A vid showing the skins off would certainly be sweet.

Screenies and a vid will more than likely be ready tomorrow, the first weapon is almost ready, in 8 configurations:

C7 LSW - c-mag, Elcan, bipod down
C7 LSW - c-mag, Elcan, bipod up
C7 LSW - c-mag, carry handle, bipod down
C7 LSW - c-mag, carry handle, bipod down
C7 LSW - 30rnd mag, Elcan, bipod down
C7 LSW - 30rnd mag, Elcan, bipod up
C7 LSW - 30rnd mag, carry handle, bipod down
C7 LSW - 30rnd mag, carry handle, bipod down

Incidently, there are more versions of this weapon to come, kinda. The C7 SFSW will be one of the available weapons for Jaegerkorpset gunners.

I have nearly finished a specialist gunner skin (based off the original Scott Ibrahim skin). I may put him with the C7 LSW tomorrow for the screenies, but as it is right now, he has a bullet belt thingy going across his chest and over his shoulders (which I don't think anyone would use for the C7 LSW. For that reason, when the other gunner weapons are ready, I'll probably put him with HK21E.

I forgot to say, we are adjusting the hue/saturation of some of the skins. This is to make the skins look either new, or used. This not only applies to the desert skins.

Oh and when I say screenies, they won't be ordinary screenies, I have thought up a brand new concept on the screenies front.... Which we might also do for the vids.

Infact I could put some screenies of the splash screens....

We have now almost completed three specialist skins (got Jack Stone in Danish camo now too aswell as Scott Ibrahim). When I say almost completed, I mean like we still need to adjust their webbing slightly and add mud etc. I've also done some NPC skins (based off the default GR POW skins) where they are wearing just their standard uniform, without their webbing, helmets etc. There's now more reg skins too. More NPC skins to come yet. I will definitely be posting some pics later on, (I'm hoping I can figure out how to get this C7 LSW into the game, then I can get some screenshots of the gunner specialist firing it down the range).

We have currently done 8 reg rifleman skins (all based of Dieter Munz' character model), and with each of them we have changed their gloves and on some of them, we have slightly changed their boots. But that's just the reg rifleman skins, we are currently working on the same skins as above but lightening them up a bit (to give them that used look). So that will make 16 reg rifleman skins. Plus, there's then gonna be the same for the riflemen wearing boonies of which we have both long sleeved and rolled up sleeved variants, so, 8 variants with boonies/long sleeves, eight variants with long sleeves/lighter uniform, eight variants with boonies/rolled up sleeves, eight variants rolled up sleeves/lighter uniform - that's thiry six more rifleman skins.... But wait, there's more! We then are gonna make the same styyle variants but with berets.... So that's another 16 skins.... So lemme do a quick calculation here.... 16+36+16= 68 reg rifleman skins!! And there's a total of seventy six reg riflemen in GR.

So yeah, that's just the riflemen.... Trouble is, I've gotta give them all Danish names yet....

As promised, here's a few (early development) screenies. The skins still need work.... My Danish flags are aligned perfectly straight on the .rsb file, but on the skin in GR, they come up at an angle, hmmm.... Something else to fix now. Click images for larger pic.

I don't like the way that GR stretches the camo pattern on the shoulders of the reg soldiers' body armour.

Kudos to nat for the C7 LSW.

That looks very very good, I really like those skins & the C7 , but the first two screenshots are too dark, it's hard to see the details. Maybe you should take a brighter map for taking screenies ;)

Might be a little dark, but here's the latest one (the guy in the foreground actually has darker (well, it's a deeper green rather than a darker green) camo than the rest of the guys):

Posted Image

I' still trying to fix Jack Stones' hood with this Danish camo! As I had it before, part of his webbing that was meant to gover his shoulder actually went over his hood! LOL, I'm still fixing this as you read this. I would love to post a screenie of the skin based of the Jack Stone character model, but skin is a specialist sniper, so you guys will have to wait til the MSG90 is done.... I'm expecting the arrival of the rest of the C7's and C8's within a few days. After that, I'll see if the MSG 90 is ready to be started on.

We still need to fix all those pouches etc yet. :wall:

Thanx for feedback so far.

I'm taking a break from modding for a few days until I can get some more RL stuff sorted out.... I'm currently in the process of applying to a few places for a new job. On top of that, I have recently take on a maths equivalent GCSE course (I'm kinda re-taking GCSE, but this is equivalent GCSE (colleges and evening claases in this area don't take on students until september and I ain't waiting that long 'til i start doing it. You have to pay to re-take a GCSE too, but this is equivalent GCSE, therefore the entire course is free!)). So I have all the coursework etc from the maths course to try and finish too. I'm doing the maths course so I can get into the RAF once I've passed the maths exam (and the RAF tests).

