The Challenge has been accepted!
Posted by zjj on Thursday, October 27 2005

GR.net fans have challenged Ghost Recon 3 developers GRIN to a duel after the release of GR:AW, PC version, and they have accepted! If you are interested in a chance at being on the team that competes against GRIN, post in the sign up thread.

Watch the forums for further details as they unfold.

Hmmm, I wonder if RSE will step up and accept the challenge, too.

Delta Force 1990
Posted by Rocky on Tuesday, October 25 2005

Since February this year one mod in particular has been attracting a remarkable amount of praise, and not without good reason.

"...this is the next level of skinning. The textures are awesome and the detail level is fantastic..."

That quote from ceptico in the forums is typical of a whole stream of similar posts from Ghost Recon fans excited about the release of a massive character mod from modder eSkwaad. Today he is releasing a mini mod in advance of the full mod.

Delta Force 1990 contains superbly created Delta Forces characters with 100% new models and textures. There are four Delta Force characters (BHD style) with woodland and jungle variations. Download Delta Force 1990 here.

For more details on the full mod that eSkwaad has been working on for over 8 months, start browsing here to find screenshots of the remarkable characters he has been producing.

GDC II Underway!
Posted by zjj on Tuesday, October 25 2005

The second GDC (that's the Ghost Recon.net Design Contest, in case you haven't been visiting the dedicated forum) has already been well under way. With this contest's topic being Ghost Recon - Movie Poster, the talent has been popping out of the woodwork. You may be humbled out of competing in this round, but it'll be worth your while to check out the entries, I know RSE has been keeping an eye on it!

Congratulations to mordred for his win in the first GDC competition.  Check out his winning entry, as well as all the other masterpieces!

Swedish Forces
Posted by Rocky on Sunday, October 23 2005

We added a brand new version of one of Ghost Recon's most accomplished mods today - Swedish Forces For King and Country v1.4.5 by Wolfsong. This massive conversion has a contents list as long as your arm, but to summerise the highlights here's what you get for your 105Mb: totally new interface and intro movie, 35 new weapons models, 9 retextured snow maps, and a mixture of totally new and rescripted missions that add up to a 40 mission campaign. Additionally Wolfsong has also included a data excel spreadsheet and the Frostbite compatibility mod, and also some scripting tutorials!

Visit the Swedish Forces download entry for more details, two download locations, and a link to the full mod review by Giwex.

SADF
Posted by Rocky on Saturday, October 22 2005

South African Defence Force (SADF) is a new 13 mission campaign released by Ingeloop and Richmondskin. One really cool aspect to this mod though is the amount of community input and assistance over the past 8 months of development, you can see that in our forums here. The result is a comprehensive 13 mission campaign including new SADF camo, weapons and vehicles. I've played through the first two missions already, and enjoyed them alot. Download here.

GR:AW PC Demo in 7 days?! NOT!
Posted by Rocky on Thursday, October 20 2005

PC Gamer (UK) have stated they will have a demo of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter on their cover disk in the November issue, which is due out in 7 days. This announcement was made in the October magazine which went to print before Ubisoft's announcement that GR:AW was delayed until next year, so whether the demo will still appear in PC Gamer next week is open to debate.

Update > PC Gamer have confirmed the demo will not now appear due to the games slippage.
