Hi,

I've been trying to change the camo of each individual Ghost and all was going well until I realized the GRAW2 engine defines one camo for a set of gear and uses it for the rest of the team.

For instance, Jenkins uses Torso 2 in the game files. So does Ramirez. Jenkins' camo is set to multicam but Ramirez' is the coyote camo (slightly more yellow than standard ACU.) The torso on Jenkins is overridden by Ramirez' camo, as coyote instead of multicam.

To fix this, what I tried to do is create "new" armor pieces. There are only 2 holsters, 4 hip pieces, and 4 torso pieces. I tried to extend them to six corresponding to the character's gear, but every time I try to do it I get an error when loading a game and it crashes to the desktop. I've tried everything under the sun that the game files make clear. I point the textures to the original, made copies of the original to correspond to their number. I've linked their materials to the valid file but anything I do still crashes the game.

I've tried to reverse engineer Brettzie's mod since it uses new models, but I've had no luck trying to design mine like his.

Anyone know what to do? Help would be greatly appreciated.

My qpologies if this has been asked before.

you know how GRAW2 rather than have a set texture map for the characters with one camo like GRAW 1 did, GRAW 2 uses a selection system in which swatches of seamless camo are applied to a selection map.

is there a way of changing this selection map back to a diffuse and stop the swatches being applied?

i'm sorry if this made no sense to you.

so if you've read this post before i changed it i'll just say that i figured out the camo problem by just reskinning the dds files directly but the problem still remains with Beasley's and Ramirez's heads not showing up when i switched their models from the 3.0 outfits back to the 1.4-1.47 outfits which are the outfits that the mercs use but with the custom headgear. the headgear works fine but the actual heads don't render. I was able to fix it before by giving both of them Jenkins head but i can't seem to figure it out this time i'm not sure if anyone that can help me still watches this forum but any help would be greatly appreciated. I will update this post if i figure it out.

I am new to this part of modding, so I hope someone can fairly quickly/easily tell me where to look.

I have made the folders the same as how the folders in the Bundle are set up and removed all XMB files. I opened the Atlas.dds and made some changes to it in Photoshop and resaved (not renamed) the file in DDS format. One would think this is all that is needed to immediately see the changes in the game, but...nope.

Anyone can lead me in the right direction or explain why this will not work for me?

Hi all,

I was wondering if some of you who have knowledge of this can help me out a bit. I have been experimenting with changing and adding some new groups and characters, but so far I haven't had any (noticable) luck.

Can anyone of you tell me which files I need to edit to, for instance, add a whole new character? It does not need to have it's own Diesel file of course, but how would I go about to add one and pick and choose my ow set (head, body, gear, etc)?

I have tried adding a character by using the Extra_Groups.xml and changing the Groupmanager.xml, but my characters do not seem to show up in the editor's Human list??

Thx.

Hi

This is my first time posting here, although I have been following the site for about 2 years now. I have downloaded and enjoyed hundreds of excellent mods for OGR and GRAW1&2. This is by far one of the best community out there.

I always wanted a very specific look and design for the GRAW Ghosts. IMO they looked like Regular Infantry with advanced gear. I always envisioned them as a Highly Trained SOF kind of unit, equipped with the bleeding edge technology. The Ghosts in the Future Soldier E32010 Demo came the closest to that vision...with an nice mix of future and real life.

I'd like to translate some of that character design into GRAW 2. Now I scoured the forum for a simple tutorial on how to extract a base character model, make simple additions to it and then import it back into the engine. Unfortunately I was not very successful...I couldn't make heads or tails of the terms being used and '.xml' went right over my head. A lot of the links were broken and images were not showing. In this regard I'd appreciate ANY help.

My main objective is to make simple changes to the SP Ghost models...change their rig, their armour a bit...maybe add a new helmet, monocles, Balaclava masks etc. I am hoping you guys can help with this.

TO MODS: If this topic has already been started I really apologise..but I couldn't find one. Feel free to lock the thread if that is the case, but please direct me to the links

Thanks and Cheers!

Hello. I need some help with skinning the Ghost characters. I'm using Brettzies 2.05 OTS unbundled and I wanted to change the old-school ghost's camo scheme to look something like this:

http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs15/f/2007/039/d/d/Walting_in_the_snow____by_HaVoCMaN.jpg

I've got Mitchell's gear rigged up to look almost identical (details are ######) to the pic. The other ghosts look a bit different but they all have a running SF theme.

The problem is, whenever I open the atlas.dds file, all I get is a whole lot of transparent layers and mipmaps. The normal maps show alright. I'm using GIMP with a DDS plugin. Should I get Adobe Photoshop or something? It's just that I've been using GIMP for a long time now and I'm pretty much averted from trying out other programs. xD

Anyhow, the only thing I wanted to change was the jacket; make it fleece-black; and the vest, kneepads and boots; make them khaki.

I would like to request 2 new re-skins for Brettzies new weapon pack 2.05 ots version. Since brettzies released the new pack which let you play in 3rd person, i finally want to request a skin where you can see your own character with it (besides your teammates). Anyways, the 2 skins i'm request are both MARPAT - but a woodland and desert version.

For both skins, i would like it if the equipment (kevlar, bags, ammo pouches, etc) are done in a coyote brown. I would also like if the mich 2001 helmet was the color tan. Now for the Woodland version, i would like the boonie cap to be done in woodland marpat and the cap in OD green. For desert marpat, the boonie would be desert marpat and the cap would be tan.The last thing i would like to request is IF the gloves can be redone to look like green nomex gloves. I think it would give off a great finished look in the end for the skin
