Zeealex
I just saw a woman flashing her boobs... lovely! On a more serious note, it seems if I try to access a thread via google, I'm diverted to Adult sites, spam sites or some other site I can't remember, I think it was something to do with site hosting or something or another. It only happens once, then I can access the site as normal, I'm not sure how it's happened probably that last reported hack attack. anyone else getting this? I'm running Windows 8.1 and Google Chrome, I'll see if I can reproduce it on firefox. Edited February 6, 2015 by Zeealex
Blame
happens only with Chrome, its probably the adblock not doing its work

Zeealex
i doubt it's the same virus affecting windows, linux, android and mac platforms somehow. but it couldn't hurt to check i guess.

Rocky
Hmm, I had this happen to me to, I was looking at a page of google search results, and one of them was this site, I clicked on the link and it took me to an adult site. When I went back to Google and clicked on the same link, it took me straight here, as it should. So this is either something on our PC (ie browser malware), or it is something on the website this is re-directing some google traffic. Anyone able to add anything to this to help track it down? What link are you clicking on Zee??
Zeealex
i know my PC is clean, and i've used android, FireOS, and linux to see if I can recreate the error, and I still get it, cross platform malware thats affecting all of us is unlikely. i've tried links to mr moons 'small taste of things to come', heores unleashed and some help threads when GRAW glitched out on 'ready for bear' I have exactly the same symptoms. links to the download section are fine, whatever it is, its in the forum. How embarrassing lol...:S
Rocky
Yes sorry about this. This is a serious and difficult issue to resolve. This site has had the same problem for a long time and is talking about moving to a completely new server and host to get away from it as it is near to impossible to remove because they think it is a server level attack that resides in RAM. If it was a simple forum infection, we could cleanse it. It is so clever that it will not re-direct if it is a forum admin, so that staff do not see the issue. I will have to take an afternoon of work to reinstall the entire forum and hope that this does the trick. If not I seriously do not know what I can do. There is a solution that involves stopping programmes from other sites running here (because that is whats happening), but if I do that, other parts of the site break and we have to then set about fixing legitimate parts of the site! It's a freaking nightmare.

Rocky
To give you an idea of the scale of the issue, I installed a test forum elsewhere on this site to try various things. I installed it, and went back a week or so later to try some stuff out. There were 6 members - spam bots. On my unannounced forum. In those few days on a hidden forum, they made over 7,000 spam posts advertising drugs. It's chaos!!
