  1. http://files.3dretreat.com/display.asp?catid=89&page=2 Ah cool thanks! I will have to look at those when I get some time! Too much house selling stuff going on.
  2. Went back and redid #9, worked fine of course. The thing I find humorous in that one is that we're supposed to be in the US but the leaders are muttering Russian - and the woman sounds like a man. I don't know if they have any female voice samples though for those people. I think I shall have to get my brother in law to translate these Russian mutterings and text (in signs/on walls in the game) for me sometime! Could be educational!
  3. Well I finished finally. I liked the ending of the last mission, that was fun. Kind of a sad note to end on though, not rescuing the guy!
  4. Yeah me too. BTW I just downloaded the 1.7 file, and mission 9 has an older "date modified" than the one I already have from the last patch...? I haven't played this one because the one I got from the previous patch worked, so I don't know if it's that you accidentally stuck the old version into the patch or...?
  5. Hey, my standard MO is NO casualties. Of course I save game way too often, but I managed to get through that one with no casualties finally! I'm going to have to go through though and just play straight through and not go back when someone dies. Yep the Embassy map - I recall you had to (in the original game) secure the bank first then head out past the embassy to check on the helo, at which point a tank came around the corner (whee!) and a bunch of guys came running up the street from both directions. Best escape was through the alley if you could get your whole team there fast enough. It was best to take your smallest team to investigate the site. I RAN through there as fast as I could and right straight to the alley without stopping or looking around. lol
  6. Yeah 'kill all enemies' is something you can get in 'quick mission' if you want. That doesn't appeal to me either. But the idea of making more bad guys for Elite is good. As far as levels of Bad guys, there was one particular mission in the mod "Saving Pilot Ryan" I believe, where you are dropped into a firefight at the crashed helo in one of the Russia (I forget the name of the original) maps. It's loaded with really poor shooting bad guys and I think I had to do it about thirty times in a row just to get past that initial firefight. I loved that.! Wish I could be more helpful with the scripting part but I haven't the foggiest idea how to start. My hubby keeps thinking of starting a little modding when he has the time -- he'd be awfully good, I think... but alas, work kinda cuts into the fun stuff.
  7. I got 12 of his books on ebay for a total of $18 including shipping. I had read R6 and loved it - that ending was too priceless. Went next to Without Remorse and once I got to the part where he starting 'hunting' the bad guys, I stayed up all night to finish the book. I started reading and next thing I knew it was 5 am when I closed it and put it down! I'm now on Debt of Honor. I just love Chavez and Clark. But I get into bed at night, and only manage to read a short section before I can't keep my eyes open any more. At least during the setup stage of the plot... later on it becomes much more riveting. Clancy's awfully good at that. I'm glad he doesn't dumb down his terminology too much for the masses.
  8. Did I say that? I didn't mean to. It's not a big deal if you make a mod and don't want to fix it, I can understand that -- I didn't mean to sound like I'm nagging you, so I'm sorry if I came off that way. As far as people fixing their mods, someone else can always tweak things anyway. It's totally up to the modder whether they want to spend the time. That being said, I am having trouble also now with mission 13. It won't register that I've searched the office. *sigh* Sorry to bring up another one for ya. But I hear scripting can be kind of a nitpicking kind of job, weird things are bound to happen but overall this is a great mod. (I could use more bad guys though... I spent too much time getting used to Rainbow6 III on Elite.
  9. Yeah - I did d/l the patches from *your* page which is the only place I found v1.6 - maybe I should go through them again and install them in order - perhaps I did a couple older patches on top of the newer patches and wasn't paying attention to which files were newer. I'll let you know. I'll try and get the file for weapon kit #3 for Lewis to you as well. LATER: OK mission 9 worked, probably was crediting me for finishing the objective, but it just didn't say so in the mission results screen. Mission 10 worked now when I did it in the order you probably expected. The order I completed it in before was to clear out the camp first, but some of the 'camp' enemies were elsewhere on the map so it didn't register that I had cleared them before I went in the tent to find the information. So then later on I killed them and then the 'added objective' popped up. But the trigger for fulfilling it, I guess had already been switched. that's my guess anyway.
  10. Ok I just did mission 10... still can't get objective three to register as completed on the mission results screen. But it lets me move on to the next mission, as it did in mission 9. I did get the message during the game that I had found info. But the 'added objective' popped up later, after I shot some roaming enemies that had left that area. I figure that's because it didn't register me as having cleared the camp until those guys were dead - then it gave me the 'camp cleared' and subsequent 'added objective' message... but the added objective was already fulfilled. No amount of hanging around in the tents would get it to fulfill again. The little dialogue messages seemed to be coming up at the wrong times, too. the "just when you thought it was over" message I thought probably was meant to have shown up after I cleared the last bad guys from the map, but it didn't... it popped up before that, when I was headed up the hill from the NE side. The last round of spawned bad guys did happen after I killed the last two enemies standing by the lodge (where they'd moved to after I'd passed by there with my teams). But I thought the message probably was supposed to coincide with that event.
  11. Ok did a little fidgeting in the kit folders - noted that Gurule (supposedly - judging by the filename) carries the same kit in slot 2 as Lewis does in kit 3. But their files were not identical. Inside the KIT TEXTURE tag, Gurule references the m4m9.rsb file where Lewis' kit file references the SopmodM9.rsb. I changed them both to match and now Lewis' kit shows up...I'm not sure if that gives him the kit you intended but at least he has something now in #3.
  12. I couldn't get Gurule to show up with any kit at all -- and on investigation I realized it was because his kit folder had his name spelled differently. I had transferred the files to the proper folder individually instead of just putting the hero's new folder into the kit folder. *Sigh* But Lewis is still missing kit 3. Doing some investigation on that. I have all the patches installed, and am playing on Elite, if that matters - but my main problem is this: Also cannot properly finish G09 (Against all enemies) - I pick up the leader(s) and head back to the EZ and the mission ends without crediting me for escorting them to the EZ. If any team gets to the EZ it ends, but doesn't credit me for picking up the prisoners. I did send you an email to your yahoo account about this but I didn't mention the Lewis/Gurule problem.
