RileyFletcher_01
Hey, I was using Natsanwa's model pack to make some new weapons for my new mod, and I wanted to use the Benelli model. I don't know how to make shotguns, though. There is no shotgun WeaponMotionType, so I tried setting it to fire 3 rounds per shot, but that made it burst and used 3 rounds. Can I make it fire three projectiles but count as one bullet?
Tinker
No not really. Pretty much just for the fact you are carrying a shotgun. Feels cool, sounds cool, but does not work right. Try increasing the rate of fire maybe on 3 burst?
RileyFletcher_01
Okay, I'll try that. Thanks.
wombat50
There is no shotgun WeaponMotionType In the Igor Gun Editor it is possible to tick shotgun in the type box. In notepad shotgun is designated as 6 for WeaponMotionType.
Operative
I never modded one, but I saw a lot of working shotguns (with spread and everything). Take CENTCOM as an example. There's the M1014, and it's working perfectly.
RileyFletcher_01
Hmm, thanks for the info. Interestingly, the Origmiss sound folder has a shotgun reload and firing sound, and it supports shotgun types, but it came with no shotguns...another of RSE's weird and unexplained dropped features such as the climbing ability. vandyman84
And when in doubt, shotguns also fire slugs.
RileyFletcher_01
Yes, I set up the Benelli Super 90 (Benelli M1) to fire slugs (as a rifle) and the M1014 and Supernova are buckshot. They're working awesome.

RileyFletcher_01
Heh. The Benelli M1 is scoped and fires slugs, the Benelli Supernova is scoped (which I don't like, because it makes a shotgun kind of pointless with a scope) but it fires buckshot. Since the Supernova is pump action, it has a low ROF of 60, with a pumping sound in between rounds so it simulates a pump shotgun. The M1014 has a high ROF and fires buckshot. WytchDokta
(which I don't like, because it makes a shotgun kind of pointless with a scope) Dude, more and more games these days are allowing players to put rifle scopes/sniper scopes on their shotguns. Take Crysis, RS:V2 and BF3 for example. Get with the times, man. I even tried telling games developers about it being improper practice, but would they listen? Now look what they've done, the trend is catching on.
RileyFletcher_01
The only purpose I would see for a scope would be if you're shooting slugs, but it's still idiotic.
WytchDokta
Exactly, it defeats the object of a short range weapon - aka 'improper practice.' And having laser sights increase accuracy of weapons is also improper practice. Accuracy is controlled by the shooters' handling of the weapon, is it not? But what I do I know, I ain't no game dev. RileyFletcher_01
If you've ever shot a real weapon, you know a bunch of fancy attachments isn't going to help you that much. A laser sight is helpful, yes, because you just point and shoot, but increasing accuarcy is baloney. I can't think of any attachment that will make your gun more accurate. All attachments allow the shooter to become more accurate, but do not affect the firearm.
