Ubisoft have responded to yesterdays authentication server downtime citing Denial of Services attacks. Assassins Creed 2 and Silent Hunter 5 servers were both affected, although Ubisoft are stating only 5% of the player base was affected. Unfortunately reports are coming in of further attacks today.
While some are questioning why Ubisoft seem to have been targeted while other publishers gaming servers remain unscathed, most in the gaming community have responded with derision focusing on Ubisoft’s much criticised new DRM system.
