I didn't actually plan to post this one here, but it's a cool trick you can use in many situatuations: When modelling barrels, cylinders etc. where you can see the top of the object I guess you all have noticed this edges that easy tell that the barrel is not exactly round and to prevent this you have to add in a bunch of more polys. Well, I'm now and then playing some Hidden & Dangerous 2 and I noticed how they did it. (HD2 had awesome graphics on some parts, but the gameplay isn't the best and the AI is stupido) What they did was to create the cylinder, delete the top and bottom of the barrel and draw a 4 sided plane over it. Then create an alpha channel around the top of the barrel texture and align it with the top of the barrel. Result: you have a smooth barrel top. One for the worm this, the array tool, greats great random paterns of what ever you clone, so if he made 1 single poppy, and then used the array tool, he could have a whole field.
