GR in 3D Posted by Rocky on Friday, August 29 2003
For the past few weeks I have been preparing a new report, and I have to admit - I never had so much fun researching a report before. Here's why - I've been playing Ghost Recon in 3D using 3D glasses from eDimensional, and it is amazing!
Here's a clip from my review of this remarkable product. "When you think about it, Ghost Recon was developed in three dimensions. The maps, the vehicles, the weapons, the characters, they were all modelled using 3D software - and yet that's not how we see it. Until you put on a pair of 3D glasses, you are not seeing the game in the manner it was developed - and once you have seen Ghost Recon in 3D, you'll realise what you have been missing out on."

Tenebrous Storm Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, August 13 2003
Tenebrous Storm ("Dark" Storm) is a mission from a new modder - Mot73 from Tactical Gamer. Although it is his first mission mod, he had some help from Jack57, and by all accounts so far - this is a great 17Kb to download. While the offline solo mission contains some great cinemtics, both coop and solo benefit from a neat new feature that means a living ghost in the field can obtain the demo kit from a fallen demo man, if you find your squad without the needed charges to complete your mission. This is a great feature and resolves the rather silly situation where demo missions usually end just because the demo guy couldn't keep his head down. Download (new v1.1) at Fileplanet or, and leave Mot73 some feedback here.

We reviewed PFP back in January and awarded it 9/10, you can read that here, and check out Jack57's other campaigns on this page. This new version is optimsed for co-op play, has batch files that will remove music and substitute voice files for realism (if required) - and does not overwrite any files. Ghost Recon.com Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, August 6 2003
Ubi Soft have relaunched Ghost Recon.com with a far more visually impressive site than before. I know they are working on changing a couple of minor things to improve it further. All in all, a nice move by Ubi Soft to show that they are still supporting Ghost Recon! Also remember that Ubi Soft have donated prizes to the current Alpha Squad Ghost Recon Stealth Tournament, so kudos to Ubi this week for their community spirit, and congrats on a spiffy new site design. Let's hope it is a signal for an increase in activity over there, who knows what news they have brewing....
