Vertigo
Posted by Rocky on Thursday, January 31 2002

If you have played any of the big online games you have probably heard of Vertigo; if you played Rogue Spear online chances are you have certainly heard of him. His cheat patches have ruined many gaming leagues and been the cause of countless community flame wars.

He has recently announced a series of cheats for Ghost Recon. When Freshmint contacted me about this a couple of days ago I had no reason to doubt that Vertigo had indeed expanded his cheat empire. Having examined his screenshot "evidence" however, there is nothing to substantiate his claims at all.

Unfortunately where Vertigo is concerned there is never any smoke without a fire, so it would not surprise me if ladder sites started reporting Ghost Recon cheaters over the coming months. Let's hope that any gamers who stoop so low as to use cheats online, will face a united action from all the major ladders that will help prevent the spread of this regretable but inevitable epidemic.

Skinning Tool
Posted by Rocky on Wednesday, January 30 2002

Mike Schell has released a new skinning tool that makes the whole process easier.

"This utility will streamline your character skinning process. It eliminates the need for a HEX editor, allows you to change multiple textures with one operation, and does not place any restrictions on file name lengths (whereas HEX editing does)."

Check out the details.

Project Delta

I know many Ghost Recon fans are also Delta Force fans, so just for you guys, here is an interesting piece of information unearthed by Six. It seems that original Delta Force members are launching a website intent on telling the real story behind their Special Operations, in their own words. Read their motives at Ghostrecon.org.

With the Mission Pack only about 8 weeks away some gamers are already wondering how the Ghost Recon series will evolve. With that in mind I found a news report by CR6 at RS-R very interesting. The release schedule for the Rainbow Six series is detailed and used to speculate possible Ghost Recon expansion.
