CTD After Blood Oil Mod Change

Ghosts,

My Ghost Recon has a CTD everytime I remove the Blood Oil mod.

I have tried Navy SEALs, Frostbite... but nothing works.

I remember something about deleting .ass files (but I think thats for MP crashes)

and potentially running a quick mission with DS and IT...any suggestions.

Does the ike.log give a clue immediately after the CTD?

Where does it crash? When the game is initializing or when going ingame?

Does GR CTD even with no mods and only DS and IT activated?

Seems I have seen the .ass file or files but have no clue about them.

When the game is initializing.

ike.log states:

"RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file rifleman-77.atr
CampaignStateFile::ReadBin: couldn't find actor file: rifleman-77.atr"

The game will only load in vanilla, and with a custom Blood Oil pack, but will not run on anything else.

Looks like it could be missing from D:\Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Actor\rifleman

Do you have the original rifleman-77.atr file by chance Wombat?

The ike.log will throw red herrings sometimes. The last rifleman.atr in Orgimiss is #76.

I have had similar ike.logs where it says it is missing opposing_force_7.atr and actually they only go up to 6.

So the ike is not being helpful in this case. But keep checking it everytime you have a CTD, you never know.

This is me and may have no benefit but mods I'm not using I keep in a different folder outside of the Red Storm directory.

I have Blood Oil so I'll try to replicate the issue on my end.

EDIT:

I couldn't replicate it on my end. The only odd thing I have ever had with Blood Oil is in the platoon set-up screen.

If I chose to auto-assign squad members it would momentarily freeze as if it might crash but would finally auto assign.

I don't recall this with other mods.

I have had some CTD's where I was desperate enough to try anything. I deleted all the save folders and that did the trick but only on one occasion.

OK I discovered a solution... i just copied the rifleman-76.atr and renamed it rifleman-77.atr and the

game allows me to load different mods.

I think someone how these rouge files are being permanently assigned and Ghost Recon vanilla wants

to look for it. Perhaps we are pushing the engine to it limits with mods causing some issues.

Anyway, thanks for your help as always bro...topic RESOLVED.
