Just spent a while deleting hundreds and hundreds of spam posts!

Seeing Ubisoft upgrade their forums a while back losing every single historical post in the process, followed by the crazy silly decision of shutting down their forums totally in April this year, followed by the even sillier decision to think that Discord was an appropriate replacement, gave me the motivation to give these forums, the longest running largest Ghost Recon forum on the planet, a huge update.

I'm hugely proud of this place. 

Don't ask me what they are, but enjoy the new forum features and new look!

A number of sites have already gone offline and although steps are being taken to address the issue, I have a feeling it is only a matter of time before this site is also infect and will become unreachable.

This was back when PC Gamer ran an article on all the GR mods.

Some interesting bits of info here - for example, the first use of helicopters in GR is mentioned.

To make it compatible requires a re-write by a PHP programmer who can replace outdated code with new compliant code.

This is still a very popular area of GhostRecon.net with '000s of visitors every month.

My intention is to crowdfund for the cost of hiring a PHP programmer to update this code. This will be publicised on the download section shortly.

But anyhow, we now have over 120,000 posts in the modding forums for original Ghost Recon alone, meaning that roughly every fifth post (out of over 600,000) on this site is about modding good old classic Ghost Recon from 2001.

What a testament to the longevity of this beautiful game, and to the lasting enthusiasm it still invokes after all this time.

To try and track the issue down they forum theme has been reverted to the default white scheme. No member should be seeing the special dark wildlands theme we have been using - only a standard white design.

Let's see how we get on with this, if there are any issues - let me know!

Forum Statistics

How many of the mod authors agreed to you selling their mods? I assume they intended them to be free. If the links are all broken to force people to buy that usb, that is highly illegal, unless they signed something saying it was ok.

It is sad i cannot play any of the awesome mods because of this.
