Sart
Yeah the friendly AI in GR are not exactly great, but all there mistakes get erased once they do that one cool thing that saves you from being toast. Example... I just started a mission using the WOI modification, 20 minutes into it and me and the boys happen to run into a few baddies, more then us to be exact. Both my teams are on Recon, which is what I always use to move them, and Bravos scout happens to find all these troops standing about. So they hide in the bushes and point the guns (Heavy MG, Sub-Machine gun, and rifle) at the baddies. Me and the rest of Alpha swing around south and hold up in the bushes there. Basically the plan was to have Bravo suppress wile Alpha flanks them from the south. So I switch Bravo to suppress and they let them have it. Alot. Most of the baddies hid wile a few decided to shoot back. After about 5 seconds of shooting, I switch Alpha to assault and we start picking them off with some more accurate fire. Everything was going well until the baddies decided to come after me and my fire-team instead of Bravo. Backfired! So I'm sitting there with my rifle, along with the second guy in my fire-team trying to shoot this cluster up before they get to us! I switched Alpha to suppress hoping to help hold them back a bit longer, and wile me and my buddy are shooting, my other AI bud in Alpha stands up, slings his rifle, whips out his frags and BOOM. Kills about 3 guys. Which was pretty much the remaining bits of the enemies. Good guy he is!

TheoRetiKule
It's rare - but when it happens you just can't beat the feeling. A few months ago, I was playing SP Elite on the beach map towards the end of IT. Bravo (heavy support) and Charlie (lone sniper) were fossicking about somewhere near the spawn point - as leader of Alpha (stealth assault with me favourite Diemaco's from Frostbite... big thanx as ever, gents!), I'd ratcheted up such a decent attacking tempo that I and my single AI wingman had pushed right through to the villa at the north end of the beach. One well-aimed nade cleared the top floor - we stormed in and hit the deck to let me call up some reinforcements on the command screen. No such luxury - within a couple of secs I had to drop the map again to take down a tango trying to sneak round from the parking area. His mate ducked out of the field of fire but I knew he'd be back - they always are. And then I heard the patter of tiny feet coming up the stairs behind me. "Oh hell", thought I, "my ###### is toast". Got up to a crouch, still covering to the front, prepared as usual to take one with me... And then heard the rattle of my mate's Diemaco, and the joyful "Kill confirmed!". Couldn't exactly believe it, but dutifully kept my sights to the front as the barrel grew hot (probably) from smoking the hordes of commies who continued charging fearlessly but stupidly round the corner... ...while my AI buddy did the same. Perfectly positioned to command the stairwell, THAT AI SOLDIER CROUCHED AT MY SHOULDER AND COVERED MY SIX FOR THE FULL DURATION OF A TEN-MINUTE, DOUBLE-ENDED ENEMY ASSAULT. When it finally went quiet, we counted up the corpses: eight for him, ten for me (or thereabouts - as I said, it was a couple of months ago). The rest of the mission went almost as well. But here's a mention in despatches for one very brave, steadfast, rare and intuitive AI GR trooper... U|\|_N0_Nam3_01
once, i was playing firefight on DP02 Farm Day, and only had Alpha team with me {saves me alot of micromanaging} alpha's loadout was this: Alpha 1- M4 SOCOM + Frags Alpha 2- Bizon + M136 Alpha 3- M16 + M203 At the farmhouse, i opened the door from the side, and BAM! Alpha 1 was shot dead, so i switched to alpha 2 and set the team stance to prone, but before i could suppress the tangos in the building, alpha 3 stood up and fired an m203 round into the first floor, killing all those pesky russians. that probably made up for the time an AI got me killed. i was playing M15, and i had Combot ROE set on Supress. my rifleman [armed with an m16 + m9] shot at a russian tank, who otherwise, would've passed us, but decided to kill us thanks to the stupidity of my team

Rocky
This isn't GR, but it is a cool AI moment from a new shooter (Stalker). Apparantly the AI in Stalker is pretty advanced, they live in their own little world with little in the way of scripted events. Anyway, apparantly one of the AI was spotted shooting himself with a little too much enthusiasm, it seems he had spotted his own foot out of the corner of his eye and thought it must be an enemy so started blasting away! RussiaGhost
In 3 task, I had 3 teams. 1 alpha, I demolition of sa80 and 4 AT4. 2 Bravo a shooter with two machine-gunner with mp5sd rpk74 \ rg6. 3 Charlie a shooter with ak103 and RPO-A and 2 engineer specialist. 3 squad went atakavat southern detachment and 2 is also a cover. I went to the other side. Paulsen as I killed all my enemies, I began to advance towards the bridge to destroy tanks. Watching my troops kill 3 enemies in a bush nearby and a Russian soldier sits. And then my gunner rises and pereklyuchaetsya for rg6 and 2 machine gun, too, and both shot in the Russian enemy grenade. Mission accomplished remains to destroy the main force. I pull up Charlie on the bridge so that they destroyed the soldiers while I attack the tanks. At this time the shooter pereklyuchaetsya on RPO-A and shoots at the enemy group and kills almost all enemies in tanks. 2 Russian hid behind the destroyed tank and machine-gunners have killed them from the rg6. All enemies have been killed except for 1 reason he then surrendered and was shown as a prisoner.
