Ghost Recon 2 Hands-On
Posted by Rocky on Sunday, August 29 2004

As promised here is Zero Alpha's Ghost Recon 2 report. During his visit to this special Ghost Recon 2 preview in London, Zero Alpha spent some time in one on one conversations with members of the Dev team, including Robbie Edwards. Together with some hands on time with Ghost Recon 2 this allowed Zero to gain an excellent insight into what Ghost Recon 2 has in store for us - and what a delight it is shaping up to be!

There will be an update to this report on the 16th of next month when some more news and specific game details will be released. We also have an exclusive developer interview in the works. In the meantime, enjoy Zero Alpha's report, and leave feedback in our Ghost Recon 2 forums

XBox v PS2
Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, August 25 2004

One interesting point arising from our hands on with Ghost Recon 2 yesterday was the difference between the Playstation 2 and XBox versions. They were quite different, and the dev team confirmed that the versions were being developed independently to concentrate on the strengths of each console.

You can read more on this at Eurogamer and catch up on the chat regarding this unique decision in our forums here.

GR2 Hands On
Posted by Rocky on Tuesday, August 24 2004

Today we were invited along to an exclusive Ubi Soft Ghost Recon 2 event in London, where we met with the developers, and played some Ghost Recon 2 on both the X-Box and the Playstation2.

Our representative, Zero Alpha, managed to get some quality time in with the developers and came away impressed, relieved and looking forward to the release of Ghost Recon 2 on the PC early next year. We'll have a full report published before the weekend that will cover many details of the upcoming X-Box version, and also a question and answer session with Robbie Edwards from Red Storm.

It's also clear there is alot of new information and media due to be released around the middle of next month, so keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the build up!

Finally, thanks to Ubi Soft and Red Storm for inviting us along and being so accommodating!

Big news - at a recent Ghost Recon 2 Press event in Germany it was revealed that the PC version of Ghost Recon 2 is due early in 2005. Not only that, it's coming with extra features and improved graphics over the console version.

The Ghost Recon 2 press road show moves to London tomorrow, and we hope to have the very latest word from the Dev team from that event, on site here at GhostRecon.net the day after.

IGN Shooters
Posted by Rocky on Friday, August 13 2004

IGN have just published a "Shooter Roundup" that features many upcoming shooters, including Ghost Recon 2. Unfortunately what little they say about Ghost Recon 2 seems a little wide of the mark...

"The fifteen missions in GR2 are looking to be much less linear and scripted"

I'm not quite sure why IGN are saying that Ghost Recon missions are linear when they are far from it, so we'll side step that comment. But the comment about GR2 missions being less scripted, well, has me almost at a loss for words, so I'll let you folks debate that one!
