Merry Christmas! Posted by Rocky on Sunday, December 24 2006
Merry Christmas to all the fans, forum members and GR.net Supporters who have supported GhostRecon.net during the past twelve months. After many years of waiting 2006 finally saw a new Ghost Recon title released on the PC, with a sequel promised for early next year. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter may have divided opinion within the community, but a community it remained, whether faithful to the new or the old, Ghost Recon fans are indeed a remarkable bunch! As usual I'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks to the sixteen Admin, Staff and Consultants at GhostRecon.net for the countless hours they put into keeping this site a useful resource and for helping to provide a pleasant forum to use. Thanks also to our ever growing band of Supporters who's support throughout the year(s) has been invaluable. And finally Merry Christmas to Ubisoft, GRIN and Red Storm Entertainment!

RSE 10th Birthday Posted by Rocky on Saturday, December 23 2006
Ubisoft has been heralding their 20th anniversary this year, but not much noise has been made about the fact that Red Storm turned 10 years-old last month. Yes, RSE has come a long way since Tom Clancy, Doug Littlejohns, and a core group of developers committed to making great games back in November 1996.Since RSE's heyday of Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear, and the original Ghost Recon, things have changed with RSE's acquisition by Ubisoft and its focus now on developing for consoles, but RSE's quality and execution are still outstanding, and this has been recognized by the recent Game of the Year awards for GRAW. The studio has now grown to over 130+ employees and celebrated their 10 year milestone on Nov 17th with cake, pizza and ice cream! In collaboration with our friends at 3d Retreat, we here at GhostRecon.net want to wish Red Storm a belated Happy 10th Birthday. Join us in GR.net's forums here to leave your birthday wishes, wax nostalgic etc.In the meantime, you can read more about RSE's history here.
