Rahnman's Weapons Mod

Description: New version released 8 August 2011.

Rahnman has released v4.01 of his coop_kits.

This version includes minor updates and bug fixes, check the readme file for more information.

Delete any old versions and replace with v4.01.

Rahnman’s Weapons Mod v4

This version differs from the previous versions (v2 and v3) in that I have been able to incorporate Brettzie's L85A2 and Susat scope. I have also increased the number of kits, so there is a much greater variety of choices. Like v2 and v3, most of the primary weapons are available for use as secondary weapons. This means that if you want an M16 (with an ACOG, silencer, and GL) for a primary and an M99 for a secondary, you can have it. The possibilities are endless!

Here are the "NEW" weapon/ sight combinations (these are in addition to the regular weapons):

2) M416 ACOG, Reflex, Short Dot
3) SCAR's ACOG, Reflex, Short Dot, M96_Flashlight
4) G36 ACOG, Reflex
5) M1014 Shotgun Reflex, Aimpoint
6) MP5SD/A4 Reflex, M96_Flashlight
7) MRC ACOG
8) Mk18 Aimpoint, Eotech, ACOG, Silencer
9) Sig552 Aimpoint, Eotech, ACOG, Silencer, M96_Flashlight
10) Mk14 Aimpoint, Eotech, ACOG, Sniper Scope, Silencer
11) M16 Aimpoint, Eotech, ACOG, Silencer, GL
12) M4A1 Aimpoint, Eotech, ACOG, Silencer, GL
13) SAW Reflex, Aimpoint
14) M14 Aimpoint
15) L85A2 Susat, Silencer

Although this mod was primarily intended to be used for coop play it can also be used for Campaign and TvT play. A complete description and installation instructions are included in the "READ ME" file. Please do yourself a favor and read this file before installing the mod.

1. Make sure the "bundle" file goes in the "mods" foler

2. Drag "context" file to GRAW2 folder (delete the "standalone_context" file, its for server admins)

3. Drag the "batch" file to the GRAW2 folder (double click on it to start the game).

4. Rename your "English" folder (or whatever language you are using) to something else

5.  You could try renaming your "local" folder also.  Try "local 1". Sometimes, if you have override files in the local or English folders they will cause the game to crash.

The game should run if you do these things.  I don't know of anyone else who's had problems.

Hello again,

 I would get this type of error due to conflicts with my "English" folder inside my "local" folder.  Try renaming these folders and see if that fixes the problem.

Rico,

If you are still having problems after doing these things, it may be best to delete the mod files and download the mod again.  I have had difficulty with some missions I have downloaded. They would not load correctly.  I deleted them and did another download and it fixed the problem.

Hallo an alle,

kann das Spiel mit MOD starten, kann allerdings keine Waffen auswählen, ist nach wie vor Standard. Wenn ich Hoste mit Pack, können andere Spieler meinem Spiel beitreten, sobald jemand eine Waffe auswählt, stürzt das ganze Spiel ab.

If you have a problem with crashes, try downloading the "unbundled" version of the mod.  Find the link above entitled "Public Release Thread".  The link for the unbundled version will be in that forum.

I don't have a "mods" file .. should I just create one? it keeps showing an error screen ... is it about the version I'm using? How do I know which version I have? Does it work on a saved game or do I have to start fresh?

Luca,

The "Mods" folder (not file) should be inside your main GRAW2 folder.  Look for it there.  If it is not there then, yes, I would try creating one. If you are still getting crashes then you may need to use the "unbundled" version.  To find it look underneath the picture above for the link to "public release thread".  Inside that thread on post #9 you will find the link for the unbundled version.  Make sure to read the "read me" file that is included.  As far as saved games are concerned, you must start fresh.

Version 2.4 is a beta version that is currently under testing.  It is not available for release at this time.  When the beta testing is complete it will be released as version 3.0.

You shouldn't need a "Spanish" or an "English" folder to run this mod.  In fact, I recommend renaming the Spanish/English folder to something else so that it doesn't conflict with the mod (usually "English_REAL" or "Spanish_REAL").  Try that and see what happens.

btw, is there any mod which gives the realistic scope behaviour? i'm annoyed that scope always stands still even when you move...there's no sway effect.

Unfortunately, no.  There are 'sway' variables.  I don't know for certain but I think the creaters originally intended for there to be sway in the scopes but never wound up implementing it.

Just wanted to say: This is my all time favourite mod for Graw2.  Love the weapons choice/combo's in all coop maps.  Even in single player mode its grand.  Would be cool if you could incorporate even more weapons from Bretzies pack. Even though he has other weapons, I don't much like the load out limitations and/or the weapon combo's he's put together.  His weapons are great though...

 All in all - keep up the good work - it's people like you that ensure the longevity of a game like GRAW2 and make it more fun to play.

