Stealthflage Sunday December 29 | Rocky
There has been a fair bit of interest in the modding community about making the ultimate camo, so effective as to make the wearer near invisible. Ruin's tutorial brought the know-how to the average Ghost Recon fan, and now, we are seeing some real results.

Check out these awesome images from Nightmare in our forums, including a neat "walking bush" design!

Royal Marines *UPDATED* Saturday December 28 | Rocky
One of the largest Desert Siege mods I can recall has been released by Sixpence - The Royal British Marines 2. This is definately a broadband mod, as it weighs in at over 100Mb!

Every character has been reskinned with Royal Marines camo, there are new specialists, retextured maps and a cracking 16 mission campaign. It also includes the fantastic Trance weapons by our own Yodasplat, and the cool Utah Beach Map by Akira from @war. Download from GhostRecon-de. Also be sure to download this small patch.

Iwo Jima Thursday December 26 | Rocky

There is word of a new mission modification for this map, and we'll be posting news about that shortly - until then check our review for the relevant details and links.

Weapon View Thursday December 26 | Rocky
"Why can't I see my weapon?", one of the most controversial and heated debates ever to plague a Ghost Recon forum. As of today though, fans can check exactly what Ghost Recon looks like with a first person weapon view - as Staff member Parabellum has succesfully modded such a view!

Check out Para's screenshot in our forums here, and expect a full blown First Person Weapon View modification for download early next year!

IGS Interview Sunday December 22 | Rocky
A new dawn is approaching Ghost Recon online gaming as a determined new Anti-Cheat system is launched in Beta fomat this month. The IGS has been testing their new anti-cheat system for 8 months, and has gone public this month.

Our in-house anti-cheat expert SOTO Mac interviewed Mr Smith, head of the IGS, this week - here's a clip...

"It needs a new approach, as the former business development manager for the World Trade Center, I understand what the leagues/ ladders have been missing to evolve into something larger and more legitimate - it does take time, but we are building a team and staff that is very committed to doing what it takes to get the job done right."

Read the full interview here.

New Reticules Posted by Rocky on Saturday, December 14 2002
DVS1 has released a new set of reticules for Ghost Recon, that are a little bit different to say the least! One of the rets is shown in these two images..

There is no installer for these however, so be prepared to delve into the mysteries of the Ghost Recon folders if you see a reticule you want to install. See the full selection here.

Ghost MP3's Posted by Rocky on Friday, December 13 2002
Scott sent in two new Ghost Recon MP3's that are quite neat. The first one is a sort of "story by mp3" where you can hear the fate of a singing russian, the second one is more musical, both are well done! You'll find these along with some other MP3 tracks on our Media Downloads section.

Mod Installers Posted by Rocky on Thursday, December 12 2002
Of all the mods we get submitted here at GhostRecon.net, the most common problem we come across is faulty installers. Left uncorrected, this could at best be an inconvienience for the end-user, at worst it could mean the mod gets trashed before it even gets played!

To help modders through the process of making an installer for their mod we have added a Tutorial to our Recon section, thanks to Earl. Earl runs through each step of the process, from the folder structure to the Registry, check it out here.

GR Console Posted by Rocky on Thursday, December 12 2002
While the X-Box Version of Ghost Recon has been met with much praise, the same cannot be said about the Playstation2 version. The bundled Desert Siege missions don't seem to be enough compensation for the lack of multiplayer for some gamers - infact, a petition has already started to try and convince Ubi Soft to turn that decision around.

Feel free to discuss console versions of Ghost Recon in our new Console Forum.

Making a Ghillie Friday December 06 | Rocky
If there is one thing that makes for a tense game of Ghost Recon, it's trying to spot a heavily camouflaged sniper deep in the Ghost Recon scenery. If you'd like to design your own ghillie suit and see if you could merge your sniper into the undergrowth, check out this excellent new tutorial from our Skinning expert, Ruin.

By following this tutorial you should be producing near invisible camo for your sniper in no time at all. Ruin even details how to disguise the rifle for the full effect. If you need further help, or have feedback for Ruin, join the Ghillie discussion here.
