  1. Hi John, I was thinking that maybe this is a bug or something? Because of where I had saved the game, I was able to restart just near where this happened, and every time I crossed the same point, (it was a few times because I kept getting knocked off by a hidden gunman ) the diamonds would all appear, the gunfire would be heard, all the diamonds would disappear. That was on easy. As soon as I restarted and got to that point on normal (hard is starting to take the fun out for me) the phenomenon didn't happen. They all still spawned, but weren't killed off. I had to work my through them all with some 5.56mm, which hadn't happened before. Although I can't do mission making, I thought it would have been a very odd way to take out extra enemy to make it easier. Anyway, at least it seems I may have found a way to stop it happening. I can't say 100% yet because I haven't got to the Manosos mission. I know for sure that it happened again along the canal at the end. If it doesn't happen there either, I'll let you know here. Thanks for your reply, and cheers for all your missions and maps, myself and the boys will be playing a lot of them over the next few months. Your efforts are much appreciated. Cheers.
  2. Hi all, if it helps anyone else reading this that may just want to play with friends co-operatively, me and my mates tried both Tunngle and GameRanger without any success. Hamachi worked straight out the box though. I've read threads where people said that both Tunngle and GameRanger worked, but not for us, and we did try all kinds of suggestions. If anyone else has tried those options and failed, then try Hamachi. Someone host a network on Hamachi, get your mates to join your network, then same person start the game and host a LAN game, either campaign or mission, and everyone else should see the game in their local server list once it's up and running. Join as normal and have a blast. Hope that helps. I hope that may help anyone who's struggled with Tunngle or GameRanger
  3. Hi John, (if you still visit here?) a few years later and I find myself re-visiting this thread, having originally reported what I thought may be a bug in Operation Manosos, part of your Cartel campaign. As I got to certain trigger points, more enemy bots would spawn ahead of me, obviously part of your mission making. If all had worked I would never know they'd spawned, I would just come across them making my way through the map. However, when they spawned they were visible by their enemy identifying red diamonds ahead of me, and within a second or two, all appeared to be killed off by gunfire that could be heard in the distance. You could watch all the diamonds disappear as the gunfire erupted until all were gone. I may have found the answer. When I re-installed GRAW 2 a few days ago, played your campaign and the exact same thing happened again on the first mission, I wondered if it was the game taking out extra bots because it was on 'easy' mode. I replayed the first mission again just now on 'normal' to see what would happen and lo', no red diamonds or distant gunfire, but a lot of extra bots appearing where before there had only been the weapons left behind by the bots that had been killed off. So, only a few years late, but having remembered this thread, thought I would post in case you were interested. You may not be now, but if it happens to anyone else, they may read this and know how to possibly fix it. Normal didn't seem too different from easy to be honest, just more enemy bots now, and that wasn't such a bad thing. Cheers. Rykers.
  4. Thanks John, I appreciate anything you can do, but I'm really enjoying playing the campaign despite that little hiccup. It just seems a shame that you put in all that work along the canal and I didn't get to take on the challenge you'd set. it's only happened the once in mission four, and only one spawned set of AI, though I'm damned if I could describe which bit of the mission it was, sorry. I'll keep on playing though and if you manage to find a fix then brilliant, otherwise not to worry, I'll enjoy it anyway. Cheers. Rykers.
  5. Hi John, A quick question about Operation Manosos, part of you Cartel campaign. When I enter the river canal at the end of the mission, to make my way to the new extraction point, and I start to walk along, I obviouslt trigger something that spawns some AI behind cover etc, all as planned I would assume. However, when they spawn I see a load of red diamonds where they've spawned behind cover ahead of me, which I don't get at any other time when playing, then I can hear very faint (what sounds like) gunfire and then the red diamonds disappear one by one along with death groans and thumps as the bodies hit the floor. This happened at each trigger point all along the river and up into the extraction point, so everyone was killed for me apart from maybe 3 AI in differing places who seemed to have survived whatever killed everybody else. I wondered if this was a bug or am I doing something wrong? It happened again in the nest mission too, where the AI spawned ahead of me, but after seeing their diamonds appear, they were all killed very quickly one after another in the space of just a couple of seconds. Odd. Otherwise, what a great campaign, thanks for all the work you've obviously put in. I'm only on mission four so far, so more to look forward to. Cheers for any pointers you can give about the 'sudden death' AI. Rykers.
  6. Sorry John. I've sold my wife and kids for a camel and am about to set off for 40 days and nights in Wisbeach as penance. :'(
  7. Correct. And thanks to you and your little elves for all the effort you've obviously put in.
  8. Stuff installing Ghost Recon sometime soon, I'm about to do it now! Just hope the other half isn't watching too closely.
  9. Ah, thanks John, I'll do that. And Riley, I think you meant play more of the original game rather than the coop missions in GRAW2. Having followed the link on your reply to see what it was, I've downloaded Claiming Liberty with the intention of installing Ghost Recon again sometime soon and giving it a go. Thanks for that. Cheers. Rykers.
  10. Thanks for that John. Saw in the mod readme that it was also for campaign play, so maybe we've done something wrong. I made sure anti-cheat was off on the server options too in case that could cause any prolems with the mod. Hopefully Rahn might see this and offer a solution like you said. Riley, thanks for that, lol. We plan on doing the campaign some nights and OGR missions on others. Seeing as John went to all that work, it seems only fair to play his campaign all the way through. Cheers for the swift replies. Rykers.
  11. Hi all, I have been playing online coop with a friend using the brilliant Rahnman's mod (thanks Rahnman, great piece of work) and everything has been fine, apart from the 'Z' bug which caught me out a couple of times until I found the reason for it. We recently tried playing the Cartel campaign with the mod running and my friend crashes to desktop when he tries to join my server. We also tried the original campaign with the mod and same problem. Installed GRAW2 on my spare PC and hosted a game and tried to join with the mod over my LAN and same problem again. This rules out what I thought might be the problem of his copy being a Steam copy and his OS being Vista. Both my PC's games are from the disc and both running XP SP3. We can both play the Cartel campaign fine if we don't run Rahnman's mod and finished mission 1 last night just fine. (Thanks John, brilliant work and looking forward to playing the rest) I can play with the mod and in campaign mode offline just fine, just seem to get it when he tries to join in online mode. Is this just 'one of those things', or is there anything we can do about it? We both have GRAW2 v1.05 and Rahnman's mod v4.01. Thanks for any suggestions, or even a 'don't bother, it doesn't work' would be helpful. The mod is great as I don't need to select single shot and the shotgun is just awesome, but we can live with the stock weapons if we have to as the campaign was so good to play. Just would be nice to use the mod as we like the mix and match style of weps available. Cheers. Rykers.
  12. Thanks for that Tinker, It sounds better than the GRAW method before it was patched with OGR Co-op. Cool, just need to wait for my mucker to get his Steam account sorted then we can try it out. Cheers for the replies fella's, I'm glad that the Ghost Recon series is still kicking and that this site has been a source of mods and help for so long. All the best. Rykers.
  13. Hi John, If I remember correctly, in GRAW you could respawn as long as you weren't the host (therefore Squad Leader) and you could only respawn if there were AI in the squad. For example, just two of us playing means as long as I didn't go down, my mate would be able to respawn twice then it would be curtains for him after that. Three in the squad would mean only the first one to go down would get a chance to respawn and then it was out for good after that. (we're all in our 40's and 50's and just casual gamers) Long time since I played that way in GRAW but that's how I remember it. It was very frustrating having been playing the original Ghost Recon and all the add-on packs for ages very happily, buying GRAW assuming new was better, and suddenly we had to put up with that or nothing. I for one was very happy when they finally patched the game with the OGR co-op mode and we could all play again and actually make use of the game. I'm finding GRAW2 a bit frustrating to use compared to GRAW, and I'm dying almost instantly playing custom co-op by myself, even on the easy setting. Just need to get used to it probably. I remember playing Ghost Recon for the first time and thinking the same thing. Up until then it had been Half-Life and Quake 1 and 2, lol. I'm rambling so better stop. Cheers for your posts. Rykers.
  14. Just as an after thought, was just reading the thread about 'God' mode in SP. Is it possible to edit an .xml file for the online campaign to allow for greater hits before you go down, as an alternative to not being able to respawn a whole lot if that's the case? If I turn off anti-cheat (which to be honest I don't need on anyway, as there's just the two of us playing co-op) would it be possible to hook up online without my mate being kicked for cheating? Don't know the ins and outs of this game to know if that's a really stupid question or not. Apologies if it is. Cheers.
  15. Thanks John and Tinker for your swift replies. Please forgive my ignorance about this game, I literally just installed it yesterday having installed it once about 18 months ago, taking it straight off again when I realised there were hardly any custom co-op missions for it, which is all I play with GRAW. I see there are a lot more custom co-op missions available now and I didn't realise at the time that you could play the ,SP campaign with a buddy, which seems pretty cool. As my friend has GRAW2 also, it seemed like a good idea to try it again. Could you just explain to me Tinker how the respawns work in campaign co-op. I usually host the game so going by GRAW1, i would be team leader. Would he get an option to respawn on me which is obvious to him should he go down? Is it only him that has a respawn option, or if I go down, can I respawn on him, even though I'm the host? If I set the number of respawns in the settings to 0 does that mean infinite? Sorry for so many questions, I can't try this out with my friend online at the moment as he's having problems with Steam which he's got GRAW2 with. One last one, will my mate need to have the Brettzies weapons mod installed to be compatible with me online? I presume so if I'm running it.. Haven't installed it on his copy yet as his game is with Steam and he's messed up somehow and needs to fix it first. Do you know if it'll install ok with a Steam copy of GRAW2? Just to make matters worse he's got that awful OS known as Vista. Ok guys, thanks for helping me out. We'll hopefully get online soon and put all this into practice, but in the meantime, I really appreciate your taking some time for a GRAW2 newbie. Cheers for now. Rykers.
