Embassy
Posted by Rocky on Thursday, May 22 2003

Embassy Revisited is a new mod released today by Chems and McNamee. As the title suggests it is the Embassy map redone, including new skins, reworked Embassy mission and a new feature that'll have you running around tanks for most of the mission. What Chems has managed to do is put a hatch in the tanks so you can throw a grenade it and cause severe damage without the need for an Anti-Tank weapon!

For a screenshot and more information check this forum thread.

Posted by Rocky on Thursday, May 22 2003

ITF clan have come up with a download to prevent that annoying situation that can occur with spawn campers. Here's the big sell from {ITF}Feltzer...

"TRR Maps make the spawn points different everytime you die so it makes your gaming experience just that much better. So stop the Spawn Campers now by downloading the IGS-TRR Maps from International Task Force Online Gaming Communitys website"

Download the TRR maps at the ITF Download page right here.

Wesevich Interview
Posted by Rocky on Thursday, May 22 2003

Chicago X-Box have interviewed Jeff Wesevich, the talented guy responsible for the top notch sound in Ghost Recon. It's been a while since we heard from Jeff, so it's good to see he is still doing the rounds. Read the interview here if you want to know what Jeff thinks "hitting (a) 150-year-old recently-revived rotting flesh with a baseball bat" would sound like.

4000+
Posted by Rocky on Thursday, May 22 2003

Neutron's amazing Frostbite mod has already banked over 4000 downloads, in only 2 days! Remarkably, this mod has out "sold" top new demo downloads like the brand new Ubi Soft  Will Rock demo, and the Fair Strike demo from E3!

It has also been converted for Mac users - who are always hungry for good Ghost Recon mods. Grab the Mac version here, while there are PC mirrors up now at modheads (reg required), and Fileshack.

If you have already enjoyed Frostbite - why not mail Neutron and thank him, a full expansion pack for the price of an e-mail - can't be bad!

Posted by Rocky on Thursday, May 22 2003

The latest M.O.R.P.H. Anti-Hack has been released by SOTO Mac and Biffa [SAF].  All M.O.R.P.H.members will need to install this new file to play on their cheat free servers. If this is new to you, check the readme for details - here's a clip...

Frostbite Review
Posted by Rocky on Monday, May 19 2003

My Frostbite review is a little longer than a typical mod review - but Frostbite is not a typical mod...

"... what really impressed me was the majesty of some of the maps, they were like a scene out of an old war movie, like Where Eagles Dare, and when that atmospheric music starts the nerves really will kick in."

Read my full review for Frostbite here.

Frostbite - So Close
Posted by Rocky on Tuesday, May 13 2003

Without doubt one of the questions on everybodys lips these days is "when is Frostbite coming out". While I don't have a date, I can tell you it is very close. El Oso has published a summary of the mods contents, which reveals new information, requirements, screenshots and credits.

The first thing you'll notice is that the mod currently weighs in at a massive 500Mb, the largest ever Ghost Recon mod, by some distance. Thanks to some clever compression Neutron has managed to reduced the download to around the 200Mb mark. Clear some hardrive space, and complete a defrag now - you are not going to want to miss out on this remarkable mod!
