  1. Well I've had it crash on me in a new campaign on a game that I just re-installed, so I don't think it's a save game files problem. Yup, got the slots and the inclination to add more system memory ... it's just the money I don't have Read that thread a few days ago, it's what gave me the idea to run dxdiag to see if I could find a problem. Thanks though. Clark
  2. Seems like a good idea for deployment on a ship or for air defense, but seems odd when used as a personal weapon. I just find the idea that for the first rounds fired you have very little barrel length from the fired round disconcerting ... Clark
  3. Completely agree Para. I'm personally opposed to anything smaller than a .40 S&W (or 10mm Auto, which is about the same). I've just heard way to many people say that they have had problems with the 9mm dropping a target. If it might take me 3 - 4 round per person to take them down, I would much rather carry 3 or 4 rounds fewer in a mag and have that much more power available to me. Clark
  4. Played LOMAC a bit and still own it. Been thinking about loading it up just for a few quick flights here and there, it does not take me long before I just get to irritated at it. The ineffectiveness of the radar and AMRAAMs bug me a bit, but really it's the campaign that I end up not being able to stand. LOMAC is best for eye candy really, man is it a sexy looking game. Sorry, I'm an avid Falcon fan myself. Not only is Falcon 4.0 (and AF) more realistic than LOMAC but the fully dynamic campaigns are where Falcon really shines. LOMAC is looking quite cool though the more then work on it, and in all honestly I last played nearly 3 years ago. I even heard that they have an F-16 now you can fly ... Saitek's X-45 and X-52 are good sticks for the money, I'm a bit of an addict and have a Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar. I really do highly recommend it though, I have nearly 100 commands assigned to mine Clark
  5. Some time ago, shortly before I beat GR:AW for the first time the game started crashing on me from time to time. It annoyed me at first, but I would just reload and keep playing figuring I would find out what it was sooner or later. It didn't always crash on me, it started some time after I got the game, though I cannot remember now what I could have done so start it. Since I have reformatted my computer and done a clean install (for unrelated reasons) and GR:AW is still crashing on me. It's really annoying and now causes me to almost never play anymore, so I'd like to see if I can fix it. When the game crashes almost the same thing happens every time, the game will freeze for a second then simply CTD with no error messages at all. Once I'm back at my desktop I'm looking at 800 x 600 resolution and 4-bit color. When I open up the settings panel the first time to change things, I can't change a thing, 800 x 600 4-bit are the only options available. I hit cancel. I open up settings again and I can change everything back to my normal setting. This last part has always struck me as really odd, especially since it happens with no other game and jumped a format. Yesterday though I installed FS-X, which did a direct X update. I've always suspected that the error was Direct X based and when playing the game this afternoon I got another CTD, all the same symptoms as usual, but this time an error message: I've run all the dxdiag tests though on my system, having suspected it was a Direct X problem, and passed all of them. I was hoping that maybe someone would have an idea I have no tried yet. System Specs: AMD Athlon FX-60 (dual 2.61) Nvidia GeForce 7800GT 1 Gb PC 3200 DDR Direct X 9.0c Nvidia drivers 93.71 Clark
  6. Personally am a huge fan and addict of Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. The learning curve is a bit steep and you don't get as good of eye candy as some other sims like LOMAC; but it is much more detailed and immersive than any other flight sim out there. Not even mentioning the fully dynamic campaigns ... Clark
  7. Ah, waited a long time for that game. Still have a few more months to wait here in the US it looks like. Is it as good as or better than OFP? Clark
  8. you may joke about it, but IfI remember correctly, early version of 3dsmax (or was it character studio) actually came WITH A MONKEY. or an ape to be excact. life imitates art Ummm ... I have to ask ... What?!? Clark
  9. Holly crap that's sweet! Not really a fan of lasers so much ... but the SureFire is awesome! Clark
  10. My guess is the Army does not even have any; they were probably made as a privet venture in the hopes that the Army would pick up on it ... which I don't think they did. That does not mean that the Ghosts in the future could not be using them though Clark
  11. Yah the PI version of the M-203A1 will mount to the lower picatinny rail of an M-4 instead of clamping onto the barrel as the normal version does. Not only is this easier to install but makes the launcher compatible with weapons that have been upgraded with free-floating rails systems. I don't think that they are very common at all though, I hardly ever see them. Clark
  12. Couldn't you still mount an M-203PI? You might need to work on the lower rail a bit ... but it should at least physically fit. Do any of the Mk.18 / M-4 CQB-R weapons still have the removable lower rail panel like the M-4? Seems like it would be rather pointless ... Clark
  13. How well does the scope work? I imagine that is going to be the hardest part ... Clark
  14. Very nice indeed, it's a testament to one's skill when you can make a model that looks that good without a texture. Only (small) gripe ... where's the mag release on the left side of the receiver? Should be a cut-out for it ... I cannot wait to see her textured Clark
  15. That Aimpoint is killer, I would download the mod just for that if I wasn't downloading it already You should add the smaller text below the AimPoint logo: CompM2 4MOA xxxx-xxxxxxxx Or whatever. Clark
