shakealeg1212
This may be a bit over due, but i have a few questions. (im using Heroes Unleashed) mission 3 stone bell, is the tank convoy time released or is it scripted based on whether you kill the patrols? mission 4 black needle, is there a time limit in which i must save the UN soldiers or is it chance that they die before i reach them? IMO these are the worst missions on GR, racing against time completely ruins the tactical nature of the Ghosts, Im a perfectionist which sucks because i want to complete all the bonus objectives and i of course want the least amount of casualties. if i play tactical, the UN soldiers get killed and if i move quickly i usually can save the UN but i take heavy casualties. meh such a quagmire
RileyFletcher_01
To answer your questions, yes, there are timers in both of those missions. The convoy is also triggered to advance if you approach them or kill the patrols. The UN soldiers also become vulnerable once you reach the village outskirts or after a certain amount of time. However, I disagree when you say that these missions are the worst in GR and ruin the tactical nature of the game. First of all, M15 Red Square is the worst by far. Secondly, the timers are realistic. Do you think it would be more realistic if the convoy waited until you were perfectly ready for them, or the UN soldiers stayed invincible and kept fighting in the village for the entire time it takes you to tactically, slowly, cautiously, reluctantly, and systematically clear the crossroads? It doesn't ruin the tactical nature, it simply makes you use faster tactics. In real life there are plenty of times when time is a very important and deadly factor, including hostage rescues, explosive disarming, and ambushes. The missions are actually fairly easy in co-op, but if you're having trouble, check out the RECON page on this website and look under the GR section for the campaign mission tutorials. They're near the bottom of the page and quite helpful.
