  1. This is to those who have not seen this video clip, I saw it and was stoked. A must see for GRAW players- FTS Note: This is how I thought GRAW was going to be... I still enjoy playing it anyway.
  2. Finally made it to the last post. Some have seen my postings and many may disagree with them. I fall into hobbies now and then depending on cash flow and momentum in the industry and to this I got to state... Isnt it frustraring that people spend $300 for a Microsoft or Sony console, then next year buy another one for $500, then $600 on the next and the same goes with the games... $30, $40, $50 etc etc. Whats gonna be? XBOX720 for a grand by the year 2008 while in fact PCs are getting more robust and cheaper with technology. I have played a few FPS games on Sony and by the end of the day I admire the ones that say they prefer console instead of PC. The mouse control over the joystick is way better and the same has been said with many of my buddies. Some do play joystick games, as I refer to them, because they are classics only for that unit or are not available for PC. The only thing I like about new joystick units coming out is that I can buy the old ones for my kids at very cheap prices, but thats it. I Know medics are not that great and by that you brought up the subject of Quake 4. Well, I see it as a guaranteed saved in the mission instead of starting all over again. Back to the subject, IMO if GRAW 2 is the same style just different missions then its a waste of money. Las Vegas covers new ground and Splinter Cell is one of my favorites with the stealth approach and definitely tactical point of view. In GRAW; besides the constant online server crashes, bugs etc, thats not a big deal. I hope that they stay away from the sepia, at least for a few missions. Has anybody played Blood Omen 2 or Devil May Cry? These games takes you in a roller coaster, the character evolves, becomes better, stronger, more weapons, more dynamic missions as one progresses. Splinter Cell does the same thing, more weapons, communications with its team is key, etc etc. Every mission, every level was for me a new better game. To those who like to stay on the same rank then GRAW is for you. Its difficult to make reality in ones and zeros, maybe at some point the ghosts should have as team members people from Britain, maybe another military force. Its just incredible when there is so much information, ground beef to grasp from that its simply just ignored. At the same time many of my friends do not like the too tactical side of it because some dude knows the map like the palm of his hand or has played so 20,000 hours that does not even need to look to shoot when turning or just maybe has the latest all mighty patches to make him/her RAMGRAW, lol, what the hell I typed it. This game got hurt from all sides. Who knows? after all this I will end up buying the new one, if it comes out after all, and will come back with a Bipolar attitude. Note: Play it safe and dont let computer games affect your social life as stated by the new book Playstation Nation, LOL.
  3. Ok, to put it all in a nut shell. The game has good graphics, nice sceneries and thats it. The game plan is dumb, I shoot you, You shoot me. Besides tactics, there is nothing new. The only reason this game leave others in the shadow is because of its graphics, plot, warriors have no improvement. Soldiers do not get better once you advance on other missions. No more weapons, no more soldiers, nothing. The first mission is the same as the last, different leash, same dog. When you portray a game that sells, not the ultimate, but the future of hardcore combat... this game certainly is not it. That is not a complaint- that the damn soldier does not run when reloading. Oh no... it does not happen in real life. You know how frustrating it is when I decide to reload and I see a grenade falling from the sky or someone comes out of the darkness and all you can do is walk. Its not that it should be developed like I wanted it to. It should have been developed like its suppose to act. There should be a feature that will force the soldier release the magazine even if the penalty would be to lose that magazine, lets say by pressing some letter in the keyboard to override the present action. The soldier will not drop down quickly if he is reloading. You know what it is someone comes out to shoot while reloading and the least you can do is to go prone and the damn stupid soldier is taking his time reloading, daaaaa. Here is the other one; no shooting while running, daaaaa... Oh no it never happens, is legit, it would be awesome to running into a place and start spraying lead everywhere. Its just dumb... I am there running and I want to shoot because I see the enemy up front and a grenade at the same time. Its not my taste; its the way it was suppose to act, to react. I dont care if they want to hear me or not. Its my opinion, thats what I M O means.... Its not the facts, its what I see with a non marketing approach. I dont need to convince anybody, I dont need to believe in anybody. This I can tell you... Open a poll asking the question about: Would it be good that the soldier would shoot while running? Would it be good that the soldier could grab enemy weapons? Would it be good to have more variety in weaponry? What would you change from GRAW? What would you not? Would you like night vision on all episodes? What other features could be added for night combat? When all those questions are answered thats when good games are created. I may not know how to program in PowerPoint or make an artwork in Paint, but I do know what is daaa and what is totally mindblowing like COD2. Dont get me wrong, is a very good game, but it did not delivered what it portrayed thru all there trailers and marketing efforts.
