having trouble with Boot texturing

i'm trying to texture in some Magnum boots onto the ghosts, but when i come to test them, they are all weird, they all have different tones, you can see the seams and it just looks awful, a little help or advice from a good texturer would be nice, thanks. :thumbsup:

Had a quick look, and i notice there is a slight light halo around the boot parts, try painting some grey/black over that and hide the bottom edge with some dust/dirt/mud which ever suets the maps best :thumbsup:

Had a look and only the toes stick out like a sore thumb.
Otherwise pretty nice.
Even the RSE textures were off some on the toe.
The sheen of the leather is what is hard to deal with their.
Basically gray/black but so many shades. Might have to go with a uniform color
on the toe and blend it in with the rest of the boot. That and what Hammer says.
I hadn't thought of adding some grungy dirt.

thanks to you both, the boot texture is looking much better now.

now sorry to ask, would anyone be able to add Oakley Assault gloves to the .psd, or advise on how to stop them distorting like this:
