methz68
With the release of the new Dash update NXE I'd like to know if there is anything to gain in having the game installed to HDD rather then running off DVD Rom? I have read that Halo 3 caches the maps to areas of the hdd and becasue of the read write nature of hdd's it will actually slow things down. http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?ty...s&cid=16252 I have installed GRAW2 to the HDD and other then rom drive noise stopping I havent noticed any problems with loading, but I 'd still like to know if its advisble to do a HDD install. cajun47
i dont have room to install more than one game, that leaves me with enough room for a demo maybe. a 20 gig hdd on next gen systems, thanks micro but i won't buy a larger over priced hdd. anyway i installed fallout 3 and found it ran much smoother, maybe giving it better frames per second? methz68
Been running GRAW2 on HD since the NXE update and I can't say I notice any difference in loading times, When I can be bothered I'll run a stop watch and see if there is any diffence in running from DVD or HD. beonder13
Load times seems quicker, non use of disc drive makes it a lot quieter and less chance of freeze ups from scratches in disc and such.
shadowfacex
I think that NXE has nothing to do with the loading times (I might be wrong), but there is a huge difference in running the game from the DVD and HDD. It loads much faster from HDD.