  4. I here you bro... Like I have mentioned before, please GRAW fans dont get mad at me for posting in some way, not so good comments about the game sour points. I was away from PC gaming for a while until a friend pushed me me in to try BIA (Brothers In Arms) and Call of Duty 2 and then I was hooked once again. Well, I saw GRAW and all its fancy trailers showing them in full combat action. All the tech talk, flashy clips, insane explosions, intense combat actions, etc etc... mixed with some whip cream on the top. Went and bought it just to see this game is like getting a donut, put some whip cream and a nice sugar flower to make it sell like a wedding cake, but once you get the first byte what a dissapointment. This is the problem when the gaming industry tries to make games look like the real deal. Its one of the 2; IF you are good at real portrait rendering then go for it, if not then stick with abstrack design. If you shoot for the real deal then everybody will look at what looks real and what not. The company had a very good concept. To me the game feels empty and well because they are trying to make it as real as possible, the game lacked a lot of reality. Examples; No shooting while running and no running while reloading. If you play Call of Duty 2 you will understand what I am talking about. CAD2 will keep you on your 5 senses in the middle of battlefield when at many times you will be just shocked hiding in a corner in a black out and then realize, hey its just a game... lets keep rolling, its that intense. GRAW, its like a I shoot you you shoot me, I am hiding here, come and get me. Its a game that you will be smokin everybody, full combat, and then out of the blue some dork hiding in a stupid corner boom and you are dead. All that fun adn enjoyment becomes total frustration. The game does not really develop the fear and the adrenaline rush like other warfare close combat games, IMO! What about when the mexicans saying in spanish all they are doing, lame... I am bilingual and I knew when they were reloading and where they were going. I think if we are dealing with hardcore enemies the people from Ubisoft could have used communication codes, sign language, etc... whistling, throwing stuff to cal attention... maybe the option of banging on a wall to distract etc... I am not saying all the time, but c'mmon some imrpovising would have been cool. Compare the game to Rainbow Six, Las Vegas where soldiers can shoot and throw grenades at the same time. Thats true, thats real life. In GRAW; throwing a grenade takes the skill of a keyboard, shuffle in the weapons menu between gun and grenade. Another example; in Las Vegas, you can install the silencer (its an option) in the middle of combat to supress noise and remove it if you need longer reach. In GRAW; if you dont select the sliencer at the beginning you are toast. The same goes in the middle of the game, it cannot be removed. So, its got some deals that makes the game feel like one one path can be taken and thats it. The game is not flexible and fluid. When I started the game I was waiting for jets to shred zones, tank to tank warfare; I was expecting what they protrayed which was to have a taste of the latest warfare with GRAW and all it was is the little glasses with Cross coms and anyway its useless in multiplayer mode. I M O PS: But it was only forty bucks.
  5. It may it may not, but at least it will keep you busy and learn some stuff on the way. Check if you have system restore and push the computer back to the date before the installation. If you dont have system restore follow the next steps. 1. Shutdown and restart computer, remove all temporary files 2. Run scan disk defragmenter 3. Run a registry cleaner 4. Scan the computer for antiviruses and if you can get Bug Doctor 5. See if you can find from Add/Remove programs and run it again the remove GRAW. 6. Start>Run> MSCONFIG and go to the startup tab. See if you can find any software related to Ubisoft or Ghost Recon... remove the check mark IF there is such startup program for GRAW. 7. C>Program Files>Ubisoft and remove completely that folder. 8. Just in case run scan disk defragmenter. By the way feel free to use there 1-800 from the product box for any further questions. Visit the website from Ubisoft. I will do some research on the meantime this is assuming you are using factory discs. These above steps may or may not help but feel well that your computer got a fresh cleanup.
