I recently rented the PS2 version of GR2 and despite being immensely disappointed with the game in general, I was wondering if the campaign is different in the Xbox version...

Completely different, though they are tied, plot wise. The PS2 (and I believe the GC) versions were set a few years before the Xbox title, and have a separate story/campaign.
Basically, PS2 is the prequel, while the Xbox game was the main story.

Okay thanks. I've played the Xbox version once for a mission and it seemed different than the PS2 versions. Unfortunately, the PS2 version is extremely linear. Thanks anyway...

Also does anyone know which game PS2 vs. Xbox is more tactical?

i read that the ps2 and gamcube version dont use the developers original gaming engine. so which means that the xbox version is vastly superior to the ps2 and gamcube versions
