Nobody seems to post in here anymore, so I guess I will. I'm a musician, and occasionally post my stuff on the 'net. This is a track I did, based on a short story. The drums are NI modern drums, played by me on a midi kit. The other instruments are all real instruments, also played by me. Recorded and mixed in Presonus Studio one. Can't recall what plugins I used. Probably some Slate Digital stuff, given the way the kick drum thumps. I know there's too much low end. I was on a huge low end kick (no pun intended) at that time.

Life Begins

If you feel like doing so, then leave comments. If not, then that's cool too.

Its 16 velocity-sensitive pads are perfect for playing the drum sounds in your favorite software, launching loops and samples, or even controlling video projections—and applying pressure to the pads can generate any MIDI controller you wish. Trigger Finger also gives you 8 knobs and 4 faders that are freely assignable to MIDI parameters such as volume, pan, pitch, and effects. Pre-programmed maps for Reason, Live, GM Drum, XG Drum, iDrum, and more make setup a snap—and full programmability lets you customize the unit to fit your needs. About a 5 minute long track I made in FL Studio 5 and 6 (5 stopped working so I had to get 6 halfway through). Since it wouldn't export right, I had to cut a lot of the bass/distortion out of the bassline so it doesn't sound as cool, and after exporting to an mp3 the very end sounds a bit scratchy, but hopefully you can get over that. Stupid mp3's.

Hi

Me and my friend are working on a school project. We are making a flash movie and need some sounds off falling bombs, explosions, an airplane engine and maybe some screaming people.

Where can I find these sounds legally?

I'm thinking of recording the airplane engine sound from Battlefield 1942 using fraps. But how do I remove the video and keep the sound?

If removing the video and keeping the sound is possible then I think I can get the rest of the sounds myself.

Also I need some Winston Churchill speeches too and those I can't get through fraps. Must be sound speeches of course

Would appreciate fast answers. Have to be done with this movie in 4 weeks.

I found this program called Audacity. It is a program for sound editting that has many excellent features; for example, you can change the tempo, speed, and pitch of the sound. You can copy, cut and paste sound pieces and put them anywhere else, and even change Real Media files to MP3. And the best of all, it's completly free! Don't pay a single penny!

I hope it helps, especially for modding the game.

anyways the total budget for this recording session was exactly zer0 dollars and zer0 cents so if you wonder why it sounds 'raw' there ya go

I realize there is no real reliable way to do this without possibley taking instruments with it, but i said id give it a try. I have acid pro 4.0, and i was just wondering is there a better way to do this than just using a plugin?
Yes, now is indeed the time. Time for what, you ask. Well, tonight is time for the long awaited embrace....

I have finally finished and uploaded my track formerly known as "Ghost Recon: Far Out". I have renamed the track to "Sin-R-G" ('synergy' to you and I).

I didn't manage to get in all of the samples I hoped to get in.

The overall structure of the track is the same - start out with a bit of breakbeat. I then play 2 Unlimited's "No Limit" (where the guys is rapping). I then loop the 2 Unlimited bit again....when you hear the guy rapping for the second time round you will also hear it being mixed lived by me into my own stuff (my beat is different to the 2 Unlimited beat, it may sound out to you, but the PM's of both beats are the same). Before the rapping comes in, everything slows down, literally.

Those of you who remember the early nineties rave era will recognise some of the samples in Sin-R-G. I've also put in samples from Bloodhound Gang and Beverley Craven. You will also hear samples from some of my other tracks, like the main vocal hook from my track "(There Is) Life In Space" for example.

Excluding my electro breakbeat, there's like 3 different beats troughout the course of the track. The Bloodhound Gang sample at the begining sounds out of time, it's actually the same speed as my beat, jut the voice of the guys singing is slower than on the original Bloodhound Gang track. Upon closer inspection, I believe there may be a problem with speed of the bass on an occasion. I can't really tell though.

So I'm looking for feedback. BTW, the track s 4:15 long. Well here she is:

Enjoy!

I'll be posting up some of my other tracks shortly.