  6. I know mwhat you mean about the side stepping. The enemy seems like it is dancing side to side to evade bullets. Lets be realistic, when I shoot 30 rounds within 20 feet pointing straight at somebody IMO there should be no side stepping to save there skin. C'mmon, I have shot soldiers from 8 feet away withe support machine gun. IMO I dont need to have the cross hairs 100% on him to make him/her go down. I even fan the rifle side to side to shred everything within that scope and still it does not eliminate the opponent unless the machine gun is fired almost to perfection. I see it this way that in real life you get shot with an Ak-47 or a sub machine gun there is no need to have Sharp shooter skills to get hit. The support rifle is like shooting with a shot gun that bullets (or pebbles) fan out to destroy everything on its way. Thats how the game is and there nothing I can do about it. Its love or leave it deal. I dont want any GRAW fans to get mad at me or anything like that. The support rifle has plenty of power to shred thru walls or bullet proof vests. Its just a game, I have fun and thats what counts but please dont try to cover the sky with the palm of your hand. The side stepping should work when using single shot, but I see it lame that is effective when also the person is receiving shots from a full automatic. Do the same thing on real life, in other words; its unreal and is a fact. So, this is a game of who has better skills dancing La Macarena while been showered with bullets? Its lame, I shoot somebody first on fully automatic there should be no doubt that soldier is going down, In My Opinion. This is the first game where I have to develop the unrealistic dancing evading skills.
  7. Sounds like you have some mighty smart clanmates. Back to the question at hand. Not happy with GRAW as it's not fun to play, doesn't even remotely feel like the [Ghost Recon] and I've had more CTD's,lock ups, bugs etc. with this game than all my other games combined. Play a friends copy or try the demo before you fork over any cash for this game. Strickly IMO IMO IMO...!!!!!!! PROS: 1. Sound is super realistic, graphics are next to perfect. 2. Textures, scenes of towns, sound of leaves, gravel etc... perfect. 3. Deaths are very real, one shot to the head you are dead, not like other games that you have to get shot about 10 times. I was playing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and I to kill a guard I had to shoot him 3 times in the head with a 9mm pistol from 20 feet away, in GRAW one shot to the head be it 10 feet or 300 feet you are toast. 4. Multiplayer has minor bugs, compatability is almost glitch free. 5. Tons of maps for the outdoors. Maps develop different skills in weaponry; from sniper deathmatchs to close combat prozaic actions. 6. Game loads up real quick compared to other FPS games. 7. Ubisoft is conscious of bugs and is always trying to have updates online. Cons: 1. The soldiers do not run while reloading, so if somebody is shooting you while you are reloading, toats. 2. The soldier cannot shoot at all from prone position, very very difficult. 3. The soldiers will not shoot while you have the shift key (running) pressed. So, if you are running and stumble into somebody and press Left Mouse click to shoot and still have shift down, forget... it wont shoot. I think is lame because in reality you can shoot while running and in fact would look super cool to be sprinting and shooting even just to intimidate or for support fire specially when you have 300 rounds in your magazine. 4. Low budget Geforce and ATi video cards 256 and even 512 RAM will (SOMETIMES) not run or crash in the middle of the game. It does not matter if you have the latest updates or the BIOS is frshly reflashed. 5. On Multiplayer mode expect some cheating and do not let it dissapoint you, keep playing, get better. I know there is cheating... When you fire 6 shots to the body point blank with a Glock and the guy does not go down something is going on or spray them with a the M8 10 feet away and no harm...fishy indeed. Its part of the computer world. I know I dont cheat and I try to have fun and get the most of those $40.00 bucks spent. 6. I am very very dissapointed with the availability of weapons, very very minimal. When I read the reviews about the soldier of the future I was expecting to test the latest and greatest in warfare, in GRAW that is not the case. One or two cool weapons; not a lot of variety in grandes, rocket launchers, mines, differetn kinds of explosives that would have made the game much more interesting. I think they placed all efforts in tactitacl warfare. 7. You cannot drive any vehicles, no heavy machine guns. 8. You cannot swap weapons from dead soldiers, but these are not glitches, I see it more as a game with very minimal features. I got to give Splinter Cell a 10 out of 10 in thise field. No thermal vision etc. Before I forget the cross coms does not work on multiplayer mode that is the camera view of other soldiers and is a real bummer. During single player mode it sucks that your support soldiers are always repeating stupid commands and this feature cannot be disabled. At some points the soldiers will stay on a loop repeating the same command again and again. Soldiers may not follow orders at some point, etc etc. Another thing during AI is compared to Splinter Cell were being in total darkness without being seen makes sense. In GRAW, you can be 500 feet away between bushes and it seems the AI has ultrasonic vision and an accuracy that makes Clint Eastwood look like a rookie. Those little things may or may not drive you off. For me, its $30 or $40 bucks. I have bought many other games that look to unreal and dumb and GRAW did all it could to make it happen to the FPS fanatic. In my opinion if you are into a killing frenzy and shooting everyting that moves like Predator so then buy instead Counter Strike or Quake 4. If you are into tactical games where you depend of your team to be successful then GRAW is the game. Like I said before, I am no Chuck Norris or McGyver, I do like it, graphics is part of a wonderful game, multiplayer action has no comparison, spontaneous and crazy at the same time. Have Fun and have a good one.
