  1. agree 100%. Not sure what the devs were thinking here.
  2. my guess is alot of people are going to have this problem. the 360 just wasn't designed as well as the xbox in terms of stability. the thing overheats way tooo easily.
  3. awsome job. very good read. Finally some detailed information worth reading about topics that are actually of real importance to people. Classes, character profiles, pacing, lag, hit detection. A++. Thanks Ick. Real meat and potatoes stuff. This is a breath of fresh air after the never ending over-hype of the cross com coming from most of the game press.
  4. yea I don't play AI at all really. Im speaking strictly Multiplayer against other humans. The spraying and general acradey feeling of how the weapons/ballistics/hit-detection worked is the thing that most frustrated me. It just wasn't challenging or fun anymore. It didn't really feel like you earned any of your kills because you didn't really have to be accurate. I just like my games challenging and GR2/SS was too dumbed down in that department for me. The easiest way to sum it up would be to say, you no longer had to be precise with your shooting which kind of turned it into a spray fest like every other shooter. Most of the tactical issues stem from OTS being manipulated, but my main gripe was the way the weapons weren't really about the 1 shot kill anymore and since you could strafe all over the place spraying and still get kills it kind of took the slow pace away from the game. Who knows maybe the PC version will be the stinker. I would certainly love to be wrong and be having fun blasting all you guys online looking at my Plasma sitting on my couch.
  5. If the ballistics and the hit detection are like they were in GR2 and SS, then it doesn't matter how tactical or slow you play or who you play with. In GR2 and SS you could spray full auto across the map and get kills. It's hard to be tactical and organize a rush on a position too when some jabroni is sitting behind a wall using OTS to get a sneak preview of your whole team coming. I don't buy the whole mouse and keyboard arguement either, because [GR] and GRIT for xbox were both very challenging and precise aiming systems where you had to use single shot and controlled burst to be accurate. You had to hold still to be accurate, unlike all the strafing and double joysticking kills that plagued GR2/SS multiplayer. Myself and many others felt like the [GR] and GRIT engine and shooting worked extremely well, was challenging and made the game so much more enjoyable because it wasn't like coasting on auto pilot when firing the weapons. That's what myself and so many others that were fans of the first game are hoping for again. Hopefully even though GRAW is essentially using the GR2 engine again, it will be an evolution and everybody will be happy. I just thought an expansion might be cool anyway and offer a different flavor. prolly never happen, just an idea.
  6. lucky indeed. See I want to play the PC version too, but don't want to invest in a expensive PC after buying the 360. I dunno Im sure the PC ported version of the game would sell like hotcakes too on 360 and Ubi could net a nice profit from what I am assuming would be a somewhat easy port/expansion pack. I agree the 360 version looks to be shaping up nicely, but I just can't help this feeling in my gut that it's gonna play real similiar to GR2. I just didn't enjoy GR2 or SS at all so this where im coming from. PC version seems to be catered to the [GR] freaks, and im certainly one of em.
  7. Here's a great idea. How bout releasing the PC version of the game on 360 a few months down the line including both SP and MP. Maybe branding it as a tactical expansion pack. This way Ubi would cash in, 360 owners would get the more tactical experience developed for the PC, new FPWV experience, and get to fight in mexico city in both SP and MP. A win win for everybody. More sales, more happy GR fanatics, and more quality FPS on the 360. Im sure porting it over would be easy on the pocketbook for the devs too.
  8. me 2 man. pretty much everything was spot on in [GR]. I think it was one of those freak accidents of a game that come along and never quite happen a 2nd time. Hopefully GRAW will be something new and good too.
  9. theres nothing realistic about it. Especially when your talking OTS. You can see around objects that are physically blocking your eyes, so lets not go there. As it is right now in GR2 and SS, you can run a circle around another player faster than they can track you with the look stick. How is that realistic. The solution is easy, just give players the option and choice to adjust the speed slightly higher and slightly lower than the default. No reason to be extreme. Rainbow six did it. Almost every other FPS has done it. It's a nice option really.
  10. actually it's quite easy to implement. Just make it so the highest setting is not too fast. There's no reason it has to be that dramatic. And lets not even talk about realistic because OTS and seeing around objects pretty much throws that arguement out the window already. As it is right now in GR2 and SS, you can run around a person faster than they can look and track you. Now that is ridiculous. Try it for yourself sometime. Have one of your teamates run a circle around you and try and follow him with your look stick. You can't do it. Now think about it and turn your head in real life. It's ridiculous. I'm just asking if they could please implement the option to adjust the look sensitivity slightly. Almost every other console FPS has the option and everybody plays differently. The devs have made alot comments lately about wanting to give the players the choices and options to play their way. I don't see how this doesn't factor in a big way.
  11. yea halo is a tough one. I ended up on 5, one speed higher than default and it's pretty smooth.
  12. haha naw man. although you'd probably have a much better chance against me if you could adjust the look speed to your personal comfort level
  13. thanks!, Now we just need a little clarification from one of the kind Dev's out there.
  14. yea it's an option for pretty much every other console games, including ubi games like Rainbow six series. It's real simple. In the options theres usually a slider or something similiar that allows you to increase the look sensitivity on the Right Stick on the controller. This way you can slow down or speed up the speed of your look on the X or Y axis. It helps alot because not everybody has the same reaction time or speed. Some people like it slower, some faster. Makes the gameplay much more enjoyable when the devs don't force 1 speed on everybody.
  15. So this question keeps getting dodged, and I'm curious if one of the Devs or people that know could chime in. Are we going to be able to controll look sensitivity somewhat for GRAW ? I'm worried after that latest preview from Prodigous which stated that they couldn't figure out how to do it and that it felt too slow. [GR] felt just right to me, and GR2/SS was too slow. It's only fair to give people some options in the control set. Personally, I think this is way more important of an option that dressing up a character with different hats or sunglasses, as it relates to the enjoyment of gameplay.
