Crash log:

Crash in application version: 30292.2673

Could not load geometry because IDirect3D9::CreateVertexBuffer failed.

This device does not support the queried technique.

Renderer: threaded

Physics : threaded

Occurred twice (so far) in multiplayer co-op on two different maps, though I don't really think the map has anything to do with it from looking at the error message. I got that once running 1024x768, and again (sooner) running 1680x1050 (my monitor's native res).

After the crash from 1024 mode, I was dropped to desktop at minimum res (300x200 <?> @ 8bit). Using my monitor's native res in-game, I was dropped to desktop and stayed in native res. Monitor is a Dell 2007WFP 20" wide-screen flat panel.

NVidia GF 7900 GS/256mb/PCIe

-- NVidia 84.40 drivers *

Notes:

1) Reverted to original driver set that came on my Dell XPS410: Dell/NVidia version 84.40

2) Set "Anti-Aliasing" in video drivers to "Application Controlled" which allowed me to play for a longer period in both single-player and multi-player before a crash

3) Using my monitor's native resolution (1680x1050@32bit) has helped tremendously with "graceful" crashing of the game to desktop, except in one instance where my video driver was caught in an "infinite loop" and required me to power down the system.