  8. BPR_MIK quesion...> How do I get the password so I can play on that server? I am totally legit and in no intention to flood or corrupt the playing environment. I tried playing the British Paras for a few days and it worked fine. I could connect without a server, now it asks for a password. It did happened on one I did get kicked and dont know why, I follow the simple rules of no spawning, no team killing, camping, no cheating or altering files, no cursing, etc .... This game is out of this world. I am still polishing my skills and just going with the flow. Can you believe this? I take vacation days to play GRAW, nothing I ever saw myself doing. Like every game it has its flaws and bad glitches which I posted in the technical support. I am not making this up what I posted above. I will try to make some changes to the video card. I notice that I always get a ping of 50 to 60 all the time, in fact I dare to say I am usually the lowest one. Doesnt that mean anything? What is Punk Buster used for? Is it better to have the firewall on or off?
  9. Hello everybody, Thank you for having me here in this great forum. This opened topic is to whoever may help provide more information about the topic of cheating and hacking in GRAW. Please do not flame me without removing the gun out of the hulster. This is my own personal experience of playing GRAW online multiplayer mode. The following I have noticed: Be adviced I have a GeForce 7950 GX2 overclocked, 1 Gb of DDR2, Pentium D 2.80 Ghz, SATA HD with an Intel 945 chip motherboard. - Soldiers who when I shoot them run lightning fast or tend to float 10 feet on every step. For example this enemy soldier is running toward me, I shoot him and he moves to the side like 10 feet and on his next step like another 10 more. - I am on top of a platform 5 feet above the ground behin d a wall, this player passes me by, without even pointing up... shoots while he is still running the other way... ??? Mysteries of the dark side indeed! - In the next situation I am located North, this soldier is running from East to West less than 15 feet apart. I shoot him 7 times, he stops running, turns and shoots me and on one shot I am dead. - This other soldier, 6 shots straight to the chest less than 50 feet with the rifle while he is running toward me because I am in the dark inside one of the garages. He points and shoots while running. You all know that when Shift is pressed you cannot shoot... How he can do it? I have to say the most thing that bothers me is when I catch them running and they havent even stopped. I dont even hear the shot and then I am dead. Man many times I have to shoot about 10 or more shots to get them down. I am not the only one, I have read from other people as well who say many enemies are bullet proof. Ammunition, grenades: I have seen soldiers who have endless supply of grenades. Snipers who have an endless supply of bullets. I have even done it on purpose. Stand still in a corner and start counting sniper bullets from the same rifle. I know is the same and I know he is not back from a refresh life because of the menu that shows if he has been killed and who he snipes. Regarding my combat skills: I am no Rambo or The Punisher for any fact. I have seen my shooting accuracy is worst than crap, unless he is 4 feet away and still anyway the other person turns and shoots, how he does it, magic... ultra fast lightning precision. Here is this other example: Soldier is coming up a stairs, I am standing still waiting for him to come up. I shoot 5 times with the rifle, fully automatic looking thru the scope making sure all shots get the head. He does not go down... I see no rifle up to point and shoot, just he running... and boom I am dead once again. A lot of people may be sick of all the other people who are always complaining and whining. I state all the above because I do like GRAW a lot and it is very dissapointing that there certainly is some cheating going on. I am just discouraged and bummed out by all these. I get sick of spraying lead all over. I even shoot in a lower area because I know the rifle kicks badly. I dont use the heavy gunner nor the sniper rifle. Like I said, I am no marksmanship Expert, but c'mmon... I feel like I am playing against a battalion of Scarface high on crack cocaine with more lifes than a cat. Before I forget... This morning I was playing and killed myself quickly to be on Death Cam to check out other players. Map: Its the one that has all the fog and is like a construction factory grounds with almost no visibility. Anyhow here it goes; I am on Death CAM on some soldier, he is walking down an alley when he hears gun shots from different directions. He gets all desperate looking left and right, next thing I know he is standing about 15 feet almost at the other side... !?? The Twilight zone. Another soldier was in the map that has the center tower with the strong point. He is between the wall, half his body inside the building, the other half, outside like a real ghost. Who do I report to? How does it work? Please do not ban me, I like GRAW, I dont want to be seen as a whiner... I will try to get video of what I am talking about and post it whenever I can.
