101459
I just ran across this on the GR:FS official forums; when asked in the PC confirmation thread where the PC version of GR:FS was being developed Ubi-Mush replied, "Ubisoft Singapore are the development team." (post here)... Considering the console version is being co-developed by Ubisoft Paris and RSE I hope this isn't a sign of deferred accountability for a marginal budget PC platform release. Ubisoft Singapore seemed to have their hands full with Ghost Recon: Online, so it's strange that they'd be tasked with that game, GR:FS PC as a stand alone project like GRAW PC, or the chore of porting it if that's what they're doing... In other related, recent and weird news, Amazon U.S. just changed the PC platform release date to December 31, 2012, odd for them to go with a specific date unless it's known. Rocky
That's a date they use when they don't have a publisher date. ApexMods talking about Ubi Singapore.
101459
ApexMods seems to assume the PC release will be a port, which seems reasonable, but hardly certain. GRIN was a newcomer that turned on a dime and rolled out GRAW on almost no notice, and Ubisoft went with them again for GRAW 2 so the 3rd party no port approach had to be a workable proposition on some level, and it doesn't seem out of the question Ubisoft might gp the same route with GR:FS PC. Either approach could be good and bad a port means the game will look at least as good as the console version, a dedicated release means we might have more PC centric features, but quality may still suffer. Ubisoft Singapore wasn't exactly churning out the bug fixes and updates during (or even between) the two betas of Ghost Recon: Online, and GR:O news has gone dark -- so perhaps they were and are working flat out on GR:FS PC... And wasn't GR:O on the YETI engine as well? So many questions, so few answers; but probably the most important is: when is Ubisoft gonna send you your tickets to Singapore and Paris so you can get to the bottom of all things GR:FS and file a proper report Rocky? Heck for all your years of service here Ubi should be financing your retirement! Edited February 25, 2012 by 101459
Rocky
Ubisoft Singapore screams of Port. I'd love to be proved wrong. So many questions, so few answers; but probably the most important is: when is Ubisoft gonna send you your tickets to Singapore and Paris so you can get to the bottom of all things GR:FS and file a proper report Rocky? Heck for all your years of service here Ubi should be financing your retirement! To be fair, they already offered.