It doesn't help that it's a 32 mile round trip to and from work everyday (I'm on the road for nearly an hour everyday), and that somedays I don't finish work 'til 8pm. That's just a few reasons why I'm doing something about trying to get a new job closer to home.

But have no fear, 'cause WytchDokta is still here and will resume work on the mod within the next few days!

OK guys, I've been doing some tidying-up recently and in the process came across my old 3DSM 5 CD....

I'm certainly no pro, and can't mod weapons to save my life, so what I figured I'd do is make some new character models, well kinda new. The Danes use the German style body armour that covers the shoulders, so I'll replace some torsos with Dieter Munz' torso. Finding the CD is very advantageous:- it opens up a whole new world of possibilities for this mod now.

It means I can do things like:

- Take the German helmet from Dieter Munz and put goggles on it, and make three versions (no goggles (normal), goggles up and goggles down) for the soldiers.

- Swap out Scott Ibrahim's torso for that of Dieter Munz (new specialist gunner)

- Swap out Jack Stone's torso, I'm not sure what with yet, I need some suggestions for this (new specialist sniper, possibly with ghillie). I was thinking of swapping it with Munz's torso, but that means he'll have the big bulky body armour. Snipers don't really wear body armour right? I could swap his torso with the US POW torso maybe? What are you thoughts on this?

- Make a new style desert character model.... Alot of Danish troops out in Iraq and Afghanistan actually wear their body armour of the top of just plain tan coloured t-shirts. I want to try and recreate this for the mod.

- Make a new female Royal engineer character model, based off the Susan Grey character model, but with Munz's torso. I'll swap her cap for Munz's helmet too. The Danes don't deploy women on the frontline, but they do have some female royal engineers and, in Bosnia (in real life), they actually have two female tank gunners currently in service.

- I was thinking of doing something with Astra's character model too, most probably change the torso and swap the head for a male head (new [male] sniper specialist with hood and possibly a ghillie)

- And something unique.... The soldiers that don't have a pistol as a selectable secondary weapon will not have a pistol holster, and vice versa.

- Loads of other new character models... Tank driver with Danish body armour, Klaus Henkel with Dieter Munz's torso, possibly new enemy character models - done in much the same way, etc....

- I might even go as far as making the webbing (the Danes use the same webbing as the British, but in Danish camo for obvious reasons  ) slightly thicker than the character model, if you see what I'm saying (to give it that authentic look), not the pouches though, just the webbing itself.

So guys, what's your take on all this? Do you reckon I should do it? Doing it would mean that it will be even longer before the mod is released.

This keeps getting better!

Isn't the US helmet more like the Danish helmet than the German style (also this would require far less work! Also it gives you the option of having the helmet as an attachment (as in Wildcats Spec Ops mod) so various styles of headgear could be worn).

For the snipers (reg chrs) I would have them dressed and equipped as reg infantry with helmets and body armour - and would have them as designated marksmen with whichever rifle is most appropriate. This seems to be the most authentic way of operating (based on looking at images on militaryphoto's). Only specialists and the SF chrs would be without regular body armour.

I love the idea of the body armour and T-Shirt chrs for the desert skins.

I'm interested to see how the new male Astra will turn out. It sounds like a good idea to me.

Good luck!
CMH :D

PS I've sent you the updated skins -are they OK? I didn't actually check them in game.

Helmets? For snipers, ahem, "marksmen"? I'll put the snipers ("marksmen") in full rig, but have some with hoods up and ghillies, some with boonies and ghillies, and maybe, some with helmets. The specialist "male Astra" will of course also have hood up and ghillie, but won't have the body armor.

They look good, although, the Danes have camo webbing, not plain green as you made it (won't take a minute to fix). I have a nice image of a Jaeger calling in a Black Hawk, and it's abck view of him. You can see he's wearing a US Goretex (woodland) jacket and the Danish camo webbing (hit me up with a PM and I'll send you the pic)

I was guessing with the helmet, the US and German ones look very similar to me....

I know what you mean about snipers and helmets - in theory a sniper doesn't wear a helmet (creates too obvious a shape) but it's there in real life in the photo's - this is when the sniper/marksman is working in part of a patrol etc. Only when in the true sniper role (usually as a pair operating with a degree of independance forward of regular forces to either create a protective screen or to recon enemies forward positions/snipe at enemy forces/call in airstrikes) would they wear ghillie suits. A mix sound like a good idea, as it covers all eventualities! Will your snipers be equipped just as snipers or as spotters/sniper supports as well? Not sure how the Danes are set up for this. Perhaps an accurized Diemarco? Maybe someone on this site knows. You could equip some of the sniper chrs (in ghillie suits) with demos as the secondary weapon for stealthy demo missions?

Sorry about the webbing - I can fix it if you want.

How do you feel about putting some US gear in the mod?

What's the word on Argyll?