  10. How can it be that my video card delivers incredible graphics, awesome pictures and poor quality when it comes to WMP? When I had my GeForce 6800 the videos lookes clean and crisp, but with my new 7950 GX2 the videos look horrible. Why could that be happening?
  11. I bought GRAW PC version with proof of purchase number: 08888 68280 6 CD numbers go from 682806-CD1 to CD4. Even after all its magic and awards the truth has to be told. Following bugs I confronted: - Soldiers would say I have to reload numerous times on a loop. - Enemy soldiers looking against the wall when doing surveillance at his AOR. - Enemy soldiers who can spot me when I am in total darkness and I cannot even see my own weapon and zero sound. Splinter Cell has two thumbs up maintaining this realistic detail. Many times I thought the soldiers had night vision, which in fact they had none. By the end of the game it looks like they are the ones who have all the tecno babble. Night vision was useless for me because even in complete absolute darkness they could see me even when my hearbeats and breath stopped. - Tanks would run over cars and the vehicles would stay right up, no gravity glitch. - At some points I could use enemy bullets at some points I could not. I even gave all of my squad the same assault rifle in case they go down I could use it. The game would not let me grab more bullets although I had 2 or 3 cartriges left. - Could never shoot prone, could not shoot underneath cars etc... very very bad glitch which annoyed me during surprise attacks. - Navigating in the city was too restricted. It was a big error from my part to play Call of Duty 2 and then this game. COD2 let you go up and down buildings, everywhere, full 3D environment, dynamic to the last drop. I was dissapointed I could not open doors, jump, climb walls, it felt too restrictive. In this Call of Duty 2 and Splinter Cell gather major points. Ahh, one time I chose the wrong weapon so I said, No problem will start again. No way... I got stuck with that weapon for the rest of the current section or mission. The only way to change the weapon was by going back to the previous section so I could fall in the weapons menu, major major lame, no flexibility or option control. At another point I forgot to choose the scope and was mad as hell. Dont get me wrong but it has little things that makes the game look sloppy. - Now that we are into weapons, C'mmon weapon choice was minimal to say the least. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter... I was so eager to start the game and experiment with all these weapons bla bla bla and then it was a total bummer, daaaa. No smoke grenades, I could not use my friend's weapons either... If you play Call of Duty 2 you will understand all I am talking about. No driving any jeeps, trucks, destroy big buildings, etc. Once again, its a very clean decent game that it still on its infancy or at least thats how they made it. other glitches were the tanks would not move in sequence, tanks would not respond to my command, soldiers who say roger captain, but stay on the same spot. other little things would be if I would tell a soldier to please stand somewhere and then the helos is shooting a shower of bullets and he stays in the same spot. I did it on purpose and let the AI do the deal and to my surprise the dumb azsz stayed at the same spot until killed by the helo right at the middle of the Plaza with no hesitation to take cover etc. He would scream that he is receiving hostile fire, hello "Get the ###### out..." Cool game, fabulous intensive graphics, enjoyed the one on war guerrilla fights. Many times felt I was right there inside the game, other times was just frustrated of the annoying glitches. All in all a 5 out of 10. Me myself, would have given the award to Call of Duty 2 in a heart beat instead of GRAW IMO.
  12. Can anyone help me on how to play this online? This is so confusing, I see tons of websites, patches, opinions... its get to the point I dont know where to start.
  13. Awesome game after all the problems and frustration. It leaves me with a sour feeling to keep playing it for hours and hours. The issue was the video card, its strange because I did not have problems at the beginning. Seems that the added helo and multiple scenarios was to much graphics for the GeForce 6800. Now I want to see if I can play in teams etc etc... I have never played it online with other people. How does it work?
  14. Guess what? I received my new video card NVidia 7950 GX2 and problem solved. No more crashes and the MEMINFO does not peak to 990 like before. I played all the way to the black limousine and got shot... no crashes, no black screens!!! So far the 7950 GX2 is silky smooth, clean crisp, no bouncy screens nor black screens. Lets see if I can finish it today finally!
