Ping

Recommended Posts

In simple terms, Ping tells you how fast you are connecting to another machine or server. As a general rule, anything under 150 is good. Anything over 300 is bad, and you need to try to reconnect or find another game.

The green or red bars next to players names are an indicator of this, yes. Green being good, red not so good.

To tell how fast you are connecting to a specific IP address, open a command window by going to Start, Run, and typing in cmd in Win2K or XP, and in 98 or ME, the word command.

This will open a command prompt window. In this window, type in ping, a space, then the IP addy you want to ping, and hit enter. It will give you the info you are looking for.

When I used to play on UBI my ping was always +600 I never really lagged though.

The other players on the other hand....... MWAHAHAHAHAHA I guess I was causeing the matrix type effect where my slow speed slowed them down but let me move before them... thus resulting in them shooting at me in one spot but due to slow down I was more to the side of where they were shooting. :o=
