Using the GRAW2 Launcher to configure a SADS (Stand Alone Dedicated Server)

Run the Launcher once on the server Click start, close the "success" message box that pops up telling you you're configured to play on the game/share network.

If your SADS is installed in a default destination folder, the launcher will find it and run the client as it's suppose to, use the " > Kill" button to quickly shut down the client before it starts.

Other stuff

If you're running a router and firewall? you will need to open a Port: default SADS port is UDP 16250

Don't used the cheat scan! set <scan_for_cheats value="false"/> in your dedicated_game_info.xml or players will need to uninstall mods to join even though that cannot use them.

If you want to change the default port to run multiple instances of the SADS add <port value="port here"/> to your dedicated_game_info.xml

Don't forget - running multiple instances with an OS above XP sp3 needs special consideration regarding C:\Users\your-servers-username\AppData\Local\graw2 you'll need to make multiple versions of the GRAW2 folder and direct each instances to it's respective folder, I've not been successful at this method.

I take the easy way out and use XP for running multiple instances.

If you are having any trouble seeing, joining or playing on the server? Try...

No firewall

Use port UDP - 16250 for testing

Ping the server host from outside the hosting subnet - get your friends to type ping your hosting ip address in a CMD window and hit enter

Use a port checker to make sure UDP - 16250 is open and reachable on the servers host router

Hope this helps

i have a small problem with game log files created by graw2 dedicated servers.

Graw2 dedicated servers create a match_info.xml file after each match played which records details and statistics about the game. After taking a closer look at the file(s) created I noticed that there is an error in this file. Where the file lists the map name, it uses the name of the map thats next to play, not the map that was just played.

eg

Your server has 4 maps - map1, map2, map3 and map4. You play map1 with friends and after the game, check the match_info.xml file and it records the game but for map2 not map1.

For some reason which im hoping people here can help me with, the server records the stats with the name of the next map in rotation, not the map just played.

Reason im asking for this assistance is im building a web site to read these files and database the stats when i noticed this discrepancy. I have tested this on 2 dedicated servers and both do the same thing in the match_info.xml file.

Has anyone else noticed this..??

Is there a fix such as a configuration option..??

Should I just not bother recording map information from these files..??

I have a dedicated server up and can get a single custom map like asylum to work with no problems but when I try to use a file that has a map with different features (like the map with daylight and then the map with night time) it won't work. The map is coop_bogie_sanctuary_v2 and I can't get any of the maps with the v2 at the end of the name (I'm believe that means there are several maps in the file) to work. The server won't even start up. I have placed them in the custom level folder. Is there something else I'm suppose to do for the maps with v2 in the name??

I am trying to get a GRAW2 Dedicated Server going on my WINDOWS 2008 R2 Server. I am doing that with the Steam Version of Graw2, but that shouldnt be the issue here.

Followed the Ded. Server thread here in the forum, did it like described there. Now, when I start the Server using the dedicated .exe, it opens the DOS Window where it says that its loading the Server, then it says something about the Computer's cores, and then it only repeats on and on:

I have a control panel I log onto inorder to add mods, maps, and make any changes to the server.

Here are the different areas in the control to do this:

Command Line Changer

Default config file

file manager

I've asked the UGS to install GRAW2 as a server (which they did) but neither UGS nor I have a clue as to how to set it up. It just doesn't seem to run in the same way as the other servers I set up.

I would really appreciate if someone could give me a hand with this.

I've recently bought a copy of GRAW2 in a "bargain-bin" but could find no fix for this major show-stopping problem, despite hours of searching. After a lot of diagnostics and testing I have created this fix. If the old lags around here already know about this then "..please move on, this is not the thread you are looking for..".

Navigate to your "Ghost Recon Advanced WarFighter 2" folder.

Edit the "context-standalone.xml" file and add the following line:

hello:

hopefully they can help. We have problems with some maps on our servers. When we map as TDM SIERRA - CALAVERA - DOMINION and duel mode in our server team lose the connection when they change round.

We have made a complaint to the company that provides the service that we have seen other servers do not have problems with these maps, the company asked us which operating system they use for their servers if windows or linux and if they use any special settings or additional plugins.

I have also noticed that on other servers when they change from one map to another is very fast almost instant change in our servers instead must wait more than 15 seconds.

They can help us see what the problem with our servers? or tell us if you have to put some special settings or different from the one that comes default on servers?

While our TDM server is one of the best in terms of connection we can not use some maps in TDM that the connection is dropped. Thank you very much for all that you can provide.

I have successfully set up a server and have played a few games on it, but I have a question about matches versus rounds. I can find no clear indication about how these variables function, within the 'dedicated_game_info.xml'.

I take it that the 'match' is the entire game that will be played on any given map. I understand that a round would be a sub-set of that, a single round in the match. Thus, both 'match_length' and 'round_length' make sense, from that perspective.

What I do not understand is how one can set the number of rounds that exist within a match. Is it always two rounds, per match, meaning the 'match_length' should always be double the 'round_length'? Or, if I set the 'match_length' to a value three times as great a 'round_length', will there end up being three rounds in the match?

Hi,

I run a small dedicated server with only coop maps.

I've noticed that when the last connected player leaves the server, the map ends and the next map is loaded.

Is there a way to leave the map as it was?

Because some maps are really huge and sometimes my team and I don't have enough time to finish it, so we all leave to get some sleep and we'd like to continue it the next day...but not from the start

Is it a parameter or something?

Thank you in advanced

HI,

Any one knows how can i control my server so the other players don't end up with such high pings as 450 to 700 ?

Its very frustrating because after about 8 players are logged in pings just get that high and they end up leaving the server.

My server is a normal connection, not LAN .

thanks !
