a certain degree of depth, however when referring to Doom I actually mean that the gameplay itself is mindless. In Super Mario World or Half-Life the gameplay is designed around constantly introducing new mechanics which you have to adapt to – you constantly have to learn new things and that is what prevents this gameplay from being purely mindless – you’re constantly mentally engaged in the game. Doom lays out everything it has mechanically by the half-way point and even that it does so slow – you might not even notice anything changing, and then tries to juggle around the established mechanics in hopes of you being distracted from the fact that there wasn’t anything new introduced for hours on end.<br>
			The key here is the phrase: “It creates a repetitive gameplay that manages to be interesting without becoming overly involving” because it highlights the true nature of Doom’s timeless quality: it isn’t boring enough to make you stop playing, yet isn’t mentally engaging enough to warrant your conscious participation. It sort of strikes a certain cord with the player (considering that he likes the game enough to play), almost akin to putting the player in a trance of sorts, in which he doesn’t think about anything in the game at hand, yet at the same time distracted enough to not drift away either, since he needs to pay attention to what sort of combination of familiar mechanics (in other words, a pattern) he will have to deal with. He basically remains in this mindless state of “trance” (for the lack of a better word) of running around a maze with nothing guiding his actions but pure impulse – there is no conscious choice happening here, but a lot of subconscious ones – and that becomes an almost therapeutic experience.
		</p>

		<p>
			There are almost no other games (outside of its genre of old-school Doom clones) that truly capture that niche design aesthetic. They either becoming too repetitive to prevent you from drifting away (games like Tetris, Robotron or Kaboom) or too diverse to be mindless and meditative in the first place (Games like Half-Life, Super Mario World, Starcraft and so on), which is not bad in itself but it highlights the place of Doom in the larger scheme of gaming as a whole. That is actually why I used so many comparisons to Wolfenstein 3D and the more advanced shooters – I wanted to pinpoint the sweet spot between the two extremes that Doom occupies. So all in all – in this particular aspect lays the true beauty of Doom and this “feeling” is incredibly hard to pinpoint and describe, so hopefully I’ve done a decent enough job of at least somehow capturing this “mindless trance” of Doom.
		</p>

		<p>
			Oh… and about the old games monologue at the end… <br>
			I’m a sentimental guy, what can I say <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="true" height="20" src="https://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png" srcset="https://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/uploads/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20"></p>

But the maps are cool. open to go anywhere..you like within the confines of your mission.<br> <br>Pro: The action is constant and sometimes slow, depends on you. The graphics are gorgeous, love the daytime and nighttime missions. I've died several times because they issue you a weak, puny MP5. They could have started us with an M4 with Acog sight or better.<br> <br>Cons: the starting weaponry. You have to earn credits to buy better hardware and thus far, the most powerful weapon I recall is the AK-47 or the MP5 version in your safe house. The game in general is a knockoff of the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier in many ways. First, the over shoulder 3rd person view. no 1st Person view thus far I have found out. this hampers your accuracy.<br> <br>We start out as a puny level 1 agent and in a matter of an hour play or so, I'm a level 3 I think. I think UBISOFT did the players a disservice of giving the player an MP5 to start with. with this division game, I pictured having something with a higher velocity as a 5.56mm assault rifle. I would have created a feature, again if I were UBISOFT to create an agent of a certain style. sharpshooter, assault soldier (M4, G36K or something better), or an MK48. You get in contact with some soldiers that have a logo acronym on their helmet but the acronym slips me. they are stupid and worthless when you need your 6 watched. The game appears to be a massive Multiplayer game with a campaign style of play. It's still a rail shooter in that, you are lead by the hand from one objective to the next. no chance of trying to complete objectives in different orders and THIS is what crippled the Ghost Recon series after GR 2001.<br> <br>early conclusion and verdict: thus far its a 6-10 stars. They basically took the GR:Future Soldier model and created large maps but kept to the scripted, lead you by the hand from objective to objective. They could atleast have weaponry laying about from bad guys that you can use. Instead we get the usual, get points/credits to purchase better equipment which kills the stealth aspect of the game because you need to blast every bad guy in your AO to get points it would appear. This is an early assessment of the game thus far and I'll post more as time goes on. Expect to die a lot as the enemy are tough to kill, basically a bunch of gang bangers who shoot with their pistols sideways like in the movies and takes a lot of rounds to kill. I have found that shorter bursts do help with accuracy and easier to kill. But all I find is just garbage and not weapons.  <br> <br> I'm sorry but I'm beginning to think that GR: Wildlands will be modeled after the Division. this is my fear at the moment. I sure hope I'm wrong. From what I have seen in the Videos and what I have seen in the Division Videos and what I've played of the full version thus far... I'm hesitant to think Wildlands will be what we think it will be.</p>

<p>I'm looking for a collection of shooters (Players) who still play Splintercell conviction. I'm looking for COOP games in the denial ops style games. move slow, take out lights, neutralize bad guys and just have fun. my username should you want to link up is:</p><p>"Black6p"</p><p>feel free to respond and I'll be willing to use my Microsoft excel 2016 and create a spread sheet with RL names, usernames and country of residence to help build a list of players. I can constantly update it with new members and edit info and I think I could drag the file as long as it is under 1.46MB or if it gets bigger, I can email it out and let you all disseminate it accordingly.</p><p>Cheers!</p><p>Papa6</p>

<p><a href="http://opcoin.hl2files.com" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Operation: CO-IN</strong></a> for Half-Life 2 is one of the most realistic mods in development!</p><p>
</p><p>
It is based on modern war (so you GR fans might like it <img src="https://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png" alt=":)"> ) of the Infantry vs. Guerrillas. There is not a specific country represented by the Infantry (the default will be the USMC), but you can customize the appearance of the weapon and player models to suit your preference. This means that someone playing as the Americans can still play with other people with Canadian, British, or German, and so on.</p><p>

The mod is going to be 'realistic' in terms of...</p><p>
</p><p>
- Features (iron site aiming, damage, etc.)</p><p>
- Map environments will be based on real world locations (fight from Iraq, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, and many more!)</p><p>
- Map objectives (capture and hold multiple areas of the map: could be a village, city block, or single building)</p><p>
- Teamwork (teams are broken down into Squads; even a Squad commander) - ideal for Clans!</p><p>
- Military Advisors who all are serving members of the Military (Mod leader/founder actually in the Canadian Army)</p><p>
