I'm a newbie to modding and I've been to the Recon Section and I've been reading (nearly) every single thread about weapons modding and unfortunately I am no nearer to a solution to my problem... :wall:

The Problem : I do not have either Photoshop, Paintshop or 3dMax so all this talk about plug-ins etc does not help me much.

I honestly wish the solution was to "get either Photoshop, Paintshop or 3dMax" but I simply can not afford it.

So I'd really appreciate it if someone could please shed some light on the the following questions :

1. Is there any other way of creating/editing .rsb files for custom kit icons.

2. What are the steps for creating your own custom .rsb files without photoshop/paintshop pro/3dmax

3. where does all the RSB Editors and RSB Converters fit into the picture.

Thanks

You could also look out for trial versions of older PSP or PS versions...
If you have any old CDs from PC magazines gathering dust somewhere go and take a look that's how I got into skinning

Or: go to the public libraries and look for books about Photoshop or 3DSM, they often have trial versions included.

;)