Hello Rahnman,I just installed your coop kit V3 and I like it. No probs with the PC or the gameor the weaps. There is an occasional crash during the Water Treatment missionif I throw 2 grenades to take out the VBL's before I fox the Havoc, however, I reckon this is because I also updated to the latest version with Ubi's 1.05 updater. Thanks much for a good choice of weapons! Maybe...just maybe...in V3.1 you could get Mitchell, Ramirez, Beasley, Brown et al...to say something like..."Hey Boss, I'm bustin for a shit." or "Hey Boss, who was that babe I saw you with in Galveston?" or some other humorous banter becauseout in the field it does happen between teammates.Perhaps there is a way to get to Ubi and tell em to change Mitchells voice froma near feminine one to a more masculine voice in the Welcome to Juarez andfinal mission; in Juarez, at the market, his voice cracks and the same thing happenswhen he gets to the missile in the silo and rambles on about the launch sequence.A great game would be much better if just those two voices were changed....Cheers from Thailand,JoeViet Vet...1971-75

Hey Cadex!

I would make sure that the context.xml for the mod has been placed in the GRAW2 folder (main directory) along with the batch file.  The FOLDER "rahnman's coop kits v3.0" should be located in "Local" folder.  I would rename or remove the "English" folder from within the local folder.  Once this is done, double click on the batch file and you shouldn't have any problems.

Refer to the "Read Me" file that was included in the download for detailed instructions.  Let me know if you have any further problems.

Nope!  LOL!  It looks like just one of the many different types of crashes you can get when you run the mod.  Is it something that is preventing you from using the mod or does it just happen occasionally?

Hi RAH....

your mod is more than excellent, especially the number of grenades, RX4HP or any other HP weapon, really excellent job. My only wish is if you would put and AK-47 or Zastava-M70AB2 (that is restyled AK 47, could be found on the Internet), since Us have quite a lot who would like to see something like that. For example in some of the following versions. I hope that this game will last for a long time and that you will have a still to deal with this MOD, so that you can surprise Us with something new and better.

We tried that in the beta testing period and it worked.  But testing was only cursary.  I will test it more thoroughly in the next version.

Hi Rahnman!  My buddies and I love your mod - I've got them all using it now. We play accross the Net using Hamachi twice a week until the wee hours.

I keep checking to see if you've made any more modifications to the weapons bundle...

 Just a thought:  Saw 'future weapons' on DMAX the other night and saw a few weapons that would certainly have a high 'fun' factor - the Dillion M134 Minigun in all it's variations is one.  I can just imagine the mayhem that would create... Made to be mounted on choppers/boats/vehicles etc -  but there's also a hand held version that would be devastating.

Another cool assault rifle I saw there was the Masada - an amazing weapon - you can mod it to fit any combat situation - long/short/medium barrel, AK47 mode etc. All done withing seconds as it is fully modular, and able to be done by 'exspurts' like us with minimal training.  It can use Nato as well as AK47 ammo - incredibly versatile - not exactly sure how that would translate into the game, or if it were even possible, but maybe food for thought?

Lol, my post must have not been ........ uh ....... posted.  If you like the masada weapons you might want to check out SnowFella's mod.  He did a whole set of those along with some new weaponsights.  I especially like his shortdot and reflex sights, which I have incorporated into this mod.  I didn't use the masada weapons thought since they were very similar to the SCAR in the way they looked.

As far as new weapons are concerned, I do not have the software to be able to create them so I use weapons that have been made by those who do.  3DSmax7 costs over $3500!! Don't have that kind of cash laying around, LOL.

I do have some 3d modelling software - what kind of files do you require - I could try to make you a chaingun..  I just need to know what format you need and then I'll know if I can make you some.

Good mod Rahnman!!! Worked perfectly in Harry Lee 2056 Enemies. The Avatars are funny.

You seem to be a gun enthousiast, would it be possible to bring in some new high tech weaponry in the mod? For example a Cheytac Intervention M200 Sniper Rifle instead of the old M99. I know it's alot work to change such a thing, but wouldn't it be a challenge to come up with a better and more up to date gun in GRAW2 before GRFS is released? Why stick to the old guns when you have the knowledge to bring in other and more up to date guns into the game. The MRC is in fact a non-existing weapon. Instead of the MRC you could switch it for the FN P90. I know, I know, alot of work but I'm sure everyone would like it.

Anyway, I like what you've done with the mod. Keep up the good work!

Great mod me and my friends use it all the time. Love the semi-auto M99 Wow. Have you done any maps or campains? if they are some would love to try them.

Hey Rico, I'm glad to see that you got it to work!! LOL!  I don't have the software that is required to make new weapons.  It is very expensive, so I can only use what has been made by others.  Sorry about that. Vtelmo, I'm glad you like the mod.  No, I don't do campaigns or missions.  I'm strictly a weaponhead, LOL!
