GRAW PC Release date and Q/A

Ubisoft have confirmed a 5th of May 2006 release date for the PC version of GhostRecon Advanced Warfighter. The Playstation 2 version was released today.

Ubisoft have also published a new Question and Answer session that can be viewed on the Ubisoft forums, or in our own forums.

GR:AW PC First Trailer!

Today Ubisoft released the first trailer for GR:AW PC!.  The video features plenty of in game footage, including a realtime fast roping sequence!  Discussion of the trailer is already taking place in our forum.  After the years of waiting for GR to come back to the PC, today's media release is very exciting!

We had two GhostRecon.net staff members at the Ubisoft offices in the UK today - playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, on a PC!

Bo (Grin), Colin (GR.net), ZeroAlpha (GR.net), UbiRazz

Colin and ZeroAlpha spent a few hours in the company of Ubisoft and Bo from GRIN giving them the third degree about the PC version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, and also trying it out themselves. The full report is being worked on now, and we are sure it will make great reading as the guys had a fantastic day.

Ghost Recon designer Christian Allen gave a one hour lecture on Thursday at the Games Developer Conference in  San Jose, California. The talk was titled "Tomorrow’s Military Shooter: Challenges in Next-Gen Wargaming" and Gamespy have posted an interesting summary of the seminar here. Forum discussion here.

The English version of [GR]Dark's hands on with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is online now!

"It was such a big experience to play GRAW and there is no doubt in my mind that Ubisoft and GRIN have listened to the community about the spirit in the game and the gameplay from GR1 is kept intact."

AGEIA have two clips of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter PC running side by side. One clip is a regular graphics card, the other is full immersion physics using the AGEIA PhysX processor, check it out here and then post your comments in our forums here. Danish Ghost Recon fan [GR] Dark was lucky enough to get the first fan "hands on" for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter PC today. He is in the process of writing up the report and has promised an English version will be published on his website soon! Until then check out the danish version and talk it up here.

What Song Are You Listening To?

One of the longest running threads in our forums is What Song Are You Listening To? With over 100 pages of songs and over 12,000 views it's safe to say Ghost Recon fans like their music!

Now Ubisoft want to know which genre of music Ghost Recon (and Rainbow Six) fans like best, and they are running a poll to find out. Visit Ubisoft and let them know what sort of music you like by voting in the poll down on the right of the main page! Who knows, it could lead to one of your favourite tracks appearing in an upcoming title.

Ghost Recon fans in the UK can now use their mobile phones to Text GHOST to 83040 and gain access to free wallpapers, ringtones and trailers.

I'm not sure if this works outside of the UK or not, post in our forums if you figure it out!

Ghost Gallery

We've added a new feature today, the Ghost Gallery. Colin has been collecting what must be the largest collection of Ghost Recon screenshots anywhere, and has collated them all into one huge collection. The gallery is currently split into 4 sections, one for each version of Ghost Recon. GR4, GRAW Mission pack and Firehawk

A mission pack for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has appeared in an unconfirmed leaked lineup for Ubisoft 2006/7 titles. Ghost Recon 4 is also mentioned, with a March 2007 release.

Also listed is a new Tom Clancy title called "Firehawk", and Rainbow Six 5 for November this year. Firehawk discussion can be found here.

It's worth repeating, this is UNCONFIRMED information that while sounding a little dubious, is worth mentioning! Speculate away over here.

Jeff Wesevich, Audio Lead at Red Storm, has been interviewed by Gamespot this week. It's a two page article that shows the amount of work that has gone into making Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter sounds. The piece also includes a 90 second movie. Check it out at Gamespot.

Ubisoft have confirmed that Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter will appear on the PC in May 2006. They have also issued a short Q/A statement about the delay. You can read this information in our forums here.
