		Just started playing the mod, beat like 3 missions, and I just wanted ask something.
	</p>

	<p>
		Each soldier has like 350 kits or whatever, but it honestly feels like, in a game like this, anything without a scope that can magnify is just straight up inferior. Enemies notice you from so far away and basically instakill with one shot. Like, seriously. It feels like the only options from the kit selection worth picking are the first 10, because at least that primary weapon actually lets you zoom in an exceptional distance, and lets you be able to reliably aim and fire at targets, unlike everything else, where you'd have better luck trying to hit a fly with a dart than trying to aim and hit at the 3 pixels kms off in the distance.

		Can I ask, what am I doing wrong here? I know there's no way that this creator of this mod put in all that effort to make so many kits usable only to have 99% of them be worthless comparatively, so I need to know, in what situations would I use the other kits that only have weapons WITHOUT these high powered scopes? I honestly can't really see any meaningful difference between all the various assault rifles (all fire bullets quickly and accurately), so why wouldn't I just pick the option that actually lets me see what I'm shooting? Same applies to all the kits with primary weapons that AREN'T assault rifles. Like, why choose anything with a shotgun/grenade launcher as a primary if I can get it as a secondary and have a far, FAR more generally effective weapon in my primary slot? Everything dies in one shot regardless most of the time, so like, why not always have the primary choice be a weapon that has a higher clip, far more range, and faster firing speed, ESPECIALLY when the other choices can still be taken as secondaries anyway? Heck, the support class as a whole feels kinda useless due to this reason, with no magnification scopes or anything.

		Also, is there any way for me to command individual soldiers to go/stay somewhere instead of having them always follow me? Probably not, but figure it was worth asking.

<p>Any one know how to build a new version of reconlog that will ork with windows 10? </p><p>I know that it wont detect the hacks most the new idiots are using but would like to be able to record game play for so many days or start end game from reconlog ingame admnin or set up other users. It used to work with win7 an 8.1 except on a crash the dedi wont restart on new version of windows but can still change mods. </p>

	Unlikely to ever be achieved again, by any human being, including myself.

	At Insertion, 114 enemies with 41 enemy fireteams. I never thought I would make it further than even a quarter of the map. Over half of the enemy forces equipped with AT4 primaries. I expected Doom, and rightfully so. It was well that I had my IT Specialist squad, well equipped.

	So, all the time, I was ready and not ready to die....Mostly wanting to get as many of them, and as far as I could. You don't know how many times I've been spawning in and getting ed up, right off the bat. Going into the Jaguar Maze, I wasn't expecting much different.

	You know when you have an active waypoint, and your squad member following gets stuck on a corner? (only happens with a pair, not 3)
</p>

<p>
	Well, it turns out that you can actively use this "bug", to split your squads. I've been using it for the past few years. I lost the 2 on Charlie near the beginning. Then went through the Maze for the rest of the map with my squads split. Finishing this map with 6 Ghosts on SP (without respawns), would have been impossible otherwise.

	Here's how it works. You stop at a corner and go Advance at all Costs, then put a waypoint somewhere, you run around the corner or boulder until the guy behind gets stuck. But, most often, you switch to the guy and run him backwards (because they are generally decent about avoiding getting stuck when they're close to you). You can watch the map while you're running to see when/if the other team member stops. (I moved Page up/down to Y &amp; U keys, to be able to switch with ease.)

	The key is, when you want to switch from that squad, you have to put them on Hold, so they don't go for the waypoint. When you switch back to them from another squad, you have to put them on Advance at all Costs again, because the waypoint order will be removed if you advance while you're still on Hold.

	Squad splitting is such a game changer, it's hard to describe. To be able to have one Ghost on point, you can count on more stealth, and take more risks when it comes to Reconnaissance. Dying in single file is far superior to doing it in pairs! haha

Firstly, apologies if this shouldn't really be in the "Off-Topic" forum, but I'm sure it will be moved accordingly.</p><p>

Secondly, hello! How are things? Did you miss me? What's been happening? And, does anyone really play GR still???</p><p>

Thirdly, (and the reason for my post) after 3 years I've just re-installed GR. It's been sitting under my PC gathering dust, looking at me, calling me, yearning to be played - and I gave in. I fell under its spell - again. All the mods are back on my hard drive - and I'm still rubbish!</p><p>
</p><p>
So, apart from GR, is there anything else that just wont go away in your life? I mean in a nice way (don't wont any unsavoury addiciton stories or anything like that.....)</p><p>

	Hi there! Long time GR fan here playing it to this day.

	I just discovered that a console version of the game (PS2 or Xbox, can't remember) has a "quick move" command in the first-person interface, like contemporary titles. This is the sole thing I miss from the original PC game - I love the overhead command map, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it feels cumbersome. 
</p>

	Is there a mod for implementing such a feature on PC?

	P.S: actually, I also miss smoke grenades from the game. Think it was a grave absence considering the game's theme. If anyone knows of a mod that puts it in, lemme know too.
