GR on N-Gage *updated* Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, April 14 2004
Make sure you check this out - Ghost Recon on N-Gage. Unlike many other games that appear on handhelds and the only similarity is the name of the game, Ghost Recon actually looks like Ghost Recon on the N-Gage. The development team have been keeping us up to date with progress and it is sounding like quite an impressive project. Check out some of the features...- fog, rain, and night vision
- 4 difficulty levels and varied mission objectives such as: place demolition charges, neutralize hostile presence, attack convoys, and rescue hostages
- the first full-fledged tactical action FPS on a portable console
- Local multiplayer over a Bluetooth connection with up to 8 players, featuring several adversarial and cooperative modes
- Built from scratch for the N-Gage platform - from redesigning the controls to mapping textures - for a smooth gaming experience
- All maps, missions, and modes original for N-Gage
There are also details of the new model - the N-Gage QD that's worth a look. If you click on the 4th image shown under the picture of the N-Gage QD you'll be treated to a movie of a multiplayer session of GR! We should have a review of this title over the coming weeks.

Jack57 Interview Posted by Rocky on Tuesday, April 13 2004
Chems has interviewed Jack57 and the focus is of course on his amazing Ghost Recon custom made Campiagns. "I try for realism in the sense that I want the player to think what he would do in this situation in real life and react accordingly."
Read the full interview here where you'll also find links to each of Jack57's superb mods. I'm glad to say Jack57 recently joined us on Staff here at GhostRecon.net, and as always you'll find him in our Modding forums lending a helping hand where needed.

Ubi do WWII Posted by Rocky on Monday, April 12 2004
Thanks to Snowman for alerting us to what could be one of the two remaining announcements expected from Ubi Soft over the coming days. It appears they may be publishing a WWII game from developers Gearbox Software.
According to IGN the title is not fixed yet, but is currently referred to as Bakers Dozen. Visit the game site here. Fans of Band of Brothers will really want to check this out. What's intruiging is the thought that has gone into this, check out this quote and think about what it could be a promise of... "The problem with these games is that they promise to let us live the life of a soldier in combat, but they're not really putting us there. Real soldiers know that in combat, you live and fight as a team. Leadership counts. Good tactics win. Poor leadership and bad tactics get you slaughtered."

GR.net and GR2 Posted by Rocky on Friday, April 9 2004
People have been asking me what the future is for GhostRecon.net now that Ghost Recon 2 is on the horizon. The answer is quite simple, we will expand to include everything about Red Storm's Ghost Recon 2. There will be a new expanded Recon section, updated Arms and FAQs sections and of course we've had a Ghost Recon 2 forum on the go since the start of the year. So whether it is Ghost Recon, or Ghost Recon 2 - we'll be pumping out the news and exclusive content as always. We might even start to reminisce a little now that we are about to enter a new generation of Tactical Shooter. If my maths is correct, this is the 1303rd news post made here, that's an average of 37 Ghost Recon news posts a month! Our Recon section has grown quite remarkably with exclusive content penned by GhostRecon.net staff members and fans alike - it now contains around 115 reports! I wonder how long it will take us to reach that number of Ghost Recon 2 reports...
