SUBJ: UPDATE 04: Ghost Recon Future Soldier Teaser Trailer - official hints from Ubisoft

1. On March 15, 2010, Ubisoft representative code name Ubi Kimi released to the public three more hints regarding the Ghost Recon Future Soldier teaser trailer released back in February. This brings the total number of hints released to eleven.

Hint #9

Official transcripts from Ubi source codenamed Ubi Kimi: “Yes, the cross-com is returning.”

Included link points to the below screen shot:

Assessment:

The Cross-com system allows the player to issue commands to other friendly units (i.e. UAV drones or tanks), as well as to lay out attack routes and battle plans on a real-time tactical map. The cross-com system also highlights enemy soldiers spotted by friendly units.

HQ already reported this on the front page of www.ghostrecon.net. Summary provided below:

“When the cross-com appeared in GRAW2 it featured new advanced control options it'll be interesting to see how it will be implemented in Future Soldier considering it has already been revealed there are to be no squad commands in Future Soldier.”

Hint #10

Official transcripts from Ubi source codenamed Ubi Kimi: “The home of lutefisk.”

Included link points to the below map:

Assessment:

Lutefisk is a traditional dish of the Nordic countries and parts of the Midwest United States. It is made from stockfish (air-dried whitefish) or dried/salted whitefish and lye. Its name literally means "lye fish."

The key is not the item but the location it hails from - Norway. This is further corroborated by the link to Google Maps providing a view of Trondheim Norway.

Trondheim is a Norwegian center of education, technical and medical research. The Air Force Academy of the Royal Norwegian Air Force also resides in Trondheim. Otherwise, the area appears fairly peaceful or at the very least neutral.

Trondheim Norway is an interesting potential location for Future Soldier and will have to be pursued and investigated further to determine any known link.

Interesting. Very Interesting.

Hint #11

Official transcripts from Ubi source codenamed Ubi Kimi: “Buoy, this was fun sharing with you!”

Included link points to the below screen shot:

Assessment:

The initial assessment filed here commented on this unknown item and included a similar picture. Clearly the clue is buoy, but this item has no relation to buoys in the traditional sense. A buoy is defined as:

buoy

n.

1. A float moored in water to mark a location, warn of danger, or indicate a navigational channel.

The items (more than on visible) appear to be resting in sand based on the depth and amount of protrusion and also within the context of the rest of the trailer that appears to show a firefight and possibly oil rigs burning in the background.

The initial assessment is these items are some form of marker, possibly electronic in nature, and may be used in conjunction with the cross-com or other electronic gear.

Probability: Low.

Overall Assessment:

Nothing significant to report.
