SUBJ: UPDATE: Ghost Recon Future Soldier Teaser Trailer - official hints from Ubisoft
1. On March 10, 2010, Ubisoft representative code name Ubi Kimi released to the public two hints regarding the Ghost Recon Future Soldier teaser trailer released back in February. The hints raised more questions than it did answer them.
Hint #1
Russian Federation - Moscow, Russia.
The first hint released by Ubisoft provided a link that led to a Google Earth satellite view centered over the region titled Russian Federation. The Russian Federation is the official name of Russia and Moscow, Russia was already a presumed location based on intel gathered from the teaser trailer.
Hint #2
The second hint released by Ubisoft provided a screen capture of an unknown object, possibly a weapon system or other hardware device. This item was included in the initial analysis and assessment provide by this station (www.ghostrecon.net). The associated text released by Ubi Kimi listed the following components: Anti-Personnel Artillery; Satellite Uplink; Core Rotary. (Reviewing the HD version of the trailer also reveals an operational camera lens, thermal sensor and protective armor. There is a another component but only the first word is identifiable and appears to say extendable appxxxx).
The phrase core rotary was mistranslated on the original assessment as comms rotary. A search for the phrase "core rotary" initially produced sterile results, until the phrase was crossed checked with weapons systems and the following piece of information was discovered.
Patent application title: GRAVITATING CORE
IPC8 Class: AF42B1042FI
USPC Class: 102501
Inventors:
Andrey Albertovich Polovnev (MOSCOW, RUSSIA)
Vladimir Shaymukhametovich Khasiakhmetov (KHARKOV, UA)
Agents: NEXSEN PRUET, LLC
Summary:
This invention relates to ammunition for missile weapon and firearm and can be used in the design of harpoon arrows for arbalests and harpoon guns, as well as in the design of bullets for small arms, artillery and sporting-and-hunting guns used for firing under the water, from the air into the water, in the air and from the water into the air. Possibility of shooting in the water is defined for every weapon system individually.
NOTE: While the expression "core rotary" occurs numerous times throughout the description of the patent, based on the teaser trailer video, this patent technology is considered purely coincidental and of no relevance to Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
3. Due to the higher resolution, we are now able to correctly identify a few potential NPCs including Vladimir Smirnov, Abdul Malik Batool, Malik Junaid Ahmad, Labo Bhutta, CPT Alex Gomez, MAJ Derrick Louis and MAJ Wilson Klout.
4. Summary: No new intelligence was discovered although the HD video did corroborate a few of the assessments made in the initial report and will continue to be analyzed. Further cooperation and possibly interrogation of Ubisoft contact required and updates will be promulgated as data is made available.
The opinions and views expressed in this report are not necessarily the official views of Ubisoft or www.ghostrecon.com.
