I think I was one of the tens of people who really liked Shenmue, despite it's obvious flaws.

Actually, a "movie" version of Shenmue 1 came out with Shenmue II (which I got bundled with my Xbox 1).

Yep, Shenmue II came with an extra DVD where the whole of the first game was played through filmed as a movie.

I knew about the ET game and of course Daikatana. Who knows what other games will make this list in the future?!

Shenmue has a very strong following and is legendary for doing a lot of things, i'm a bit puzzled that it's on this list. Yu Suzuki, also, is incredibly proud of it, and still talks about making a third. I mean, how about a game of lucky hit definitely deserves to get made fun of sometimes, but that doesn't make the entie game garbage. It's one of the rare examples of unique gameplay and storytelling working.

Maybe I'm being a fanboy, but this brings to mind the IGN god hand review, and the backlash that followed -

The Getaway is considered a pretty good game too, and also classic for some of its' innovations, even if it didn't age perfectly --
